Dr. Swaney began his dental career in Oxford in 1975. He has enjoyed the ever changing and improving field of dentistry in these 45 years. He is fortunate to have had many of his patients in his practice since the beginningnow working on the third generation of some of these families. He founded Oxford Dental in 1983 and has enjoyed growing his practice and serving the Oxford and surrounding communities.

Offering a vast array of dental procedures, he is a member of the American Dental Association, Mississippi Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Orthodontic Association, Certified Invisalign Provider, American Endodontic Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. Dr. Swaney takes great pride in Oxford Dental and knows what the practice offers is truly unique. He thoroughly enjoys coming to work each day and finds reward in his patient centric practice with his fantastic staff and wonderful patients. He truly believes the culture we created through our training with the help of our team and committed patients have made a practice that stands alone and is what other practices should aspire to be.

Dr. Swaney has always enjoyed giving back to the community utilizing his time, his resources, and his talents as a dentist. He has also participated in numerous mission trips to Honduras in the 80s and 90s to provide dentistry for people in need.

Locally, Dr. Swaney was a Rotarian for 35 years and recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow. He was one of the founders of Oxford Youth Baseball Association which became a driving force for Oxford community baseball at that time. He was president of the Ole Miss Lafayette County Alumni Association. He has been a devoted member of the O U Methodist Church choir for 45 years. He enjoys singing and has performed in many musicals at the Ford Center at Ole Miss including The Mikado, Hello Dolly, H.M.S. Pinafore, and Amahl and the Night Visitor.

He is proud of his 3 grown childrenWalker J., Sara Love, and Mary Linley. However, he is most proud of his fabulous 6 grandchildren who affectionally call him Pop. He truly understands why they are called GRAND children!! His driving force, his biggest supporter, and the love of his life is Molissia to whom he has been married 49 years now.

Dr. Lauren Phillips is officially at Oxford Dental, and we are THRILLED! Dr. Phillips is a graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry where she also served as the President of American Student Dental Association.

I became a dentist because I have always loved helping and getting to know others, and dentistry is the perfect way to do that. There is no better feeling for me than seeing a patient grin from ear to ear after youve helped them out! I have always had a interest in science as well as art, and dentistry is the perfect combination.

I went to ole miss and am so happy to be back in oxford! I love being social but also love chilling with my husband Bridges and our two fur babies. I love tennis, painting, cooking, and going to the lake and the beach.

Dr. Phillips looks forward to addressing all of your dental needs. She is passionate about helping patients improve their oral health and achieve a beautiful smile. Dr. Mercier specializes in Invisalign and smile makeovers. His favorite part of dentistry is the relationships built with patients. Patients will see Dr. Mercier for a host of reasons, including teeth bonding, broken teeth, bruxism, sleep apnea, sensitive teeth, and plaque buildup.

My wife, Janine, and our four children love supporting our community. Seeing patients and learning about their passions, family, friends and seeing their world change with smile transformations. The smiles that walk in our door make the statement that Oxford Dental provides exceptional dentistry, with a great culture to boost.

We feel very blessed to have Jennifer, on our team. She has 16 years of experience and enjoys teaching new assistants not only the skills needed to successfully assist dentists, but why finding connections and forming a relationship with each patient is key to ensuring their oral health goals are achieved. She is an avid DIYer and has fun repurposing old furniture, playing board games with her kids, swimming, working in her yard and visiting with friends and family

Michelle does it all! She has picked up a lot of knowledge during her 19years as a Dental Assistant. She applies this knowledge wherever needed whether it be in our in-house lab, assisting a doctor chairside, running our sterilization center or keeping up with inventory and ensuring we are well stocked with supplies. We are truly blessed to have her on our team. She looks forward to spending time with her grandchildren whenever possible

Mallory brings 10 years of experience to the team at Oxford Dental as one of Dr. Swaney's Dental Assistants. She is an orthodontia expert and cant wait to watch each patient see their new smile after completing treatment. She says the most enjoyable part of her career is the relationships she builds with her patients. She enjoys the opportunity to get to know each patient and see them reach their oral health goals. Mallory is a family girl and spends her weekends in Greenwood, MS where her parents live. Her four children love weekly dinners with their extended family. She also enjoys sharing her love of music and theatre with her kids

Shy, our talented Dental Assistants, comes from an oral surgery background. She especially enjoys assisting with extractions, same-day crowns, and Invisalign, using our iTero impressionless machine. She says she loves working at Oxford Dental because she has always dreamed of a career with at team that makes such a positive impact on patients, not just now, but for their entire lifetimes. Shy relaxes after work watching movies and being with her large family. She also enjoys shopping and outdoor adventures, 4-wheeler riding and being with friends.

