Our staff is a caring group of individuals dedicated to making you feel comfortable in our office while making every effort to ensure successful and effective treatment. They are all certified dental assistants and have over 50 years of combined orthodontic experience.
Dr. W.C. Coby Buchanan, Jr. graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University, with a B.S. in Microbiology. He received his D.M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry where he was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. He received his masters degree in orthodontics at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Some of his research efforts in residency were recently rewarded with publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Buchanan is an active member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, as well as the Texas Dental Association, and the Denton County Dental Society. Dr. Buchanan attends continuing education classes throughout the year to keep up to date with the continuous advances in the orthodontic field. Dr. Buchanan is committed to supporting the surrounding community. Throughout the year he takes the time to educate students by visiting local schools and is involved with local charities. Dr. Buchanan joined the practice in 2006 and resides in Denton with his wife and two sons. When not at the office, you can expect to find him spending time with his family, or pursuing his favorite hobby-bass fishing.
If you have an emergency, please call our office immediately. In most cases we will be able to see you that day. If the emergency falls over a weekend, or a day that we are out of the office, please call the office number (940-381-1988) and you will hear a phone number to call in the event of an emergency. The doctor or assistant on call will be more than happy to meet you and relieve you of any orthodontic associated discomfort. There are no additional fees for emergency visits.

These people are amazing! Terri went out of her way to clip my daughters wire after she got off work which helped so much but then when it shifted again a week later she was in crying pain and Dr. Buchanan met us at his office to fix it after 9pm! I am so thankful for them to have been available to help my little girl feel better.

If you are looking for orthodontic care in the Denton or Aubrey area I hope this will help you. We have 8 children and all have needed orthodontic care. Dr Buchanan and team have been caring for our family for over 20 years. It is hard to adequately explain how good of a practice this really is. Our 8th child had a more complex case than his older siblings. Dr Buchanan understood our anxiety with the treatment options. As the true professional he is, a few weeks ago he spent a considerable number of extra hours researching and modelling using the latest 3D simulation technology available. He then invited my wife an I for another even more extensive review of everything and totally eased our minds. We have known how good he is for a long time, but this was way beyond our expectations and was so appreciated. My son is now 18. Dr Buchanan has been examining him since he was 7 and patiently kept assessing him while he grew from a little boy to a 6' 5" young man. 10+ years from starting with him, he has expertly structured a great plan to correct the issue permanently. Never charged us a dime extra for all the extra hours and effort he invested. Thanks Dr Buchanan for all you've done for our family! Thanks to Terri and your great staff as well. They are like family.

I would like to say that if you are looking for incredible care and treatment for your precious child, then look no further. I am more impressed each time I take my son in for a visit. The visit starts out incredible from the service at the front desk to the dental visit, and finally the closure. The Dentist takes his time to explain the procedure and ensures that your child is taken care of and his top priority. I know that when my son is there that he is in great hands. I would recommend them to anyone who is concerned about their child being well cared for. You will not be disappointed. They are second to none. I look at my son's improvement and smile and nearly cry because of the incredible treatment they have given him.

I can not begin to tell you how happy I am with my daughters orthodontic outcome. Her case was not a simple one. She had a severe underbite which required surgery and orthodontics. Dr. Buchanan worked with our surgeon and the results were wonderful. She is absolutely beautiful. Thank you Dr. Buchanan.

I would like to say that if you are looking for incredible care and treatment for your precious child, then look no further. I am more impressed each time I take my son in for a visit. The visit starts out incredible from the service at the front desk to the dental visit, and finally the closure. Can't say enough wonderful things about Orthodontic Associates of North TX! Just completed the braces process for our youngest son and his teeth look amazing. After a successful process with our oldest, we wouldn't think of using any other Orthodontic practice. Dr. Buchanan is very personable and professional. He takes the time to make sure all your questions are answered and you will love the results! I also appreciate his entire crew. They are all very friendly and efficient.

We have loved our experience with Dr. Buchanan at the Aubrey location! Our daughter got her braces off after having them for 2.5 years. Her teeth were very crowded and Dr. Buchanan came up with a great treatment plan to take care of everything. His staff is great too! They have always been very friendly, knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile to make sure my daughter was comfortable and had everything she needed. A tech even met us on a Sunday afternoon when my daughter was having some discomfort and took care of her issue immediately. We can't say enough great things about Dr. Buchanan and his staff! We would recommend him to anyone looking for an orthodontist! In fact, we have recommended him to friends who are just as happy as we have always been! In short, great doctor, great staff, great experience!
