Dr. Boggan was raised in the Birmingham area and moved to Houston while in his teens. After high school, he returned to Birmingham and graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with the desire to pursue orthodontics.
His love for orthodontics came at an early age as a result of the help and guidance of his mother, who worked in the orthodontic field for many years. He loved the before and after photos of orthodontic patients and seeing how much orthodontic treatment can change someones life with both improved self confidence and self esteem. Dr. Boggan desires to help others in the same way. Ortho South was opened in 1999, with the help of his wife and his mother.
Brandon is married to Tricia and they have six beautiful children: Emma, Britton, Brayden, Ella, Brolin, & Eviana. Dr. Boggan and his family are members of Church of the Highlands (Riverchase). He also enjoys a wide range of sports and outdoor activities including hiking, ice climbing, kayaking, snowboarding and snow skiing. He loves basically anything with two wheels including mountain and road biking, as well as, dirt and street biking. Let's go biking y'all! :)
Dr. Syed was born in Birmingham and raised in Indian Springs, AL where she attended Oak Mountain High School. Her love for the game of soccer led her to Mississippi State University (Go Bulldogs!) where she played on the Womens Soccer Team while completing bachelors degrees in both Biology and Business. Not quite yet ready to give up the Maroon and White, she completed her MBA at Mississippi State before returning home to begin dental school.
At UAB School of Dentistry she discovered a passion for orthodontics when she saw the life changing impact and confidence that treatment was able to provide for people of all ages. Dr. Syed has always had an interest in orthodontics from her time in braces at a young age. In fact, Dr. Boggan was her orthodontist and inspired her to pursue this career! Following dental school, she moved to Charleston, SC to complete her Orthodontic Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her three-year residency provided extensive training in traditional braces, clear aligner therapy, and surgical orthodontics.
In her free time, Dr. Syed enjoys anything active and outdoors! You can find her on the hiking trails at Oak Mountain State Park, running paths around the city, or enjoying an outdoor sporting event. Most importantly, she loves spending time with family and friends. While she has lived in various cities, Dr. Syed has continued to call Birmingham home and is thrilled to return!
Kim has been with Ortho South for 20 years and has over 33 years of orthodontic experience! Shes married and has two sons. She loves the outdoors, gardening, interior design, Alabama football, the Helena Huskies and the Montevallo Fishing Team.
Allison has been with Ortho South for 10 years and has over 14 years of experience in an orthodontic office! She likes staying busy and being on the go. She enjoys going to plays, concerts, dancing or trying new restaurants with her friends and family.
Jann has been married for 30 years and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren! She loves spending time outdoors and dancing! She enjoys the people she works with and the relationships she has with dental offices!
Cecilia has 2 children, a cat and a dog! She enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking and all things outdoors. She loves working for Dr. Boggan and interpreting for our Spanish speaking patients.
Mandis been with Ortho South for over 7 years! She loves being outdoors and hiking with her two children. She also enjoys Mexican and Chinese food and eating ice cream. She owns a tortoise and two dogs.

Dr. Boggan is great, but if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't. That's just personal preference. The other ortho there said she won't shave my teeth even. What's the difference between crooked and uneven? Then, I was told I need a permanent retainer that will cost $325 while I am paying $110 a month. Great people, just not worth it all. The funny part is that I have a tooth on the bottom sticking up higher than the others that is pushed back when I bite down. I know that bc I can feel it. Do I really need a retainer or just shave it down? I look ridiculous.

My husband and I experience was absolutely phenomenal! This is one of the best office visits we have had in our lives. It was meant for us to come into the office on 01.19.22. The entire staff of the office is friendly and amazing. Each person we interacted with gave good vibes, very knowledgeable, professional, personable and detailed. Office is organized, very welcoming and clean. This office is a model office for others to follow. Dr. B and Dr. Z brought so much joy into our lives. They are more than about just teeth. They are about ministering to their patients and providing them knowledge not only about our teeth, but about life as well. They take time to get to know their patients and that means a lot. We are definitely glad we scheduled a consultation. At the end we were offered the opportunity to get braces the same day so we went for it. We were worried about the cost and they assured us there are affordable options and they are flexible and work with their patients. They helped make our decision easy, confident and comfortable.

I'm a close colleague of Dr. Boggan as I've known him for over 5 years. Every time I speak to him, I am always impressed with his creativity and orthodontic knowledge. He is also such a nice, kind man who is liked by all his patients. He truly sets the bar for running a successful orthodontic practice and this is why he has the reputation he has. Look no further for you or your child's orthodontic treatment whether it's for braces or Invisalign!!

If you're looking to get Braces or Invisiligns, Ortho South is the place to go. Dr. Boggan and staff are exceptional. The atmosphere, and service are second to no one.
