As a native Wisconsinite and experienced dentist with well over 20 years of experience, Dr. Heil certainly knows how to help his local community smile brighter. Dr. Heil has always enjoyed biology, and he found himself interested in healthcare from a young age, although dentistry was not included at first. It was during a routine cleaning while he was home for spring break in college that his family dentist first asked if hed ever considered joining the dental field.
At the time, Dr. Heil laughed off the suggestion, but later on, he chose to observe his dentist in the dental office for a week since he had no friends at home to hang out with. During that week, he learned that there was so much more to dentistry than hed ever known before. It was a career that combined science and art, which were both areas he felt passionate about! The rest, they say, is history.
After completing his undergraduate degree at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, Dr. Heil pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota. He also underwent a General Practice Residency at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Over the years, hes completed advanced training in dental sleep medicine and DOCS certification for sedation dentistry, along with various continuing education courses in all areas of general care. He is a current member of the American Dental Association, Wisconsin Dental Association, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Heil and his wife of over 20 years have four children together: Tyler, Drew, Erik, and Dane. The last member of their family is Stella, a Labradoodle! When he isnt busy at work, he enjoys (but doesnt necessarily claim to be good at) fishing and hunting. He and the kids go deer hunting, pheasant hunting in South Dakota, and fishing during an annual trip to Canada. He finds it more enjoyable to watch them catch birds and fish better yet, he can claim to be an excellent guide when they succeed.
As for other hobbies, Dr. Heil likes to relax in a boat, go waterskiing/tubing, and keep up with his kids various sporting activities, especially hockey. Even though he never played competitively himself, its enlightening and rewarding to be involved with coaching them. The ongoing commitment to learn a sport is a lot like dentistry! Occasionally, the family is able to squeeze in a family vacation between sports seasons too.
The team at Oshkosh Complete Dentistry has been serving the community not just since Dr. Vu, but for many, many years. Emma has an impressive 10+ years of experience in the dental field, and weve been proud to have her on our team for all of them! Since becoming a certified dental assistant, she has continued to expand her expertise through continuing education courses. She loves getting to know each patient, helping them understand their needs, and ensuring they feel good about the decisions they make regarding their oral health.
Born and raised here in Oshkosh, Emma is one of four siblings. Outside of dentistry, her interests include running, walking, hiking, and camping just about anything that allows her to enjoy the great outdoors.
Amy completed her studies at Fox Valley Technical College before entering the field of dentistry. In the last two decades, she has helped patients improve their oral health and their smile as both a dental assistant and dental hygienist. All these years later, she is just as passionate about helping each patient achieve their oral health goals while developing genuine relationships with them!
Janet graduated from Fox Valley Technical College with an associate degree in dental hygiene, and she has since spent her days helping patients enjoy improved oral health and beautiful smiles! Continuing education is important for her, which is why she has earned certifications in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. When asked, she shared the best part of her job is providing exceptional, individualized care to each patient and helping them achieve their personal oral health goals.
Janet and her husband are a blended family with four adult children. Her interests outside of dentistry include watching her twin sons at the racetracks, camping around Wisconsin, traveling, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Rachel was born and raised right here in Wisconsin! She moved to Oshkosh to attend dental assisting school at Fox Valley Technical College. Since joining our team, her favorite part of her job has been greeting each patient and helping them have the enjoyable dental experience they deserve.

When gum disease has progressed past the gingivitis stage, deep cleaning is needed to stop the infection from spreading. This includes scaling, a process where calcified plaque (or tartar) is removed from enamel both above and underneath the gum tissue. The second step of deep cleaning treatment is root planing, which helps the tooth roots reattach to the gum tissue and reduces further gum recession moving forward. Those in need of deep cleaning treatment will need to visit us once every three to four months to confirm the disease does not come back.

