Dr. WILLIAM OTT has been serving the North Hills for over 40 years. Dr. Ott continues to improve his skills by taking continuing education courses each year. He specializes in all phases of prosthetic dentistry and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMJD). Dr. Ott has completed over 250 units of continuing education studying TMJD at the PANKEY INSTITUTE. He has attended implant courses from specialists across the country.
Dr. Ott graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992. Since that time, he has been practicing with his father Dr. William Ott. Committed to on-going education, Dr. Ott takes over 30 hours of Continuing Dental Education courses each year. He has taken courses through the American Dental Association, the University of Pittsburgh, the PANKEY INSTITUTE, and the Pittsburgh Dental Network (PDN). Dr. Gordon is a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association and the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania.
Our professional team includes a front desk coordinator, three hygienists and two assistants. Our team members have been trained to excel in their field and are committed to providing you the highest care.

Ott Family Dentistry removes all reasons that one might have for not going to the dentist. Having avoided regular trips to the dentist but ultimately fearing the consequences (as well as prodding by my Dad), I made the commitment to start taking care of my teeth. Staff are wonderful - nonjudgemental, friendly and professional. Dr Ott is very skilled and work to this point has been pain free. Care is always taken to make sure the patient is comfortable. Finally, this practice keeps a schedule so rarely have I ever had to wait beyond my appointment time.

The best dentist and team that I have ever been with, in short they were able to remove underlying buildup that had been causing inflammation for years, and they were extremely patient with me, taking the extra time to explain anything I had questions about. I am so grateful for their expertise, patienece, and genuine concern. Highly recommend if you have had neutral or painful/rushed experiences in the past. They will take care of you. My insurance did cover the visit, but even if it didn't I would return and gladly pay out of pocket!

I have been a patient of Ott Family Dentistry for more than three decades! Dr. William Ott was my dentist for many years and then Dr. Gordon Ott. My husband, son, and daughter-in-law are patients there also. The Ott practice is the best you will ever find anywhere. I have had some challenges with my teeth, which Dr. Ott was able to fix and I never had any problems afterwards. I actually look forward to going to the dentist! Everyone on the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to make you feel comfortable. This team will help you maintain good dental health and a nice smile.

I've been going here since I was a kid, and now as a young adult, I still go here. The office space is always extremely clean and tidy, and Dr. Ott is GREAT at communicating. I have a bit of anxiety, so having him tell you exactly what's happening is a relief. He even goes into the scientific explanations behind devices, if you ask. He has a gentle, intelligent demeanor, and you can tell he and his staff really care for their patients. For those without dental insurance- I got a regular cavity filled for under $200 (I think it was $155?). So if you are on a budget, at least in my experience, this place is both extremely friendly, high-quality, and surprisingly affordable.

Dr. Ott and his staff are truly amazing!! He guided my elderly mother thru the process of getting dentures made and was so kind and compassionate. He explained everything to both of us, and was always concerned about her best possible outcomes. The office is spotless, and appointments were always on time.

Dr. Ott observed things no other dentist I have had noticed. He then went into treatment options, none of which would have benefited him, as it was not his specialty. He was extremely thorough. The last time I had a dentist this goos was when he was a family friend. I couldn't be more pleased, I feel Dr. Ott treats you like family.

Dr. Ott has been our family dentist since we moved to this area in 2017 and all my family love him. His knowledge and skills in treating different teeth problems are great (no pain, no discomfort, beautiful work and always quickly respond to our problems). Another reason that I like to see him because he and his staffs could be always patient to discuss with us about our teeth problems, answer our questions and treat us like their family. A few month ago, I had a cute TMJ which bothered me very much- I couldn't sleep well and even open my mouth. I really appreciate that they could make an appointment for me in the same day and released all my pain soon. Highly recommend!

My dentist retired. I went to another not too long after that. More than a year ago I complained about a tooth ache around one of my implants. He took an x-ray and said there was no problem. I decided to switch dentists because the person that cleans my teeth came to work for Dr Ott. My tooth ache came and went several times over the last year. But last week it really fired up so knowing that I was going to have my teeth cleaned at Dr Ott's I called and said I need to see Doc right away because I was in pain. They got me in right away. Dr Ott took an x-ray and said I had a very bad infection in a tooth under a crown that was dying and he needed to start a root canal right away. This past Tuesday he did half and got me back in today. He finished it but said that it was so bad and should have been looked at sooner. I'm told you can die from this type of infection. He also saved the crown on that tooth and worked behind it. This was probably the least amount of pain I ever experienced with a root canal. I've had 2 in my life including today's. I'm so thankful to have found my forever dentist. Please don't retire any time soon Doc...please. I highly recommend his practice.

Dr. Gordon Ott is kind, skillful, and fast. I could not believe that he was filling quite a substantial cavity because I felt nothing. The office space is bright and beautiful. The reviews here are no exaggeration. I am grateful to him and his staff, who persist in serving the community despite the pandemic. Thank you, Ott Family Dentistry!

I agree with the reviews that say 5 stars is not enough. Gordon Ott and his team are gentle and careful. Dr. Ott is very experienced and also a very good communicator - I'm always well informed about next steps and their reasons. Also, the office is run well, with reminders for appointments and never a long wait in the waiting room. My teeth are getting the best care they have ever had!