Our Hygiene Team Leader,Megan, began her career in dentistry in 2014. She is thrilled to work at Oxford Dental because of the comrade between team members and the opportunities provided to continue to grow her skills through continued education. She is passionate about patient education and making lasting connections with her patients. Megan is also an expert in helping patients achieve their desired level of whitening. Outside of the office she enjoys decorating, and being with her family, friends and dog as much as possible. Fun Fact, Megan has been sky-diving!

Anna Clar is committed to providing the most comprehensive and customized oral hygiene care possible to each patient she meets. She enjoys restoring patients to optimal oral health with periodontal treatment and education on how to prevent oral diseases withproper home care. Anna Clar and her husband have a newborn baby girl, Amzie

For the past 13 years Madison has been in practice as a Dental Hygienist and feels privileged to be a part of the Oxford Dental Team that works with one goal in mind, to provide the best care possible for each patient in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Madison has a particular interest in treating patients with special need and/or dental anxiety and making their visits a positive experience. She is a lover of music and good food. When she is not at Oxford Dental she is cooking and being an excellent mom to her sweet baby boy, Shep!

Laurie began her career as a Dental Hygienist over 36 years ago and brings a great deal of experience and expertise to Oxford Dental. She has a particular interest in oral cancer prevention and is a huge advocate of our Oral ID screening tool. Laurie is a flea market fanatic and cant get enough of arts festivals, decorating and being with family

Allison decided Dental Hygiene was for her after completing her shadowing hours and observing many successful before and after treatment results. She is excited to start her career in dentistry at Oxford Dental because of the above average amount of continued education courses offered, wide variety of services, and opportunity to serve the community. Allison finds every opportunity she can to cook, garden and participate an any activity involving water

Ashley Kate first started coming to Oxford Dental 20 years ago for her preventative care exams. AK attributes her pursuing her RDH degree because of Dr. Swaney and his staff. We are thrilled to have AK here in our office pursuing her dreams.

Teresa, has over 19 years of experience in the dental field. She has extensive continued education and experience on securing financial arrangements for every budget and maximizing insurance benefits. She says, I love to help each patient overcome financial barriers and maximize their insurance to obtain their perfect smile and oral health. Teresa loves absolutely everything Ole Miss and attends sporting events as often as possible

Shana has been a valuable team member at Oxford Dental for over 16 years. She has an Associates Degree in Office Administration and is exceptional in understanding insurance benefits, accounting, financial arrangements and building and maintaining patient relationships. She enjoys traveling with her husband, spending as much time as possible at the beach and being outdoors with her family and fur babies

Joni has been in the dental industry for 16 years. She enjoys maximizing patients insurance to ensure our patients are getting the most out of their policies. Joni states that she has always wanted to have a career helping people. Joni received her elementary education teaching degree for k-8 at Delta State. Her hobbies are reading, traveling with my family (especially to the beach), and seeing live music.

Kristen is originally from Merritt Island, FL and moved to Oxford to attend Ole Miss. Kristen's role is digital marketing and search engine optimization for Oxford Dental. She loves contacting local businesses to support our community. She graduated from Ole Miss in 2013 and loves cheering on the Rebs. She also enjoys seeing our life-changing before and after photos and watching patients leave with the smiles they have always dreamed of. After-hours, Kristen is an active Member of the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford. She loves playing outdoors with her wild, adventurous two boys.

Sumer is excited to be part of the Oxford Dental team. She has 5 years experience in dentistry and a vast knowledge of patient communication and organization. She is always lending a helping hand with a bright smile on her face. Sumer enjoys spending time with her 3 beautiful children.

Tracey began her career in the dental industry because she wanted to change lives by helping others love their smile. Originally from Grenada, she brings many skills to our office, but is especially skilled at maximizing insurance benefits and serving patients by customizing treatment plans and financial arrangements to fit each patient's needs. When she is not at the office she can be found playing tennis, enjoying social gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying her guilty pleasure- Hallmark Channel movies.

We do not work for insurance companies, we work for you. Our clinical recommendations are not based on insurance coverage, they are based on your oral health wants and needs. We do our best to maximize your dental benefits and estimate co-insurance costs, but ultimately, you are responsible for understanding your insurance policy's co-insurances, co-pays, deductibles, waiting period, fee schedule, etc. Therein, you are also responsible for any amounts not covered by your insurance plan.
