I was first attracted to orthodontics because it allows me to tap into my artistic passions. I feel very fortunate to be able to help the people in my community gain confidence and self-esteem, as well as a Hollywood smile they can be proud to show off. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, and the friendships that Ive built with my patients and their families are one in a million.
My favorite day is the day when your braces come off, we see your final remarkable result together, and I get the happy smile on your face. I love my work because it can change lives both physically and emotionally. I have seen many patients transform from being introverted people, seemingly afraid of opening their mouths, to smiling extroverts after treatment.
When I finished college, I was accepted by both medical and dental schools. My instincts led me to follow my older brother, who is a cosmetic dentist and endodontist. I finished my professional education atHoward University, where I finished my residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in 1995. Through scholarship and academic excellence, I was able to move ahead and finish at the age of 23 to becomethe youngest licensed and certified orthodontist in the country.
I am involved with several orthodontic study groups that help me stay up to date with the newest technological advances in my field. I am also a member of many professional associations that keep me involved with the greater orthodontic and dental communities; I am a member ofthe following organizations: American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Diego CountyDental Society, and San Diego Academy of Orthodontists.
Since graduation, I have committed myself to learning new techniques and skills through continuing education and professional collaboration. I have put in thousands of hours, paying special attention to orthodontic developments in the US and abroad.
I have greatly benefited by learning from the Japanese for their work with correcting underbites and Europeans for their work with overbites, overjets, and functional appliances like twin blocks. I am one of the few orthodontists in the Metroplex who has extensive experience in treating patients with cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies.
I always keep in mind that my orthodontic work affects your overall oral health. I believe that oral health affects people far beyond their mouths and jaw lines. It includes my orthodontic work and your overall dental health plan. Therefore, all treatments are designed individually to meet your needs with an eye to the whole picture. I will take the time to explain my recommendation, listen to your concerns, and answer any questions.
Furthermore, my work is meant to have a lifelong impact. I believe educating you on how to care for your new smile is the key. My staff and I will spend time instructing you on how to keep your jaw in tiptop shape. We will provide you with whatever tools and information packets you need, and will always be available for further questions as they arise.
I had a childhood of international proportions. Born in India, I moved to Canada withmy family when I was seven. Then two years later, we moved to Mexico, and finally we settled down in the US. My father, a double Ph.D. in plant breeding and plant genetics, is internationally recognized for his achievements and his published articles and books. Hiswork moved us all over.
My mother had a degree in teaching. To her, my education was the number-one priority and that inspired me to work very hard at school and ranked first in all levels, from elementary to dental school. I also received some prizes and scholarships, including some from the governor and the President.
I have lived in San Diegofor the past23 years with my wife and two children.I love to travel and have visited more than 25 countries. My brother and my sister-in-law fromVirginia are also dentists, and when we all meet, fortunately or unfortunately we only talk about dentistry!
I value my community and life in general, so I am involved withquite a few nonprofits. I have a soft spot for childrenour futureso I help as much as I can to give all children the same opportunities I had. I sponsor 20 to 25 children every year to be involved in sports and other school activities. I donate to charities in India that support underprivileged children and orphanages. I am also a lifelong vegetarian, animal activist, and contributor to PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Dr. Geoff Kopecky is an Orthodontist with over 25 years experience as a certified specialist for adults and children. He has been most recently recognized Top Doc San Diego by Channel 5 Fox News voted by his peers and patients.
Dr. Kopecky received his Orthodontic specialty training at the prestigious Eastman Dental Center, Rochester, N.Y. where he was president of his class. He completed two fellowships, hospital based advanced dentistry residency programs at both Strong Hospital-Eastman Dental Center, N.Y. and The Genesee Hospital, N.Y. where he was appointed to the Childrens Department Craniofacial Anomaly and Cleft palate team for 3 years.
He brings a wealth of experience as well as a professional artistic eye for individualized optimum aesthetic results. Excellence through passion, academics and artistry merge as one. His greatest reward is improving a persons lifestyle by making people look better and feel better about themselves.
Dr. Torin Chenard has ten years of experience as an orthodontist. His favorite part of being an orthodontist is seeing his patients' faces when they hear that they are getting their braces removed. It is something that he is truly proud to be a part of.
Dr. Chenard was born in Massachusetts, and moved to Southern California with his family when he was five years old. He spent the rest of his childhood years growing up in Southern California. He attended UCSD for his undergraduate studies where he majored in biology and completed a minor in Spanish literature. He then attended UCLA for dental school and attained his dental license in 2003.
Dr. Chenard also does work as a general dentist from time to time with dental outreach missions. He has done dental mission trips to Nepal, Costa Rica, and Mexico, and he continues to look for more opportunities to volunteer abroad. Dr. Chenard speaks Spanish, and enjoys travelling to countries where he can use his Spanish skills. In his free time, Dr. Chenard enjoys surfing, mountain biking, and free diving.
Dr. Suhasini Sharma has 14 years of experience in the field of dentistry. You will see her forthe removal of braces, bonding of fixed lingual retainers, and delivering expanders and all other appliances. She looks forward to meeting new patients and their families, and taking care of all their orthodontic needs at Orthodontics Unlimited.
It is Dr. Sharmas belief that each child, each person, and each smile is unique, and therefore each treatment must be personalized. There is no treatment that fits all! She considers it a privilege to be involved in each patients care and takes this responsibility very seriously.

