Dr. Jack Dunlevy attended Brown University on an academic/athletic scholarship and graduated with honors. He holds a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, a Masters degree in Public Policy and Government from Harvard, and a Masters degree in Orthodontics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Jack holds a board certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. Hes also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Southern Society of Orthodontics. A past president of the Richmond Dental Society, Jack is a long-term member of the Orthodontic Alumni Association. He has served as a board member of the Dental Foundation of North Carolina since 2011.
Jack and his wife, Renee live in Duck with their yellow lab, Allie. The parents of three sons who grew up swimming, surfing, diving, and fishing on the OBX, Jack and Renee enjoy year-round living at the beach. You may see Jack at ball games, in a duck blind or with a fishing pole in his hand.

My daughter's braces' wire shifted three braces so the other side was lodged in her cheek. I got a same day appointment with the nicest orthodontist and staff maybe in all of the United States. We were a 55 minute drive and we were gone for two hours total, back on the beach to boogie board in no time. Awesome place. Wish we could bring it back to Brooklyn!

Totally amazing people!! We are here on vacation and had an issue with my daughters braces.same day emergency visit! Actually with in minutes of calling we we there and done! Best place around!!!

Very similar to a few other families that have written reviews for OBO, we had a bit of an emergency while on vacation and Dr. Dunlevy and his staff came to our rescue. The entire office could not have been nicer and quickly helped us solve our problem. Additionally, Dr. Dunlevy took the time to provide us insight and information to take back to our regular Orthodontist to follow up the issue. Dr. Dunlevy and his staff are great ambassadors for the the Outer Banks, and proof that competent, kind people still exist in our cynical, selfish world...

I broke a wire, and within 15 minutes I got an appointment, and within 15 hours I got it fixed. (They scheduled me for first thing the next morning!) Everyone at the office was really friendly and professional.

While on vacation, my son needed a wire clipped that was sticking out of his braces. We called and within the same day had an appointment and the problem was fixed. Even though it was easily done by the hygienist, Dr. Dunlevy still came in and chatted for a bit and double checked that everything looked great before we left. And, despite the time it took and the fact that we were not a regular client, they performed the procedure free of charge. Thank you to all the staff and Dr. Dunlevy!
