Don't worry, you'll be eating popcorn and snacking on potato chips again in no time! However, before you can start enjoying some of the treats you love, you will need to take special care to avoid any foods that could damage your new appliances.

When you first get your braces, you may notice that your teeth and mouth feel a little tender or sore. This is perfectly normal and we promise your mouth will not be sore forever! To relieve the pain, we recommend dissolving one teaspoon of salt in eight ounces of lukewarm water. Swish and gargle this solution in your mouth for just a couple of minutes (do not swallow the saltwater).

If the pain is more severe and does not go away after rinsing, you can also try taking a pain reliever. It is also not uncommon for your lips, cheeks, and tongue to become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become used to the braces. We would be happy to give you some wax that you can put over the braces to lessen the tenderness. If you need some wax, please let us know.

If your teeth begin feeling a little loose, don't worry; this is normal! Your braces must first loosen your teeth to move them into the right position. Once your teeth have been repositioned, they will no longer be loose.

The wires and bands on your braces may come loose. If this happens, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can check and repair your appliance. If any piece of your appliance comes off, be sure to save it and bring it to the office with you.

You can temporarily fix the loose wire by using the back of a spoon or the eraser end of a pencil to carefully and gently push the wire back into place. If the loose wire is causing irritation to your lips or cheeks, put wax or a wet cotton ball over the broken wire to relieve the pain.

Damaged appliances can increase the length of your treatment process, so be sure to take care of all your appliances. Your teeth and jaw can only move into their correct positions if you consistently wear the rubber bands, headgear, retainer, or other appliances prescribed by your doctor.

Game, Set, Match we have great news for athletes! You can still play sports even while undergoing orthodontic treatment! If you do play sports, it's recommended that you wear a mouthguard to protect your teeth and your appliance. Let your doctor know if you need help finding the right mouthguard for the best protection.

In case of a sports emergency, be sure to immediately check your mouth and appliance for damage. If you notice any loose teeth or appliance damage, please contact our office right away. You can temporarily relieve the discomfort by applying wax or rinsing your mouth with warm saltwater.

Dr. HEALD and his staff are amazing. I was 56 when I had braces and the experience was amazing. They make you feel at home and I was scared to death even though I worked for an Endodontist. Lol. It was the easiest process ever. I highly recommend Dr. Heald and his staff. The office is super clean and his staff are super nice. Getting appointments is easy and they work with you financially. It is worth the trip if you live out of town.

It's a shame that good treatment from the doctors is overshadowed by the buffoons working the front desk and miserable staff. Rude, mean, miserable like a concentration camp. The owners/doctors should find better people.

At first I loved the place the atmosphere was great. Everyone SEEMED NICE. Though appointments went by and everything changed. The attitudes from the front desk lady's are horrific. They have absolutely no customer service ethic. Then have the nerve to go in the hallway where they think they are invisible and can't be heard. Though everyone can hear you talking bad about patients in the waiting area. THE PEOPLE HERE NEED TO BE RE EVALUATED. Being a business owner myself I would never let an employee treat my Clients as how they do here.

Dr. Widmer is an outstanding doctor. I recommend her to anyone and everyone. She's gentle and so kind to everyone that comes in and out to see her. Never fails to make you smile even with tools in your mouth. Crystal the dental assistant is my go-to girl! She has always been my dental assistant for every visit throughout my 2 years of braces. I love her for being so respectful and gentle to my sensitive teeth, and she always makes an effort to make you feel more comfortable when you sit in the chair.

A women in front desk stand up and scream, because my husband and I enter to office without a mask in our faces. Therefore My husband and I don't have any health issues. When the assistant or the Dr treat a patient the person don't have a mask and don't have any social distancing for receive the dental procedures, ok is craziness to imposed a mask, when you need stay more near and that results more dangerous. You are very crazy as the same disney program you had in your office. The CDC don't have the power in the state, but the Governor DeSantis yes, and we let to know about this control and tirany because you can't push me to do something or wear something because is my body, my choice not yours. If you have scared, stay in your home for ever and no bother the people. We are sick and tired of the snowflakes, please if you don't like freedom just must move to California, NY or other banana republic. Okay, ma'am, tell the Dr. if he no provide service, he lost money and you your salary. Don't California my Florida. Thank you for nothing.

DO NOT TAKE KIDS HERE IF YOU HAVE THEM! I just had the most RUDEST AND MEANEST obviously very miserable Woman come out wearing glasses and I didn't get her name she only had a mask on but she had her hair up in braids she looks like she was maybe and her 50s however it's just the way that she came at me was super unexceptable to the point it scared my 8 year old! If you know this location you know there is a Starbucks right next/behind it. For some reason the miserable lady took boxes and blocked off one of the drive thru entrances to Starbucks I didn't even get out of my car before she came out yelling at me saying "i put those boxes there for a reason!" She then turned around to walk back in her work while shaking her head the whole time!

Eh, it's okay, a certain Bridget, whenever I had her do my appointment, would hurt me in some way. For example the first time I had her, she yanked out my tooth by "trying to remove the glue" when there was no glue on there in the first place. She sort of cracked out the tooth when it wasn't ready to come out yet, not completely popped off, but she then proceeded to try to remove it all the way. She failed, but it hurt. A lot. The second time she cut my gums by trying to trim the wire in the back of my mouth, and it bled. I didn't feel very comfortable about being around her, but the other people there are relatively nice.
