Dr. Michael Shaw was born and raised in the desert city of Roswell, New Mexico. He graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1994, and from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 2000. Having moved to the Midwest to complete his dental training, Dr. Shaw fell in love with the green rolling hills and good-natured people of northeast Kansas and decided to put his roots down here.

Even with over 16 years of experience working in dentistry, Dr. Shaw believes that learning is a lifelong endeavor. In order to serve his patients at the highest level possible, he completes approximately 100 hours of continuing education per year, which is three times the required amount. He has completed extensive training at the respected Spear Dental Institute in Scottsdale Arizona and also at Arrowhead Dental Group in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dr. Shaw and his wife, LeeAnn, have been married for over 20 years and have two sons together. He enjoys golf, spending time outdoors, photography, competing in shot put and discus events, and hanging out with his boys. He also loves baseball and the Kansas City Royals.
