Orthodontics is a long-term commitment that requires team work between the patient, myself, and my staff. Dr. Roshan Ghazinouri has had a love of the sciences for as long as she can remember, but also wanted to work with people and make a difference in their lives. So, after completing an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, she changed course and went to dental school to be in a health field where she could make an immediate impact on her patients lives. She completed her Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University Dental School and her General Practice Residency at New England Medical Center. Dr. Ghazinouri practiced general dentistry for three years before deciding to specialize in orthodontics, which she did at Tufts University Dental School, earning her Certificate in Orthodontics.

As a healthcare provider, it is very important for Dr. Ghazinouri to be up to date with the latest techniques and scientific developments in her field. It allows her to treat patients in the most effective and efficient way in order to get the best results in the shortest amount of time. Dr. Ghazinouri completes extensive continuing education every year through Invisalign, the Yankee Dental Conference, AAO yearly meetings, Northeast Society of Orthodontics meetings, and many other lectures related to oral health and orthodontics. Dr. Ghazinouri liveswith her husband, two daughters, and theirgolden retriever. When she is not at work, you will find her with her kids orcooking, running, and practicing Yoga. In fact Dr. Ghazinouri and our team have enacted Namaste Friday, when we support our local yoga studio by joining them for a lunch time class!

Our team at Orthodontics of Melrose are very involved with the community here in Melrose. We support many local charities and athletic teams, like the Melrose Alliance against Violence, Melrose Run for Women, and the Melrose High School football team.

Patty began her career in 1974 as a dental lab technician and joined our team in 2005 as our treatment coordinator. Shes one of the first people our new patients come in contact with, as she helps patients and their families understand and navigate through the orthodontic process. Patty loves meeting and building trusting relationships with new patients and their families, almost as much as she loves seeing all our patients smiles!

Pattys free time is spent enjoying the outdoors with her family, six grandchildren, and friends. Her other interests include skiing, snowmobiling, boating, hiking, and spending time in Florida golfing.

Dr. Ghazinouri and our team strive to provide you with a healthy bite to support your beautiful smile. Without a healthy bite, your teeth may not remain straight, eventually causing excessive tooth wear, gum recession, and TMJ problems.

We are greatly saddened to have lost Dr. Robert Angorn on January 13, 2014. Dr. Angorn was a dedicated and passionate orthodontist who established his orthodontic practice in Melrose more than 44 years ago.

Dr. Angorn was an honors graduate of the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, a graduate of the Tufts Post-Graduate Orthodontic Program and a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the National Dental Honor Society. He has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthodontics for the Tufts University Post Graduate Orthodontic Department.

As you all know, I have been fighting an illness since last April. Though I had planned to return to my orthodontic practice along side Dr. Ghazinouri (Dr. G), my recovery is not going as well as originally expected. Sadly, I have come to realize those plans are not possible.

After 47 years of practicing orthodontics, I will be retiring as of today. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have worked with so many terrific young people and their families over the years. Perhaps one of the most rewarding experiences has been having so many former patients grow up and return with their own children for treatment years later! I have truly enjoyed every day in the office, doing what I love, with an outstanding and dedicated staff, Joan, Wendy, Patty, Susan, Lynda, Mary,and Fran and of course, my amazing wife, Ruth.

I am also thankful for the expertise of Dr. G, as she has stepped in gracefully at this difficult time and been able to maintain and further the same outstanding level of care I have always strived for. Dr. G shares my Alma matter as a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with more than thirteen years of experience in treating children as well as adults. The feedback I have received has been overwhelmingly positive, and it has been quite reassuring for me to know you are in such capable hands. In this regard, given my current health situation, I am now stepping aside so that Dr. G may officially take over the practice and focus full time on keeping the beautiful smiles coming from 21 East Emerson Street.

I want to thank you all for your patience and warm wishes during this challenging time. Please also know how thankful I am for the many wonderful memories we've made over the years, from the first time my many patients see the Treasure Chest to the Halloween Contests, Bike raffles, and more. I am highly confident that with Dr. G, there are many more great memories and beautiful smiles to be made.
