Ottley Smiles Family Dentistry consists of two brothers, Dr. Jared Ottley and Dr. Jonathan Ottley, and Dr. Jareds wife, Dr. Karina Ottley. The family values that are instilled in the Ottley Family are also the guidelines we use in our family practice. We pride ourselves in maintaining the same kind of close knit bond we share as a family with our patients.

You will notice that both Drs. Jared and Karina have the FAGD designation after their names. What does this mean? A general dentist who is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and exemplifies to other dentists the importance of quality continuing dental education. To earn the FAGD, a dentist must complete a minimum of 500 continuing dental education credit hours, pass a comprehensive exam and have been an AGD member for three continuous years.

I arrived on time and was met by my Dental Assistant on time. Exceptional cleaning. Very thorough and congenial. Congeniality of the person cleaning my teeth is very important as I know anyone she works with will be totally at ease and comfortable.

Any doctor's visit where I don't get stuck with a needle is a good visit. As it turns out the dentist I'm seeing is known for giving painless shots. How lucky am I??

My son had swelling in his cheek and was put on antibiotics from an urgent care visit and told us to follow up with his dentist because it is probably an abscess. Made an appt with the dentist and had them do an exam and X-rays and was told they didn't see anything and to keep an eye on it. Fast forward a week or two and my son developed an abscess. Here is where things get ridiculous. I call Ottley and the front desk (Jenna) answers and basically tells me that his dentists doesn't have any openings until after March 25th (there was one appt available within the hour that I just physically could not make it on time to) I asked if an abscess is dangerous and needs to be seen immediately which she responds with yes he needs to be seen soon. I ask since we were just in there not too long ago for an exam and X-rays can we come in and just have someone else drain it since it is an emergency and he shouldn't wait until his specific dentist is available. She tells me no that only his dentist can see him and she is the dentist that sees children. I asked her so I have to go to a whole new establishment (find someone willing to take a new patients and go through the whole procedure) because no one else is willing to drain his abscess even though it is needed and Ottley didn't find it their exam. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that if his dentist isn't there, they won't help us! I understand if they were just booked out but that isn't the case (from what was told to me.) UPDATING due to the offices reply! The same day appt was made but for within the hour and I wouldn't be able to make it. I took the appt hoping I could move mountains but it wasn't possible. HOWEVER, I didn't call and cancel minutes before the appointment that is a straight up lie. When told there was only one appointment within the hour I made the appt and canceled within 5-10mins after making the appointment because I desperately wanted to make that appointment time but knew I physically couldn't make it there within the hour. I was able to call back and speak to another girl at the desk (heather) and she was able to listen and get us schedule for two days later. I was given a follow up call from his actual dentist and was left feeling at ease. I changed my rating because it obviously was one persons lack of concern that made me leave that review but clearly the office has more understanding people!

I like the dentist no question at all.. This time I'm just so fed up with all the resched appointments.. when our co pay change and we just missed a day or 2 or say a week on payment. They will definitely call you.. "of course... that's money lol"... but if they miss my appointment.. they wont call me! At all.. I just suddenly be confused. For the first year.. theres no month I've been NoT be reminded! I love it.. because on my so busy sched.. I love the calls to remind about the appointment.. but I miss my other month again on appointment then no one is calling me.." hey u miss it but we got your money"... that was a rude call" were also busy reminding everyone" wow.. but if I miss the payment.. your not busy reminding me huh! Before they will call me at the last minute.. "you have an appointmet.. even my husband they will call him.. that's nice.. but now.. yes.. it's my fault.. but also be considerate... were all busy.. How about those covid times.. they miss my appointments and they will say. "Were full.. so we cant put everyone on full sched... but .. the payment is monthly automatic... hows that. It should be ..you get paid when u have the service. Not automatically charge even if you dont do anything... but it is what it is.. I'm sorry... it's my bad...relying on good service then suddenly sloppy...then blame on me.. I forgot. . Sorry like I said I'm used to a good service .. this happened to me.. 3 times right now.. if the dentist didnt text me.. I wont know.. that's why he hired those people to do their job.. a 30 secs call wont affect their time at all.. not blaming the customer .. it's my fault.. how about the money u recieved you didnt do anything...

Worst dentist and staff I have ever dealt with. My husband got an impacted wisdom tooth extracted, still bleeding profusely after 24 hours, had to call 3 times before they finally said bring him in, dentist hurt him worse by grabbing his jaw and twisting!! No pain meds at all!! Told him to take Tylenol and Motrin , googled it, web MD says no Tylenol !!

Office staff is extremely rude. They don't seem to mind keeping you waiting. And apparently have a policy of cancellation if you are 10 minutes late to your appointment. But beware if you are 9 minutes late they will cancel you too. Most businesses have some mutual respect for their patients time and don't tell them they reschedule after 10 minutes when only 9 have passed. Nor do they do so in such gleeful and disrespectful ways that seem to relish inconveniencing the customers that pay their salary. Actually think this was done vindictively because I objected when I was told that I would probably have to come in for an evaluation and then come back again for a filling. This is surely a ploy to maximize billing at the expense of your patient's time and convenience---which is just as valuable as yours.

Got an implant put in back in 2020 and went back twice because I was having issues of a smell coming from that tooth. Kept being told there was nothing wrong and finally referred me to Pensacola periodontics who then found out that there was indeed a problem with the implant and it needs to cleaned and will cost me over $600. I contacted Ottley and they said they are not responsible even though the implant was placed by them. They don't not take care of their customers !!!!!

I have been going to Ottley smiles for about three years now and I finally made the decision to find someone new. To begin with, I've only actually seen the Dentist at 2-3 of my routine appointments, the other times a hygienist just cleaned my teeth and I did not see a provider. When I did see a provider it was for about 3 minutes tops. I have fairly healthy teeth so I only go every six months, however thorough examination would have been appreciated. Also, their scheduling is AWFUL. If you try and reschedule your six month appointment when it comes close to time, good luck!! Each time I've tried they can't see me again until 3-4 months later, delaying my routine care. The dental hygienists I've seen have been wonderful! Sadly, though, the providers are very busy and impersonal, the practice is overbooked and, in my opinion, overrated. OH and your first visit, you will not get a cleaning, you'll have to (try) and make another appointment for that. Double the billing
