If I could leave a negative star I would. This office is out of control. Carla (one of the dental hygienists) released my HIPAA and PHI to another patient without my consent. Due to Dr. Owens lack of interest in correcting his staff's bad behavior, I chose to leave and find a new dentist. My father has been seeing Dr Owens for several years. My father has to see him more often than every 6 months due to teeth issues. Dr Owens has put several crowns on my Dad's teeth. Due to lack of professionalism from Jeannie (bookkeeper) my parents changed dentists. The new dentist discovered my Dad had cavities in every tooth. Dr. Owens put crowns over teeth w/cavities. Untreated cavities can cause infections, heart issues and a whole host of other issues. He has to have all of his teeth pulled and have full dentures. Dr Owens refuses to speak to patients if issues or concerns arise. He needs to retire. He doesn't care about his patients. He is only concerned about money. He doesn't care that his staff violates HIPAA, gossips about his patients or can't provide basic customer service. It's time for Dr. Owens to retire.

The past few years, this office has not impressed me. They seem to now value quantity over quality. There is no telling how many hours you will wait to be seen and then once you are seen, they rush to get your appointment done. Not the best dental work, and Dr. Owens can be impatient and insensitive. Seems like he doesn't care about you, he just wants to do what he has to do to your mouth and move on. They do have a nice kids waiting area, the ability to let kids watch tv while they are getting work done, toys for the kids when they are done, and sweet women working at the front, though. I also greatly appreciate that they take military insurance.

Dr. Owens does wonderful work. He's been in the same building for many years and has done a wonderful job every single time. He's professional, and depending on what kinda work your looking at, you can usually run straight in then out. But sometimes there's days u may wait a little longer than usua.. But all in all their caring as well as professional.

My sons appointment was at 3:00 which I had to leave work early to get to . We arrived at 2:55 we sat and waited and watched people that had came in way after us get taken back before us people that had appointments at 3:15 &3:30 & even 3:45 were called back when I approached the receptionist at 4:10 and asked why she just had a smug grin on her face no explanation & no apology. Needless to say we left and we will not be back.

If you are at all anxious about going to the dentist, this is NOT the dentist for you. I was a long time patient, however over the last few years I have increasingly dreaded going for my visits; even just a cleaning would leave my mouth sore for a couple days after. The doctor's attitude and patience seems to be getting worse. On my last visit I had to have a crown and he was having a hard time getting the crown to adhere. I was in the chair for well over 3 hours and when I jumped because I felt pain (probably the numbing agent had worn off) he yelled at me that it was just pressure and became very hostile. I am now seeing a new dentist who had to replace a different crown Dr. Owens did 3 years ago; I had mentioned several times to him that it didn't feel right and was causing me pain. He always said that he didn't see anything wrong with it. Come to find out, there was a cavity under the crown which led to an infection, resulting in having to have a root canal and new crown. Do yourself a favor and find another dentist!

Was a patient of Dr. Owens for years and I agree with many reviews on here recently he has seriously lost all trust in me as a patient. I was in his chair for so long waiting for him to completely numb me my mouth was open for well over an hour. Knowing I have tmj it became extremely uncomfortable. He and his staff were told multiple times. As he finished he realized he had in fact left my mouth out entirely too long. My jaws were locked OPEN. He tried getting them to unlock himself which put me in worse pain. Called the office he uses for root canals to see if they could get me in but seeing as it was already 5:00 had me sit even longer waiting on him to get in touch with them. So I sat crying in extreme pain and instead of offering any help wants me to drive to their near Hamilton Place from Fort Oglethorpe in the condition HE left me in. I ended up going to the ER instead due to the pain and distance. At the ER was given pain meds which they hoped would relax me enough to pop my jaws back into socket. No. I ended up being put under sedation in order for 4 different people to help pop my jaws back into place. Then had to wear a wrap with my mouth shut for 48 hours after. The ER staff called his office directly about how I was allowed to leave the office in that condition. Not a single person from his office called to see what happened or if everything was okay. He should have never been allowed to practice again after having his stroke a few years ago. He got more and more anxious and rude every appointment after. His son handled his appts during the time he left after his stroke. I'm curious to know if the dental board knows of the problems that people have had in the last few years.

Dr Owens is on his game as much as ever since my first visit in 1987. Skilled in many areas. A medical professional. A careful demolistionist of decayed materials, an engineer, a people person, obviously a great leader of a fine team specializing in many areas. And superior businessman judging from his fine facilities over the years. My first bridge lasted 39 years. This is the reason I came down from Nashville once again for a replacement and even more just in the last few weeks. ++ Very fair pricing too! Thank you Owen's Team!

Had a crown replaced 2 years ago. I lost said crown on Saturday. I called the office that evening, 5 minutes after I lost the crown. The answer machine said that someone would call me back as soon as they returned to the office. This is now Friday and guess what, NO CALL!! When I told him I was having issues with it 6 months after it was put on, he just gave me some sensitive toothpaste. When I went to the new dentist to have the crown fixed, I found out the tooth had started to decay underneath because it didn't fit correctly. SHODDY WORKMANSHIP!!! DO NOT go to this dentist if you want QUALITY dental care. Seems this dentist is more about quantity not quality.
