Dr. Brent E Parrott is the founder and CEO of Paradise and Oroville Gentle Dentistry, where his focus is to positively impact lives by improving the world one smile at time. Dr. Parrott received his dental degree from Creighton University, and continues to pursue training in all aspects of dentistry. Two of his valued mentors are Gordon Christianson and Raymond Bertolotti.
In his youth, Dr. Parrott enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, racquetball, swimming, and the sousaphone. He served a 2 year mission to Spain and uses his fluency in Spanish to serve the Spanish speaking community.
Dr. Parrott is the founder of Assist to Succeed, Butte County, and has donated food and supplies to local homeless shelters. He is an Eagle Scout and continues to serve in his church and community. He and his wife Alexis are the parents of 8 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 grand-puppies.
He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia and continued his education by participating in several courses, including cosmetic dentistry, root canal therapy and all aspects of general dentistry.
Already an experienced dentist, Dr. Keith Stutznegger decided to merge his dental practice with Oroville Gentle Dentistry back in 2013 because of the quality of care we provide to our patients. He has a DDS degree from UCLA and has practiced dentistry in Oroville since 1978.
Our newest dentist, Dr. Trapani holds a bachelors in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Sonoma State University where he graduated with honors. He then proceeded to LECOM School of Dental Medicine where he was the President of Clinical Affairs, obtaining his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD).
Dr. Trapanis passion has always been to help people. This lead him to pursue surgery despite the nature and intensity of the work. Given his prior experiences with excellent dental professionals who helped him through both braces and jaw surgery, Dr. Trapani looked to dentistry as a way to be that experience for others.

This place is the best dental experience I've ever had. The staff was very friendly. I recommend Dr Sumner. He is the best dentist I've ever had. You can tell he takes pride in his work and he cares about his patients.

I love Oroville Gental Dental. Dr. Sumner is the best. They give painless shots and my new tooth looks great...and it's in the front! It looks totally natural. They're awesome.

Honestly Dr. Sumner and staff are haven sent. I was in a ATV accident which caused damage to my front tooth. I schedule an appointment with my dentist was not able to help me until possibly three weeks out. I walked into the office at Oroville Gentle Dentistry on a Tuesday they schedule me for that Friday. On my new patient appointment they took x-rays and fixed my chipped tooth. Dr. Sumner talked and joked with me the whole time which helped ease up the nerves. They gain a new patient. I recommend this office. I'm so happy with the care.

I love the care I receive from Dr Sumner and his techs. But today I had an issue with Care credit. Stacey was so kind and gave me me excellent advice on how to solve the issue. She was patient while I waited for my chance to chat with a rep. I appreciated her willingness to work with me to solve the issue. Plus, she made me laugh! Thanks, Stacey!

I had 3 teeth extracted from these guys and I took two Tylenol after the procedure. They absolutely did an awesome job, no pain what so ever, I would recommend anyone to try these guy's. Very clean and professional

If I could give zero stars right now I would. My husband and I were patients at Oroville Gentle Dentistry for eight years and initially loved them but things have quickly and drastically deteriorated in the last couple years. Do not let the name or their shiny exterior fool you, they do not prioritize their patients care and will nickel and dime you to death. Last month my husband had an appointment for two fillings. Apparently they only blocked 30 minutes for this. When the first filling took longer than anticipated the doctor stopped work, prioritizing his schedule over patient care. Yet despite doing half the work the appointment cost more than the initial estimate. When I complained the receptionist tried repeatedly to make me feel like a bad person for feeling the doctor should have finished the work instead of keeping his precious schedule. Now today my husband went to a new dentist only to discover that the Oroville Gentle Dentistry left decay behind on that filling last month. It will have to be redone along with several other treatments that were improperly done recently, including a crown that they insisted was perfect even when my husband complained that it didn't feel right. The treatment plan to CORRECT their mistakes and oversights could take upwards of a year and will unfortunately come out of pocket since Oroville Gentle Dentistry took up so much of our dental allowance for the year. Oroville Gentle Dentistry also tried to sell me (and it was absolutely a sales pitch) on an unnecessary cosmetic procedure in 2020, boasting that they could get insurance to cover it by telling them it was medically necessary. They might have the fanciest office but you can absolutely find better dental care in town.

Everyone here was amazing! The ladies at the front desk were warm and welcoming and got me checked in really quickly. There was almost no wait for my appointment and the Dr and assistance were gentle and kind! So glad I chose Gentle Dentistry!!

Over the last six years I've had Oroville Gentle Dentistry do two deep cleanings, four cavity fillings, and two tooth extractions. All of them were great. The staff was great. The technicians were skilled and personable.The dentist's were very good.. giving the numbing shots never hurt.. the fillings and extractions were virtually pain free and the healing from the extractions was rapid.. I like them so much, that even when I was living 80 miles away I kept using them.. I highly recommend these guys

Everyone at this office was so nice. And as their name implies, they are gentle. I had a tooth pulled and was very nervous, but Dr Trapani was very gentle and considerate. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

At first I was treated nicely by this business. I was made to feel welcome. The first couple visits with two different younger dentists were not traumatic . Then on about the third visit I was 5 minutes late. I was given the old man dentist. He was absolutely horrible. He asked me if I could remove my cap and I was having a bad hairday. So I said no. He and his assistant mocked and ridiculed me the whole visit. Then even though my sister had cleared it ahead of time that I would be given pain medication because of a very low pain threshold for mouth pain he refused to prescibe me any. He told me to pick up some over the counter stuff. I sat in the parking lit crying , while my sister pleaded for pain medication. He still refused. I almost passed out on the way home in the cab. I wanted to scream but there were other passengers. Never will I trust dentists after this experience. It scarred me for life.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I've have horrible anxiety and just the thought of going to the dentist makes me panic but this place has made me feel so comfortable and Dr. Sumnar is the absolute best I won't go to anyone else HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
