Dr. Owens is a 1997 graduate of Mt Carmel Area JR/Sr High School. After graduating from nearby Susquehanna University, he attended New York University College of Dentistry where he matriculated in 2006. He spent 2 months in American Samoa at the LBJ Tropical Medical Center before returning home to open his practice. Dr. Owens served locally as the Central Susquehanna Valley Dental Society President for 4 years.

Dr. Owens takes his call to service of the community seriously and has been involved in many local endeavors to give back. Hosting 2 free dental clinics a year, a community garden, candy buy-back benefiting Operation Gratitude, canned food drives, hosting Santa at the office, and having the office serve as a Danville area Diaper Bank satellite distribution site. Dr. Owens also travels to Nicaragua every February to provide care at CICRIN (orphanage) on the island of Ometepe.

Dr Owens is an avid marathon runner, skier and paddle-boarder. He also is a beekeeper, chicken keeper and Blueberry farmer. He is involved in his church, the Danville area diaper bank and is on the board of directors of the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way. He is best known as and most proud to be, Scotlyns daddy.

Dr. Owens is a member of the Coal region community, this is home. Serving this area in ways both related to dentistry and beyond. His call to serve others reaches beyond the local community extending to other countries.

Twice a year Owens Dentistry sponsors aCommunity Care Day. Partnered with Associated Oral Surgeons, we provide free cleanings, fillings, and extractions to anyone who attends the clinic. Participation is first-come, first-serve and there are no questions about the need of the patient.

Once Owens Dentistry moved to our new home, we not only had more room inside the clinic but also some ground outside. Dr. Owens set up acommunity gardenalongside the office. He grows vegetables and as they ripen, they are available for pickup at the office by anyone who needs it. Availability is posted on Facebook, and you do not need to be a patient to receive.

Our office space is also a site for people in need to pick up free diapers. As a volunteer of theDanville Area Diaper Bank, it was noticed that many people would drive from the coal region, over to Danville weekly to get diapers. There was the idea to have a satellite location where people could pick up diapers without making a long drive. People can pick up diapers, needing to only provide the town of residence and the size needed per child.
