Dr. Stephen Ely trained at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, where he received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. He graduated first in his class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He stayed on at Harvard to complete his Master of Medical Science and specialty training in orthodontics. During his seven years at Harvard, Dr. Ely received extensive training in medicine, dentistry, and the orthodontic treatment of children and adults.
Dr. Ely earned his undergraduate degree in biology at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA. He graduated as valedictorian of his class and earned Academic All-American honors as a member and captain of the wrestling team.
Prior to starting his practice in Bethlehem, Dr. Ely worked for six years as a partner in a large orthodontic office in Danvers, MA. He is a clinical instructor of orthodontics at Harvard University and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Ely is also a member of the Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Lehigh Valley Dental Society, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Ely moved to Bethlehem to be nearer to his parents and open his own practice. He resides in Bethlehem with his wifeHertaand their son George. In addition to practicing orthodontics, Dr. Ely enjoys martial arts, weightlifting, cycling, cooking, fishing, and rooting for the Boston Red Sox!
I am one of Dr. Elys chairside assistants, and work to help put braces on, change wires, take X-rays and photographs, and bond loose brackets. I love getting to know our patients on a personal level and watching as they progress throughout their treatments with confidence. In the time Ive been with this office, its been great to see the transformation of our patients smiles and the confidence it gives them. My husband, Aaron, and I have one son named Jack and a daughter named Ella. I love volunteering for my childrens sports and activities.
I joined OLV in 2009, and brought with me over 20 years of experience in orthodontics. Ive really enjoyed getting to meet so many people and making such a huge difference in their lives. Dr. Ely is a great person and an awesome doctor. The team here gets along really well and it's a fun atmosphere for patients. I love my job, and when Im not here, I love my family and spending my time shoe shopping!

My name is Senada. I am originally from Montenegro. I was introduced to orthodontics when I came to the USA. I've been in the field of orthodontics for 10 years and enjoy interacting with patients of all ages and seeing the patients end result. I love spending time with friends and family and like to cook and bake when I'm at home.
I worked as a chairside assistant for nine years before transitioning to the front desk, so I have the experience needed to fill both positions whenever needed. The best part of my job is watching the transformations that patients go through, and seeing how excited they are with their end results. I enjoy working with my team because everyone gets along well and we are all here to help each other. We are friends inside and out of work, too! I am married and have three children: Jaxsen, Benjamin, and Hillary. I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and going to the beach in the summertime.

My daughter started with Dr. Ely when she was just 8 years old. She needed expanders and braces. Yesterday, she got her braces off! She is thrilled with the results of the work Dr. Ely and his great staff put into her mouth. I recommend them and their office every chance I get. I could not be happier about the tremendous service of everyone from the moment you walk in the door. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable about their profession, but they are super nice, too! Thanks to all!!

Dr.Ely and his staff are excellent people. I had went back in 2014 for braces. Everytime coming in the receptionist always remembered me very sweet and welcoming. I had recently finished my Invisalign treatment with them. Great work they do here, I would recommend any one that are looking to fix their smile.

We are beyond Happy, Pleased and excited for the amazing orthodontic work on our sons teeth. He had the braces removed today and they are perfect!!! Every visit our son was greeted with a smile at the front desk and greeted just the same in the back with Dr. Ely and all the assistants. Our son has some anxieties but Dr. Ely and staff have always had the upmost compassion and understanding along with great patience with our son. He is the last of our two children who both had their braces done with Dr. Ely. Our oldest is almost 23 and she still speaks of her great experience when she was a patient years ago. Our youngest will be 13 in just 10 days so this was the best birthday present for him getting his braces off. Thank so Very Much Dr. Ely and all staff !!!!!! Family of Nicholas J

Dr. Ely is a true MASTER of his craft! My son & I both had extremely difficult cases but he took on the challenge and kept us motivated with his positive attitude and chair side education. Had I listened to other dentists, we would not be smiling much these days. However today, both our smiles are both gleaming!!

Yesterday, we had a great experience with Dr. Ely and his staff at Orthodontics of the Lehigh Valley. My son sustained an injury during a soccer game to his teeth. Dr. Ely squeezed him in before closing and stayed late to re-apply braces. His staff was very kind to this worried mom and I can't thank them enough!