Our family is very grateful for the excellent dental care we receive at Oshkosh Complete Dentistry. Dr. Heil and his staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. We were previously patients of Dr. Vu who retired, who was also excellent. We are happy that Dr. Heil has continued that high quality standard of care. UPDATE: Dr Vu is no longer working at Oshkosh Complete Dentistry. I do not anything about the new dentist. The following review pertains to Dr. Vu's work. "I used to have a filling that had become stained. It was near my front tooth so it always looked like I had food caught between my teeth. I had hesitated to get it replaced because so often the "fix" is worse than the original problem. Dr Vu replaced a stained filling and it looks completely natural. I honestly did not know dental work could blend so easily into the surrounding tooth material. I already knew he was terrific at routine dental work (both my adult children wait until they visit home to see him, because they can't find anyone they like as much where they live--and they both live in big cities). But now I know he is a master at cosmetic work too. In addition, he doesn't scare you into getting unnecessary work done. My daughter had gone to a dentist in California who said she needed hundreds of dollars of work. Dr Vu said she needed a single sealant replaced. I can't recommend him highly enough."

Best dentist ever. I used to hate dentists. Unfortunately though, I had to have extensive dental work done, and Dr. Vu was recommended. Dr. Vu was the best choice I could have ever made. He has incredible skills as a dentist, using the most perfect work to create the most perfect smiles. He labored intensely over each detail that went into making my broken smile beautiful. Nothing was ever done sloppy or half-best. I cannot tell you the countless number of late evenings and lunch breaks he has spent caring for me during that time. He puts his patient's well-being first. Now I have been going to Dr. Vu for over a decade, and I can say confidently that he has done a fabulous job. Not only is he a brilliant dentist, but he is also one of the kindest, most compassionate men I know. He genuinely cares about his patients, their well-being, and even their finances. Even though I no longer have insurance that covers me under his care, I still chose to go back to him for his outstanding skill and kindness. He has helped to make things affordable, while never compromising care. In addition, his staff are truly the most wonderful people. They remember me by name, care about my life, and love to work together. It's a wonderful place to have the most complicated dental work done (and let me tell you, mine was complicated) or just to have a simple cleaning, exam, or cavity filled (mine was painless, by the way). I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a dentist to go to Dr. Vin Vu. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Vu has done extensive work on my teeth. I suffered a fall in 2002. Dr. Vu designed and placed beautiful veneers on my damaged teeth. He has been my dentist since then. Had a crown put on today. Dr. Vu works to give his patients the best options at the most reasonable price. Always compassionate. Thanks Dr. Vu.

Dr vin vu is the best dentist I have ever seen. He is very caring and understanding, and he does great work. I even trusted him fill a cavity without novacaine and it did not hurt at all. I don't think I will ever find another dentist that I trust as much as him.

We have been patients of Dr. Vin Vu for several years. Recently, I had a veneer fall off, on a Sunday night! The veneer had been completed 12 years prior by a previous dentist. Dr Vin Vu, and his thoughtful, caring team, got me in the next morning. I was so impressed with the empathy they showed, knowing it would have been embarrassing to go to work with a missing veneer. And, the placement of the veneer looks better than it did before! Fancy offices with expensive coffee machines can't replace outstanding skill and attention to detail. I for one, would prefer a dentist who stays current on the latest equipment and skills, and leaves the fancy coffee to Starbucks. Would recommend Dr. Vin Vu to EVERYONE.

I asked for recommendations to see a new dentist (who is also an expert at cosmetic work as well) on my Facebook. I had an overwhelming number of people tell me to go see Dr. Vu. My first appointment was very thorough and informative. Dr. Vu including his staff were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I scheduled my initial appointment in June and was told there was no availability until late August. Luckily, because they knew I was a teacher and the school year would be very busy, they were able to get me in a few times this summer already. I have never been to a dentist where the doctor actually spends about 90% of the visit with you! Usually it's the dental assistant/hygienist doing most of the work. Dr. Vu did an exceptional work on a few different teeth that needed work on, but my biggest concern was my front tooth. Not only was my front tooth decayed but chipped at an angle & up so deep into my gums, that it took him 3.5 hours to work on. I have been going to different dentists throughout the last 20 years to get the tooth filled every few years; every time it was very difficult for the dentists to make a miracle happen. This is the first time in over 20 years that I am able to smile confidently & love the way my front tooth looks! The quality works & craftsmanship was just exceptional. The color matches the rest of my teeth & you can't even tell how badly chipped my tooth was! This is a great facility with very knowledgeable & friendly staff. I'd highly recommend people to trust in the work of Dr. Vu & his staff! I've committed to a long-term dentist now!
