Born and raised in Columbia, SC, Dr. Ford S. Cooper returned to South Carolina in 1997 from Washington, DC and began his career in orthodontics. Dr. Cooper received his Bachelors Degree in Zoology from Howard University in 1987 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with honors from Howard in 1992. After graduating from dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency program at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Dr. Cooper enjoyed practicing family dentistry with his father and older brother, Drs. Noble P. Cooper and Noble P. Cooper Jr. respectively, in his hometown for a short period of time. The Cooper legacy, beginning with the late Dr. H.H. Cooper, has provided continuous dental service in South Carolina for more than 100 years.
He is currently working on more than 20 years in private practice and is one of a few orthodontists that actively holds a duel license in both South Carolina and North Carolina. He currently has two offices in the Charlotte metropolitan area: one in the Northlake area and the other in the University area, as well as offices in Rock Hill, SC and Spartanburg, SC

Was online and some how ran across this page. So I had to leave a review from my experience with DR Cooper. Because I went to him when I was in my young teens. Now I am 32 years old. But when I went there DR Cooper and his staff was awesome to me. They was always nice and he was always helpful. He did a really good job. Back then I liked to box a lot. When I did wear a mouth piece it wasn't the right one. So I had broke my braces quiet a few times. And everytime he was so nice about it. By time I got my braces off my teeth looked really good. But unfortunately I wore my retainers 1 time and never wore them again. So I wasted alot of money and time. But that was my fault. Because Dr cooper warned many times about it. But over all Cooper did his part. And he did a good job. So I give him 5 stars from my experience with his office.

I was a patient here at this orthodontist and had my braces on for 5 years. I had activities at school that would force me to miss a few appointments throughout the years but sometimes I didn't want to go to the appointment due to Cooper and some staff members. He was honestly very rude to me and always had some type of attitude when it came to seeing me but no problem with someone else there. The nurses (or whatever they are called lol) were nice and always took good care of me. I think it was honestly sad that I hated going to orthodontist mainly because of the owner/main doctor. You should welcome all your patients and be nice to them even if they miss appointments etc. I'm happy that I had my braces removed last year, only place that I knew of at the time that did monthly payments for braces. If I could tell my mom back then to go somewhere else, I would have.

The staff was very professional and efficient with helping my daughter on her visit. Dr. Cooper cares about his patients and it shows by the way that he explains every details as the procedure is being done.Pam is a very nice and wonderful lady too.

Friendly staff, extremely knowledgeable in their profession,(you know... that moment when you suddenly realize you know NOTHING about ur children's mouth) pleasant and prompt with anything from, appointments missed to appointments made.Overall, a pretty great place

Overall this is a great orthodontist and they have very friendly staff, but my daughter was told she was getting her braces off this month. She went in today and they spent 10 minutes with her max. She's very disappointed.

Dr. Cooper did an amazing job on my teeth and I am incredibly happy with how they turned out! I would highly recommend him to anyone. Dr. Cooper and his entire staff are always very welcoming and friendly! I feel more confident after having my braces done by Dr. Cooper!

Not friendly! My daughter is a transferring patient due to a move from out of state. The Orthodonist at this practice completely discredited the prior treatment plan in an unprofessional manner. When he reviewed my daughters xrays in front of us he made the sound "Eeeew" which I found to be very inappropriate and very insensitive to my daughter's feelings. His "bed side" manner was very poor. He may have been a great dentist at one time but he seems very washed up at this point. Also he wanted to pull 8 teeth from my daughters mouth and charge 2x the treatment amount not to include the oral surgeon fees. My daughter is only 15 years old why would I do such a thing if her teeth are healthy? We now went to another dentist, and he never mentioned such. Smh. I DO NOT recommend this office/orthodontist... go somewhere else !!!
