The staff of Overman Family Dentistry is excited to offer you a new dental experience. We understand that going to the dentist creates anxiety for many people. We pride ourselves on providing the most gentle dentistry and a unique visit that addresses your concerns that are important to you.
Overman Family Dentistry was established in October of 2010 to be a dental practice that would change the way people think about dentistry. Dentistry of old was drill and fill and hurry people in and out of the office with little concern for prevention and getting to the root cause of the disease. People associated going to the dentist with fear, anxiety and pain.
Dr. Overman is excited to bring a new dental experience that addresses all aspects of care. He understands that good care begins with genuine concern for the individual seeking help.Combined with a comprehensive approach and understanding of all of the contributing factors to one's health (diet, oral hygiene, anxiety, as well as life circumstances), Dr. Overman will always come alongside a patient to restore his or her health.
Originally from Mt. Vernon,IA, Dr. Overman received his Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgerydegree from the University of IowaCollege of Dentistry in 2007. After graduating he worked in private practice in Boone, Iowa, and then served at the Story County Dental Clinic, before opening Overman Family Dentistry in 2010.
Dr. Dillon Schloerb (pronounced Shlerb) grew up in Clive, IA where he graduated from Valley High School, and he is very excited to get back to central Iowa by serving the Ames community. Dr. Schloerb graduated from the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) with distinction earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry before attending the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While at the University of Iowa, Dr. Schloerb earned the Deans academic recognition award each of his four years, was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and earned the American Academy of Prosthodontics Student of Merit Award.
Dr. Schloerb has apassion for helping and serving others. He will look at each patient as a whole, to find the best way to meet each individuals needs. Dr. Schloerb enjoys dentistry because of the relationships he gets to build with people and the community, and he loves giving people a reason to smile! In his free time, Dr. Schloerb enjoys cycling, running, golfing, and watching his favorite sports teams.

Dr. Overman is a gem of a dentist. He offered us a holistic and reasonable treatment plan for our young daughter. We were so happy with his knowledge and expertise around cavities and root canals. I can't recommend him enough!

Great work. Friendly workers, very friendly, and was impressed with the work they did and quality. Pleasant dental office. Clean and visually appealing to all members of your family. Price in average range of Ames area for cleaning and x ray work, but I would pay in the 300-500 range for quality people performing their trade well. Which is what everyone does there very much so! Been years since I've enjoyed going to a dental office, so this was a real gem of an experience.

Overman Family Dentistry is my favorite dental office. Dr. O is constantly extending his knowledge base. The entire staff is dedicated to providing excellent care for all of their patients.