I have been receiving Ortho care from Dr.K for about 2 years. From my experience Dr.K is very knowledgeable in the field. He is truly amazing. From the beginning laying out my treatment plan, he explained everything to me very thoroughly and what he would eventually do to fix the structure of my teeth. He has been working with me and providing me with the best point of care. He is very professional, experienced and amazing overall as a person and as a specialist. Dr.K has provided care not only for me but for my family as well. And we all have received the best point of care from him and are very satisfied with his amazing work. Thank you Dr.K for making my dreams a reality with miniature invasion and a lot of hard work, dedication and patience.

Dr. Kuruvadi took care of both my daughter around 15 years ago, and my son these last few years, and we could not have been happier. Dr. Kuruvadi is a true expert in orthodontics, he has incredible knowledge and is very informative regarding the treatment plan. He is very respectful, answers all questions with patience and thoroughness, has a great personal connection with every patient, and always has the patients best interest at heart. All of the staff at the office is extremely kind and helpful, you can really tell how everyone there loves what they do and cares about the patients. I strongly recommend everyone considers Dr. Kuruvadi for their orthodontic treatment, we are so glad we found an orthodontist that really cares for his patients and has incredible expertise.

I love coming to Orthodontist Unlimited. They welcoming staff and orthodontists. They make sure to explain everything to me before going through with the process. They're all very cool people to talk to and I've made lots of bonds with the staff here. They're also amazing at their job!! My teeth look amazing! I've always been self conscious about my teeth, they were able to help make me smile even brighter. I always smile in photos now

I don't even know where to start. I am leaving the office right now with perfectly straight teeth! I was referred to Dr. Kuruvadi by my in laws: my husband, mother in law, and brother in laws all got their braces done by Dr. Kuruvadi and they all have amazing teeth. I've been wanting to get braces for countless years, but no matter how many consultations I've had, the orthodontist just never sat right with me. I instantly felt comfortable with Dr. Kuruvadi and his staff upon first meeting and committed immediately. The staff gives you such a family vibe, and everyone is beyond friendly and attentive. Dr. Kuruvadi and his associates are all understanding, patient, knowledgeable, and so caring. I never felt rushed in his office and they always make themselves available for their patients. They also have a Chula Vista location if that is more convenient for you. Every consultation I've had prior to coming to this office, the orthodontist has told me that I had to get a couple of teeth removed before getting braces, but Dr. Kuruvadi said he was going to get the job done without removing any of my teeth and he delivered! I'm absolutely astonished at how great my teeth look. Him and his associates are miracle workers. I would highly, highly, highly recommend going in for a consultation and you'll see that everything else falls into place after that. Thank you so so so much, Dr. Kuruvadi and staff- I am eternally grateful! Please stay around forever so I can bring my kids to you!
