Dr. Peguero was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where he attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. After graduating third in his class from Belen in 2001, he received the prestigious Chancellors Scholarship to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience and Spanish Literature. Dr. Peguero then proceeded to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2009 and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Upon completion of dental school, he remained in Boston, Massachusetts, and began his specialty training in the Department of Endodontics at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Endodontics in June 2011.
In July 2011, Dr. Peguero returned to Miami to embark on his professional career. He is delighted and blessed to be reunited with his family and friends, once again in the warm and sunny confines of South Florida. In his new home, Dr. Peguero remains active in local and national dental organizations, serving as a member of the American Assocation of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the South Florida District Dental Association. He is also actively pursuing board certification in endodontics, having successfully attained the status of Board Eligible Endodontist, American Board of Endodontics, in July.
Dr. Peguero donates time to community service as well, participating annually in the Give Kids A Smile campaign, which provides free dental care and education to under-served children. During his time in Boston, he also volunteered often at the Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a medical/dental facility for homeless youth. Dr. Peguero looks forward to continuing to serve those in need in the South Florida area.

I had a very good experience today with Dr. Oscar Peguero and the rest of the personnel working in the office. I was there for a root canal and I didn't feel any pain. Dr. Peguero has the experience and the professionalism to perform his job. The anesthesia process was amazing I would recommend this place to my family and friends, for sure.

I was referred to Dr. Peguero, having sudden tooth sensitivity. The nicest staff waited for my arrival-5pm, immaculately clean office, all COVID protocols in place. Several X-rays taken and a full assessment was done by Dr. Peguero. Fortunately nothing was wrong and he wanted to ensure "piece of mind" over the weekend. A huge thank you for seeing a new patient, kindness and compassion radiating throughout the whole office, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend Dr. Peguero and his staff to anyone looking for an outstanding experience at a dental office. Thanks for going out of your way on my behalf.

Was not looking forward to having a root canal in the least. Put it off several times. When I finally got the nerve to go- I could not have been more pleased with the service from the office staff and doctor. Everyone worked to make me feel at ease and the doctor insured I was comfortable and pain free. He continually asked how I was doing and monitored me for any discomfort, and his assistant was so compassionate as I was so very nervous. Trust me on this- he's the doctor and that's the office you want to go to if you need a root canal.

I had a rather difficult procedure I had to have done and I admit I was afraid. But Dr. Peguero and his staff quickly made me feel at ease. Dr P is awesome! And he even made me laugh a couple times during the procedure. He works quickly and with precision and the results were excellent! I highly recommend Dr. Peguero and his staff who are also super nice and efficient! It is a very pleasant environment.This is definitely the best place to go for your dental needs. I had a root canal done on my back molar. No pain felt during the procedure and he is very careful and gentle to your needs and concerns.

Came in with severe tooth pain, for two weeks. Doc, took me in last minute on a Friday. By the time the anesthesia wore off, I was pain free!! And for those of you that are scared of getting injections and did not feel the pinch, not even on the roof of the mouth, where it hurts the most. Highly recommend! This doc Rocks!!

I am a physician and was referred to Dr. Peguero by my dentist due to a complaint of a painful tooth. I was concerned about possibly needing a root canal. His office and office staff were fantastic. He performed x rays, various tests and assured me that the tooth was healthy. The pain resolved. He is an excellent doctor and I will be sure to return if I should ever need an Endodontist. Highest Recommendation!

Dr. Peguero is literally the best medical professional I've ever visited. Unlike most doctors, he was very patient and took as much time as I needed to answer all of my questions, explain everything is great (and very competent) detail, and hear me out. Ultimately, this resulted in a much more insightful prognosis than I've been getting from every other dental professional (total of 3 others) that I've visited for the same issue. Instead of carelessly assuming my situation was the same old same old and merited the traditional remedy, he scrutinized the details, applied his exceptional expertise, and figured out the actual solution to my dilemma where so many others failed. Thank you, Dr. P. His staff was also very attentive and welcoming. Their facility seems have top notch technology and is very clean. I could not recommend their practice with higher regard.

I had a root canal procedure with Dr. Oscar J. Peguero, Jr. DMD. I had never met Dr. Peguero before, but I was referred to him by my dentist. Dr. Peguero was a consummate gentleman and professional. He was on time, courteous, knowledgeable and skilled. The root canal was performed without discomfort. His office staff was friendly, kind and considerate, and made me feel comfortable during my time in the office. I also felt very safe because of thoughtful and strict office practices in light of the pandemic. I highly recommend Dr. Peguero. I have had several root canal procedures with other practitioners, but Dr. Peguero is the best Endodontist I have ever encountered, and I cannot imagine anyone better.
