Mary Angelic Gangoy, DMD, is a native New Yorkerwho attended the State University of New York at Albany where she earned a Bachelor of Science. She graduated with honors from Tufts Dental School and earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine before entering her orthodontic residency at Tufts, where she earned a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

During her educational years at Tufts, Dr. Gangoy participated in the universitys research program, at which time she became affiliated with the Robert R. Andrews Research Honor Society and International Association for Dental Research. Upon entering her orthodontic residency, Dr. Gangoy was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the international dental honor society, and awarded the Furman-Rosenberg Scholarship for achieving both clinical and academic excellence.

Dr. Gangoy has served as a representative for her local dental society on the ADA Council on Advocacy for Access and Prevention, and has served on the Wakefield Rotarys board of directors and co-chaired the organizations 20th annual 6K road race.

As a clinician, Dr. Gangoy gains professional satisfaction through providing treatments for children and teens, which positively impacts their course of growth and development. In mastering her skills with more aesthetic orthodontic techniques (such as 3M iBraces and Invisalign), she has developed a niche among adult patients who seek orthodontic treatment. When she discusses treatment options with them, Dr. Gangoy places high value on aesthetic considerations and addressing their chief concerns for seeking treatment.

When shes not in the office, Dr. Gangoy and her husband enjoy family activities such as coaching (or rooting from the sidelines) soccer and hockey games for their two sons. Dr. G. has a love and affinity for interior design and contemporary art work. She is a true admirer of fashion and enjoys staying physically fit by running and attending spin classes.

Dr. McKenna began her education at the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in zoology. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts Dental School, and following that, continued her training as a general practice resident with the United States Navy in San Diego, California.

While in the Navy, Dr. McKenna was selected for orthodontic specialty training and returned to Tufts Dental School where she earned her certificate in postgraduate orthodontics. Prior to entering private practice, she was stationed with the Navy in Naples, Italy as the Command Specialist in Orthodontics.

At Orthodontics by Design, PC, Dr. McKenna offers a vast experience of over thirty years of practice in orthodontic treatment, further enhanced by her background as a general dentist. She believes every patient presents a unique set of challenges with often more than one solution and enjoys working with patients and parents to develop the ideal individual treatment plan. She finds it immensely rewarding to transform a patients smile and, in many cases a patients life through orthodontics.

Sarah became a part of our team in the summer of 2018 and brings with her more than17 years of experience in both dental and orthodontic assisting. She truly enjoys being handson with patient treatment and is highly skilled as a clinical assistant in all aspects. Sarahs enthusiastic and light-hearted personality comes through clearly when she smiles! However, she really shines in the way she engages with young patients; always trying to put them at ease andtrying to make them laugh. She maintains an upbeat atmosphere in the clinic with her choice of music playing in the background or by encouraging all patients to enter monthly patient contests to win a prize. Sarahs approach to patient treatment comes from the heart. She has become a crucial component in helping to transform our clinical floor into a fun, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone.

Sarah is from Rhode Island, and when she is not creating smiles, she is a busy mom, raising her twoyoung children, Kailyn and Kyle with her husband. As a family, they enjoy traveling, boating, and relaxing with extended family and friends.

We are sensitive to the fact that our patients and parents have busy schedules and their time is valuable! With this in mind, we brought Joanne on board early in 2018 and she has proved to be an essential part of our team. She is a highly skilled orthodontic laboratory technician and has more than35 years of experience in the fabrication ofdental appliances. Her knowledge working with different dental lab materials, along with her skill operating dental equipment, enables faster fabrication with a more accurate fit of your removable clear retainers, sometimes even on the same day as your impression. Joanne takes pride in the fact that she plays an important role in helping patients maintain their beautiful smiles from the day the braces are removed and for years to come.

Joanne and her husband have two sons, but the apple of her eye is her adorable granddaughter, Audrina. She enjoys spending time with her family and especially looks forward to the summer when she spends those warm months at Lake Sunapee, NH with her husband, family, and good friends.

Angela joined our practice in 2014 and primarily supported our clinical staff by way of clearing instruments and seating patients. She eventually gained more responsibility and became our sterilization technician after becoming fully trained in the proper instrument sterilization protocol.

During this time, Angela became interest in pursing a career with our office where she could interact directly with patients and assistant Dr. Gangoy in delivering their care. Upon completing a radiology certification course at Tufts University in 2015, she received her certification in radiology techniques and safety. She began taking diagnostic records and completed a dental assisting program to become a licensed orthodontic assistant.

Rose lives in Wakefield with her husband and has three grown daughters. Recently, she welcomed her second grandson into her close-knit family. Rose is an excellent cook and always looks forward to traveling to warmer climates and relaxing on the beach with a good book!

I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their different life experiences. I have a soft spot in my heart for all young children and love speaking with them to hear what they have to say because they never fail to amaze me!
