Dr. Hulwi is a Board Certified Orthodontist. Board Certification is a voluntary credential that represents an orthodontists personal and public commitment to the standards of specialty practice and lifelong learning. Being a board certified orthodontist is a prestigious designation that is achieved by less than half of all practicing orthodontists. The American Board of Orthodontics Certification process requires the completion of peer-developed, externally validated written and clinical examinations. A Board Certified Orthodontist has reached this level of achievement by pursuing additional voluntary education and ongoing self- assessment. Board Certification is confirmation of an orthodontists personal commitment to providing lifelong quality patient care.
Dr. Hulwi is a Mankato native and graduated Valedictorian from Mankato Loyola. He continued his education at Minnesota State University, Mankato, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Hulwi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and then went on to achieve his certificate in Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as well as a Master's degree in Business Administration.
Dr. Hulwi stays current with the latest advancements in orthodontics by maintaining membership in several professional associations. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the Southern District Dental Society. Dr. Hulwi has also served as President of the South Central Dental Study Club.

Very professional and also fun with our kid who was so nervous about getting braces! She enjoyed her visits each time and everyone was always so positive. We will recommend to everyone to see Dr. Hulwi and his staff!!

So I thought my dentist recommended his office, but 1 year later, it turns out it was a different clinic.. However, I don't regret coming here! My teeth has made fast progress within only 1 year! I sometimes think to myself, wow. 1 year really made a difference. Dr. Hulwi really knows what he is doing! I also see that sometimes they have college student interns here that practice throughout the semesters... I don't prefer them. I believe I've had a few who have completed my readjustments and in my opinion, I think they struggled because my teeth were in really bad shape prior to how they are now. And my teeth hurt more when they do them as well... and takes longer. overall, best place ever. I even drive almost 2 hours every 6 weeks for my adjustments as I've moved out of town, but I don't mind because I know I'm receiving the best care here and everyone who works here knows what they are doing! I cannot wait to see my before and after pictures!!!

THRILLED with the service and care at Hulwi's office. We moved away from a different orthodontist who was good but not friendly, not very good with kids. Right from the start, Dr. Hulwi actually talked with my daughter, asked her questions, had her feel like she was really a part of the process. He was very complementary but also could make the point of needing to wear rubberbands and such. He even emphasized that the better she followed the directions the faster she could get her braces off, and that paid off! She get them off 4-5 months early. I also wanted to say that the office is really cool - very modern. Dr. Hulwi even has a photo booth thing with really fancy colored lights, a literal red carpet, just like the Emmy's - and the kids take a picture there when the braces come off. He has pictures on the wall of kids with full-human-sized actor cutouts - it all just adds to the fun for the kids. It's cool and keeps them focused on the end result!

They were very gentle and kind with my 11 year old Autistic child. They took away the fear of braces and the upbeat atmosphere kept him wanting to come back for adjustments. We are very happy with the results of the braces and will be bringing our other two children when they are ready.

We had an initial consult, and it was an amazing experience. The staff were friendly, the facility was immaculate, and the doctor was excellent. We were told all of our options - including doing no orthodontic work! Dr. Hulwi truly wants what is best for each individual patient, and that was obvious today.

Dr. Hulwi and his staff are amazing! Having braces as an adult was something I was apprehensive about, but after seeing the results, I am MORE than happy with my decision, and I'm so happy I chose Dr. Hulwi. He is very thorough and focused on perfect results. I've had my braces off a week and have already gotten so many compliments on them!

We had such a great experience! Both my boys were in braces at the same time, for two years! It was a long two years with the pandemic, but there was never a disruption in service and the office was always accommodating with our schedules. All of the staff were warm, kind and welcoming. They always took time to answer any questions we had.

Currently in treatment right now and so far after one year it's going amazing. Dr Hulwui and the staff is so kind. I had gone to a previous orthodontist in town and got a quota that was going to be even more and he wanted to extract my teeth but here they listened and accommodated to my needs. In the end I didn't have to extract my teeth and am doing great in treatment! Definitely come here if you need orthodontic work done!

All the staff are incredible! They were so accommodating to my schedule and found appointment times that worked for me! Everyone was super friendly and personable! Dr. Hulwi is very knowledgeable about everything. They definitely go above and beyond to make sure you get the results you were hoping for! We had an incredible experience from start to finish. We had gotten an opinion from another Ortho before finally coming to Dr. Hulwi and they wanted to remove teeth and were going to charge us significantly more for the work they quoted us for. I'm so glad we decided to get another opinion! The atmosphere is very inviting, clean, comfortable. The entire team is friendly, kind, and attentive. Most importantly, my daughter's teeth are beautifully aligned and she's able to eat and smile without feeling self conscious. (Without having to remove any teeth!) 1000% would recommend and will utilize their services again if/when the time comes for my other children.
