Dr. Margaret Shaw has been a general dentist for over 25 years with extensive experience in all areas of dentistry. Her focus is restorative and general dentistry for all age patients, with a particular interest in the difficult root canal and extraction procedures that many general dentists refer to a specialist.
She currently practices five days a week in the office she owns, with support from her excellent associate dentist and her dedicated staff of five. Her practice is service oriented, 'hands-on,' and reflects her passion for charitable outreach to those in need within the community as well as different corners of the world. Her personal and professional integrity is her highest priority. She credits her success to her faith, the support of family, friends, and colleagues, and her outstanding office staff. Dr. Shaw received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in June of 1989 from Baylor College of Dentistry, and was on the Dean 's Honor
List from 1987-1989. Before that, she graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving her Bachelor of Science in May 1986 from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas. She began practicing dentistry as an Associate Dentist for Billy G. Shaw, DDS in Dallas in June 1989 through July of 1996 before starting work at her own practice in September of 1995. In addition to her practice in Ovilla, Dr. Shaw is the Owner and President of Elite Mobile Dental which began in June of 2012 and serves the greater Dallas Metroplex, suburbs, and mid-cities. Also, Dr. Shaw has worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and she is looking forward to returning to teaching after retirement from her practice.
Since 1997, Dr. Shaw has participated in 12 dental mission trips to Nicaragua and 1 dental mission trip to the Amazon. On these trips, she had the opportunity to work with two premier oral surgeons, Dr. Robert Lamb (Edmond, OK) and Dr. Rex Witherspoon (Springfield, MO).
Under the tutelage of these top surgeons and working under extremely challenging conditions, she was exposed to techniques that go far beyond the procedural scope of most general dentists. As a result, she has developed valuable
skills and has become proficient at difficult extractions. Her organizational skills extend beyond managing her own private practice. In the late 1990s, at the request of the director of Central Dallas Ministries (now City Square), she set up their dental clinic, which provided low cost dental care to needy families. Her role involved purchasing all equipment, establishing office protocols, and recruiting the initial staff. She also volunteered in this clinic for several years. Dr. Shaw is an active participant in Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles, a volunteer program of donated dental services for disabled, elderly, and medically-compromised people. She has numerous hours of continuing education, with an emphasis on oral pathology, oral lesions as well as geriatric dentistry. Below are pictures from Dr. Shaw's recent mission trip to the Amazon.
Dr. Sharpe was born and raised in New Iberia, Louisiana. She received her bachelors of science degree from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Sharpe then went on to attend Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and graduated in 2014. She is member of American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Sharpe is committed to staying up-to -date with the latest technology in order to provide the greatest health benefits to patients through continuing education classes. Dr. Sharpe strives to educate patients on the importance of their dental health. She loves building long-term relationships with her patients.

My experience on 10/13/22 for a crown seating was WONDERFUL! The service (as always) was GREAT! Dr Sharpe is AWESOME, knowledgeable, caring, gentle, genuine, kind, and warming. She he is truly the BEST!! As a matter of fact the whole team is. Going to the dentist can be scary, but I assure you they will make the experience as seamless and pleasurable as possible. Angie, Amanda, Melissa and Alyssa are sweethearts! What a team!!

Love this dentist. Dr. Shaw and Dr Sharpe are both great. They always make sure I'm never uncomfortable or in pain, no matter how much it may inconvenience them. They also have helped me get my teeth healthy again after a long period of neglect and depression.

Great, friendly and kind folks at Dr. Shaw's office. We've been patients here for more than 20 years. Service is thorough and gentle. Brand new office beginning this year is nice and modern. It's a great location for people in the south Dallas area.

I always dread going to the dentist. Just for them to tell me what I'm doing wrong and then destroy my mouth. I would say you do not need to dread going to this dentistry. The staff is amazing. Very personal, kind and care for you. I have no complaints about coming here. We have had horrible experiences at some of the franchise dentists, but coming to this family dentistry is well worth it. They will definitely take care of you here!
