Choosing the right orthodontic practice for yourself and your family is an important decision. We feel confident that you will be very satisfied with our consistency of care and excellent results. We welcome you to our practice!
Orthodontics is more than simply straightening teeth. The planning and timing of treatment, attention to detail, and understanding why the patient is seeking our help all factor into creating the perfect custom smile. The trust that our patients have in us is hard to earn and easy to lose. That is why we practice great communication between patients, their dentist, and parents to achieve excellent results. We treat every patient as if they were our own family member with respect, kindness, and integrity.
Dr. Jue finds immense joy in his work as an orthodontist. He is able to bring lasting changes to his patients by developing smiles that improve their self-confidence in every aspect of their life. He does this with a mix of science, art, and an exceptional eye for detail.
To do this on a daily basis brings a smile to Dr. Jues face. That is why he is usually whistling a tune at the office. Not only does he get to work with his wonderful team and exceptional patients, but he gets to dress up in his colorful wardrobe and put on one of his many bowties. (Fun fact he learned how to put on a bowtie from a four-year-old on youtube. It still took him an hour to tie his first semi-satisfactory bowtie.)
Dr. Jue recognizes that his clinical decisions are influenced by past orthodontic research. That is why he is constantly attending CE courses and studying research articles to stay up to date with current and future trends in orthodontics. This ensures that his treatment decisions are based on the most current empirical evidence.
When he is not treating patients, Dr. Jue can be found with his wife hiking, trying new restaurants, wandering through farmer markets, looking for his golf ball among the trees, playing ice hockey, and practicing yoga.
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I love all of our Seattle teams, but I am an avid Seattle Seahawks fan! (#twelfie4life) I have worked in the dental field for over 15 years. I have been a member of Orthodontics Exclusivelyfor over 11 years. I am lucky to work with an amazing team, an outstanding doctor, and patients that always have a smile to share. My biggest joy in life is spending time with my family, friends, and my puppy, Cooper. In my free time I enjoy camping, traveling, and being creative!
I am an orthodontic assistant for Dr. Jue and have been for the past year. I have been in the orthodontic profession since 2003 and have seen the changes in the profession become more positive for patients. I love being able to do something I am passionate about every day, as well as being able to help others gain confidence in their smile. I really enjoy working with such a great doctor and team that is supportive and caring. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling and spending time with my family.
I have worked in several healthcare fields over the years and enjoy orthodontics because it combines the optimization of form and function, which I think is important in all aspects of life. My background also includes many creative endeavors; I really like interior design, dancing and singing. Currently my favorite ways to spend time are reading and going for walks. I grew up in Seattle and am back in the area after a four year adventure in California with my husband. We are happy to be back near friends and family!
Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist before and during orthodontic treatment. Watch the video below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.
For the first month or so, stick to soft foods. Follow the principle of avoiding: hard, chewy, and sticky foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite comfortably again. But you will need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as you are in treatment.
When you first get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and your teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or an analgesic you would normally take for headaches or mild pain. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks after starting orthodontic treatment. However they will toughen up quickly and you will become accustomed to the braces. There will be wax in the orthodontic starter kit we provide to all our patients to lessen their discomfort.
This is to be expected throughout treatment. Dont worry! Its normal. Teeth must loosen first so they can move. The teeth will firm up in their new and corrected positions after treatment is completed.
To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances when prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time. So please, follow our instructions so we can have the most efficient and outstanding results possible!
If you play sports, you should wear a mouth guard whether or not you have braces. Make sure to purchase mouth guards that are specifically made for orthodontic patients. We recommend the mouth guards made by Shock Doctor and they can be purchased from Amazon and some sporting goods stores. Please call ahead to the sporting goods stores to check their availability as they do run out of stock quickly.
