Orthodontic treatment is only as great as the orthodontists performing it, and we believe that we have two of the finest! We want to introduce you to our two outstanding orthodontists, the father-son duo of Dr. John Oubre and Dr. Matthew Oubre!

Dr. John Oubre graduated from Louisiana State Universitys dental school in 1980, and in 1982, earned his orthodontic degree from there as well. Since 1982, he has been providing his patients with exceptional comprehensive orthodontic care.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 1988, Dr. Oubre feels its essential to stay on the cutting-edge of orthodontics. He maintains memberships in many prestigious professional organizations to keep up-to-date on all the latest techniques and technologies. He has been a member of the American Association of Orthodontics since 1982, and he is a past president of the Louisiana Association of Orthodontics. He is currently in the Roth Study Group and a member of the Roth Williams International Society of Orthodontics.

In his personal life, Dr. Oubre is married to Jeannie Wedemeyer, who also has a dental degree. They have five children: Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Olivia, and James. Away from the office, Dr. Oubre enjoys playing golf and participating in his childrens many activities.

After graduating from the Louisiana State Universitys School of Dentistry in 2014, Dr. Matthew Oubre returned to LSU School of Dentistrys Department of Orthodontics to receive his degree in orthodontics and a Masters of Science in Dentistry in 2017. While in residency, Matthew received various distinctions, including the J. Jerome Hebert Award from the Louisiana Association of Orthodontists for outstanding achievement in 2016, followed by the James P. Bordelon Memorial Award for clinical excellence in orthodontics in 2017. Shortly after, in July of 2017, Dr. Matt joined our practice. Hes now an active member of the American Association of Orthodontics as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2019. He has continued to carry on our practices extensive legacy of exceptional orthodontic treatment!

In his personal life, Dr. Matthew is married to Stephanie Vu, who also has her dental degree, and together they have a son, Allen, who was born in 2018. While away from the office, he enjoys playing with Allen and Gizmo, the family dog, traveling, graphic design, and rooting for the Saints, Tigers, and Cajuns in the fall!

Our staff is trained and skilled, and each member of our team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.

Orthodontic Specialization: While many dental professionals may offer some kinds of orthodontic treatment, our office consists of certified orthodontic specialists. Certification requires all the training general dentists need, plus several years of post-graduate training in orthodontics. We focus solely on orthodontics so that we can provide you with the most effective and long-lasting treatment.

Individual Treatment: At our office, youre more than a number youre part of our dental family! We create personalized, individual treatment plans for each patient so that we deliver only the best results!

Talented Staff: Our orthodontic treatment options mean very little without a competent, qualified staff to deliver them. Thats why we take pride in our professional and courteous staff. We are also customer-oriented, and work hard to make sure you feel comfortable and at-home in our office!

Centralized Location: Unlike some orthodontic practices, which have offices strewn out over several cities or even counties and states, we have one central location that we see our patients in. Our prime location gives you easy access to your orthodontic professionals whenever you need it no hunting down doctors or staff across multiple offices!

Retention: Getting your teeth straight doesnt mean much if they dont stay that way! We want you to enjoy your new smile for a lifetime, which is why the cost of a retention system is included with your orthodontic treatment.

Sterilization: We know that being safe and comfortable in our office is your biggest concern, which is why we follow the strictest guidelines for bacterial control and sterilization set by groups such as the CDC and OSHA. We employ disposable tools and materials whenever feasible, and what tools must be re-used are always thoroughly cleaned and sterilized between each patient.

Dr. Oubre was great when I had my braces over 20 years ago. Would not have trusted my sons to anyone else! Staff is great and very thorough. Now that Dr. Matt Oubre has joined the team, I hope they are still around for my grandchildren also! Thanks for giving us beautiful smiles.
