Growing up the son of a family dentist in Kenyon MN, Dr. Eric Overby had an affinity for the dental profession at an early age. He was drawn particularly to the field of orthodontics due to the enjoyable experience of undergoing orthodontic treatment himself as a teenager.
Erics resume includes 12 years of higher education. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Biology in 1990. His DDS degree was earned from the University of Minnesota school of Dentistry in 1994. Following dental school Eric was commissioned as an officer in the US Navy where he completed a general practice residency program at Naval Hospital Great Lakes. From there he served for 2 years as the dentist aboard the USS Guam in Norfolk Virginia.
After the Navy Dr. Overby returned to the University of Minnesota to earn his Certificate of Specialty in Orthodontics as well as a Masters degree in Oral Biology. He also achieved his Board Certification and was granted Diplomat Status with the American Board of Orthodontics. He began practicing orthodontics in Southeastern MN in June of 2000.
Dr. Overbys commitment to continuing education never stops and he attends numerous local and national meetings each year. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, The American Board of Orthodontics, The Midwestern Society of Orthodontics, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists.
Outside of the office Dr. Overby and his wife Diamond enjoy running, hiking, vacationing and checking out new places. They also enjoy following virtually every Minnesota sports team. Daughters Mara and Madison are both in dental school and are looking forward to carrying on the Overby dental tradition. Dr. Overby and Diamond are excited about the recent addition of daughter Hazel to the family!

Welcome! I enjoy meeting new patients and helping them with their orthodontic needs and questions. These past few years Ive spent at Overby Orthodontics have been the best! Dr. Overby is such a great orthodontist; I love seeing patients smile when they are done with braces! Our team is like a family, and I feel fortunate to spend my days with such wonderful people.
My husband and I have three children whom have now flown the coop that leaves us with our two cats and one dog at home. We love spending time with our family. My husband and I enjoy going to concerts all over the United States and we love sporting events especially Hockey and Football!!!
Working at the front desk as a Treatment Coordinator, I have had so much fun getting to know all of our patients and helping them achieve beautiful smiles! I love watching their growing confidence and knowing that I played a small part in their results. And I love working with our entire team!

My husband and I have been married for 6 years, we have two children a retriever/lab mix, Great Pyrenees, a cat as well as 3 chickens and 3 ducks. We enjoy camping at Deer Creek Speedway on the weekends and watching the dirt track races. When we are not at the race track, we are attending dance practices, competitions for our daughter and hockey practice for our son!
The dental assistants at Overby Orthodontics provide direct patient care, including the placing and adjusting of braces, and improving the smiles of our patients. They work hand-in-hand with Dr. Overby to ensure our patients receive the highest quality of care.
I have worked in orthodontics since my graduation from Dental Assisting school in 2005. Over that time I have had the privilege of watching our patients gain confidence with their new smiles and Im even starting to see our patients come back with little ones of their own! My co-workers are fun to be around and I enjoy working side-by-side with my husband, Dr. Overby.
In my spare time, I enjoy running, watching sports, visiting our cabin, traveling, and generally being outdoors. We just welcomed our new baby, Hazel! Our dog, Henry, is still trying to figure out if he likes her :) Fun fact: I am a big Frank Llyod Wright fan!
I started out working in General Practice as a Dental Assistant, and then began my career in orthodontics in 2011. I love orthodontics and really enjoy watching a patients confidence grow, especially at the end of treatment when they see their new smile!
My husband and I have three children: two girls and one boy, and German Shepard name Raja. We recently moved to our family farm and we are loving country life! In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, golfing, traveling and being with my family. Fun fact: I enjoy swing dancing at weddings!
I have been working at Overby Orthodontics since I graduated in 2013, and nothing beats the seeing a patients new smile when their braces come off! Everyone here is so helpful and fun, and so great to work with. My husband and I have two dogs named Kobe and Cardi, and we are expecting our first baby very soon! We love spending time outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
I am one of those people who has actually loved going to the dentist since I was a kid! And my favorite aunt was my Dental Assistant. When she went back to school for Hygiene she always told me to go to school to be a Dentist. That seemed a bit much for me, so I went into Dental Assisting instead. I started in 2005 at a general practice with a Dentist that did Oral Surgery and Orthodontics, in addition to General Dentistry; I worked there for over 15 yrs. OS and Ortho were my favorite! I knew I would one day want to get into an Orthodontic specialty office, and I switched to Ortho last winter. I especially love lab work and getting to know the patients.
I love quality time with my close friends. My husband and I love going to movies and going shopping. In the summer, I enjoy watching my husband, Billy, golf while I ride in the cart! :) We also love couch time with our two dogs. We have a male Bugg named McGuirk and a female Chihuahua named Pickles. Fun Fact: I collect fun toys like LOL and NaNaNa dolls!
Ive been working as a dental assistant in the orthodontic field for 10 years now! When my permanent teeth grew in they had a mind of their own, I was definitely a good candidate for braces, which I got in 4th grade! Having a great smile from my orthodontic treatment at a young age gave me confidence that I was missing, and I was always getting complimented on my teeth and smile. Now, I get to help give people the smile they have always wanted! Its always fun to see patients from the beginning to the end of their treatment and see a lot of them gain the same self-confidence that I did.
My family and I are travelers! We are always out exploring new places and taking nature pictures. I love exploring places that I have never been. We have a camper on Mille Lacs Lake that we stay at often. I have one fur baby, Meeko. He is an American Eskimo Spitz and definitely included as a member of the family!
I am thrilled to be the newest part of the team. Everyone had been so welcoming and helpful and I feel fortunate to work alongside Dr. Overby and the amazing women in the office. I help the office function efficiently by managing our Sterilization and Disinfection protocols. I also speak Spanish and help our patients by translating when needed. I am a recently married mom of three! On the weekends my husband and I can be found at the hockey rink or out fishing with the boys!
Welcome! I have been taking care of the business side of the practice since 2007, which includes payroll, accounts payable and receivable, software and network management, etc. Handling so many things makes each day different for me, and its rewarding for me to know that everything I do contributes to a great experience in our office.
At home, my husband and I have two daughters and two golden retrievers that keep us very busy. We are active in church, serve on a few community committees, and I do a lot of singing for city events. Our family loves camping, pheasant hunting, and adventures to our National parks!

