Dr. Mel was born and raised in Los Angeles. She grew up with three siblings her age, as she is part of a set of quadruplets. She completed both her undergraduate and dental school studies at UCLA as a top student of her class, earning her several awards including an award for Excellence in Patient Comprehensive Care. She later completed her three-year post-graduate residency program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and also Masters of Business Administration at Roseman University of Health Sciences.
Her priority is to listen to the needs of her patients and customize treatment for them. As an orthodontist, she doesnt just realign teeth; she treats her patients as individuals with unique needs, so they can have a healthy, long-lasting smile. She hopes to make every experience at Orthodontics LA easy and enjoyable for patients.
When shes not helping patients at her office in Encino, Dr. Mel spends time trying different types of food throughout Los Angeles. She loves trying new things and learning about the diverse communities here in Southern California. Her appreciation of culture has led her and Dr. Artin to travel the world, stopping at destinations such as Greece and France!
Dr. Artin was raised in a family with a legacy of dental professionals. When he was a young boy, he would spend his summers observing his uncle, who practiced as a general dentist and also working hands-on with his father, who owns a dental laboratory. Thus, the love to provide care and dentistry was instilled in him from a very young age.
He pursued this passion for dentistry by going to UCSD for his Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and Loma Linda Dental School. Afterward, Dr. Artin completed a one-year post-graduate internship in orthodontics at Roseman University of Health Sciences, while also practicing as a general dentist. He then completed his three-year residency at the school, earning his dual degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics specialty certificate and a Masters of Business Administration. Not only is Dr. Artin highly skilled in the latest technologies in orthodontics, but he also has a radiant personality which makes orthodontist visits fun and relaxing.
Dr. Artin treats patients in both Encino and Glendale. Since he grew up in the area, he is deeply involved in the community in both cities. As a sports enthusiast, he has coached a local basketball league and supports the AYSO soccer team. He is also a member of the Armenian association, helping out whenever he can.

No. Braces are placed on the teeth using special tooth glue called composite which is pain free. You may feel some discomfort for a day or two while your teeth, gums, and cheeks get used to the braces. However, most of our patients have no issues at all!

I was referred by my doctor to the Orthodontist and they had the appointment the same day. As soon as I get there I came out with braces on the service was amazing I have no words to describe how good it feels to be treated like this. They actually know what they are doing and they work very professional l. The employees are very nice everything is clean and it's a good place to get your orthodontist done l. I love it and I will definitely DO RECOMMEND THIA PLACE

beautiful and clean office . great customer service . easy and quick consultation and was able to start my treatment same day . you just need 1st month payment to start and if you don't have it all they will work with you which i really appreciated . happy with my decision to go with orthodontics la !! thank you !! :) LOVE MY GOLD BRACES

Where to start!!! I've been coming to Orthodontics LA for the past 2 years and they have been AMAZING!! From my initial consult with Dr.Artin he and his team where able to break down cost, how long I will keep my braces on for, and explaining the process of them putting the braces on to the time they will take them off. As well as breaking down a payment plan for me. My Favorite part of coming here is that from the moment you walk into the office you get greeted with a warm Hello! From the office staff and that same energy radiates through the back office staff as well. I really appreciated how the medical assistants are fantastic at creating a fun, warm, and welcoming environment for their patients. I was so lucky to have Lorie assist me. As she was the person who put on my braces and was the person to take them off. She always made me smile and made this experience so much more memorable with all the laughs. Dr.Artin has created such an exceptional team that will care for you or your children. I highly recommend coming here. Cause of him and his team; I feel so much more confident with my smile than before. Sorry Doctor for breaking the bell!