As an adult getting braces, this experience is exciting and yet a little anxiety producing, too. Dr. Overby's office made me feel at ease, Savanah the dental assistant made sure I was comfortable throughout the process and thoroughly explained all the aftercare once the braces were placed, Jordan was helpful to make sure I understood the payments and next steps and graciously shared her own experience of braces as an adult (which was reassuring) and Dr. Overby even personally called me later in the day to check in on how I was doing. Excited for an improved smile and appreciate Dr. Overby's office for their good work today!

The doctor is really nice and very professional. The office staffs are okay. But before you make a long commitment to have braces done here, parents should be aware that their Rochester Office doesn't open everyday and it closes at 4 PM in the afternoon. We had a few emergencies happened ( the wire came out or loose) in the last two years and we felt it's hard to get immediately support either because the Rochester office was not open or they didn't have time to see us after school. At one point, they asked us travel to Austin to fix the problem. Most recently, one of the staff even told us if we couldn't come during school hour, then my son should wear retainer 24hr everyday to prevent he accidently swallow it and wait until next appointment which he could come afterschool, but is 2 months away. Very inconvenience for working parents and kids who has heavy school work load. I will not have my other kids come there.

I was visiting my family in Rochester when I bit into a broccoli and separated the glue from my tooth and bracket. I called my orthodontist in Albuquerque, NM and they recommended that I get it fixed asap since it would be about 6 weeks before I returned home. I called several orthodontic offices in the area...many did not want to see me and the two that would, were not able to guarantee that they would be able to fix it however, office fees would apply either way. I called Overby Orthodontics and they were able to get me in the following week free of charge. The staff members from beginning to end were professional and great! The doctor and the lady who worked on me, Diamond was awesome! They had to remove all the steel ties that were on my teeth and replace them (which was all my top teeth). Thank you all so much! JS

Not saying the work done is bad, just that they messed up at the end. Brackets were scheduled to come off and the last month one bracket was not connected due to a plastic fastener not working. But instead of checking one last time before taking off brackets etc, they said it was okay and just removed them. I did not know what to expect since this was first time getting braces. But my smile was nice, but very very uncomfortable. I have had to let my teeth settle and get new retainers made. Tooth pain under k9 teeth due to top and bottom hitting there only with no other teeth touching when I bite. Its been a while, but I am constantly reminded that I will need to shell out more money someday to have a comfortable, pain-free smile. (so thought I'd at least speak my word) The doc does fine and does a great job. Its just that things got sloppy and did not get completed. A few more months with the braces would have made all the difference.

They really take care of you over at Overby Orthodontics. My daughter had not seen them for about a year and the staff knew her name, that was wonderful! They really exceeded my expectations when it came to explaining their recommendations.

The doctors and dental staff here is phenomenal! During our last visit, one of the assistants was being silly with my daughter to cheer her up and showing her how to brush her teeth. She loved it and it's the little things that make the experience better.

The personal and genuine care my daughter and I have received from Overby is comforting. She just got braces put on and everyone was so positive about it, but what made it special was that night when the doctor called to check up on her. We appreciate the concern and your patience!

I brought my daughter here after several high recommendations. So far she is doing great, they have been doing a wonderful job and we are both so excited to see her new smile. They do a nice job and everyone is always polite!
