Our highly trained oral surgeons, Dr. Craig A. Yamamoto, Dr. Blake K. Kitamura, Dr. Eva P. Kiezik, and Dr. Thomas A. Yamamoto specialize in dental implant procedures to replace missing teeth securely and safely. If you need wisdom teeth removals, jaw surgery, or other oral and facial surgery services, our surgeons are more than qualified to provide treatment. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons receive the highest anesthesia training of any dental professional, and they receive years of surgical training before being able to provide care to patients.

Though Dr. Yamamoto was born in Urbana, IL, he was raised in Honolulu, HI, after his family returned to their roots. Originally, Dr. Yamamoto wanted to be a social worker so that he could help people. After a couple of years gaining social service experience, he decided he wanted a change, so he chose to return to Illinois and attend dental school. He was inspired by his uncle, who was a dentist, and felt that hed enjoy the profession and the opportunity to work with his hands.
After beginning his education and volunteering to gain experience, Dr. Yamamoto discovered his passion for surgery. His wife encouraged him to pursue his dream, and so Dr. Yamamoto began his journey to become an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Yamamoto is extremely interested in orthognathic and trauma therapy but ultimately found his niche in implants. The most rewarding part of his job is his ability to restore someones health with implant therapy. He enjoys the chance at completely changing someones life with treatment.
Dr. Yamamoto completed his undergraduate education at the University of Hawaii, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. After realizing later on that he wanted to pursue dentistry, he was encouraged to apply to dental school. He chose to return to Illinois to attend Northwestern University. In 1988, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) National Dental Honor Societyand received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
After dental school, Dr. Yamamoto participated in a one-year general practice residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. During this residency, he discovered his love for surgery and chose to continue his training by completing a four-year oral and maxillofacial residency at the University of California in San Francisco. During this residency, Dr. Yamamoto completed specialized training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He gained hands-on experience in the treatment of a wide range of oral and facial afflictions, and he also trained alongside licensed anesthesiologists, making him the highest qualified dental professional to safely administer all forms of sedation.
Outside of work, Dr. Yamamoto enjoys a variety of hobbies and activities. He enjoys teaching dental residents at the Lutheran Medical Center's AEGD program at Kokua Kalihi Valley Health Center. He enjoys spending time with his family, andhe also enjoys traveling with his wife now that his children are grown up and out of the house. In addition to traveling, Dr. Yamamoto enjoys music and the arts, and when he gets the opportunity to visit colder climates, he also enjoys snowboarding.

Dr. Eva P. Kiezik is the best for implants ... Had 1 done at another place years ago and when I wanted to do 2 more I went closer to home in Kaneohe and glad I did. I saw Dr. EVA and was amazed with how awesome her and her staff are. I plan on doing one more in back right of my mouth and will only go to her from now on. THANK YOU !

I have an emergency tooth extraction been suffering unbearable pain for 2 days.i was referred by Dr Walden(endodontist)right away i got the appointment the next day.the staff in kaneohe are very warm and friendly,more so my oral surgeon Dr Michael Hironaka was very nice,gave me all the information I needed to know.my left face is swollen badly coz of 2 consecutive days visit from my regular doctor and my endodontist.he was extra gentle from numbing til the end of my procedure.i was scheduled for a follow up check up a week from now but he gave me a call today checking up on how I am.when you've suffered so much pain and continously still having issues with swelling,a call from your Doctor is very comforting.you could see how he cares for his patient.for me,he is a doctor who goes above and beyond his duty.giving your pt some comfort by giving the a call is very important as well for patients fast recovery as tou get peace of mind by merely hearing their doctors voice. Am very fortunate to have him as my surgeon.heaven sent.

I had a rush to get my wisdom teeth removed because I've been putting it off for a while. The consultation was brief but informative, and I got a surgery scheduled soon after. During the surgery, Dr. Mark Hirakawa was calm and collected. He is aware of the pinching I would feel and talked me through it through the surgery, so I would keep calm. It was a very relaxed experience. Only the pinching was painful, but with warning, it's nothing to be afraid of. I didn't even notice I had my bottom wisdom teeth removed, but it wasn't because I was heavily sedated. It was just quick and efficient. I was able to walk around just fine right after the surgery happened. Recovery was drastic but quick over the next few days. During post-op, I had some concerns about cleaning and they allowed me come in to ask questions the day of, which I thought was so nice.

I was so nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed since i've never had any sort of procedure done before. But Dr. Eva and her staff were so nice and helpful I felt way more at ease. Dr also worked so fast the whole process was over in about 30 minutes. I'm so glad i went through this with oral surgery hawaii!

I first went in to see Dr Yamamoto on Tuesday for a procedure. Unfortunately due to the location triggering my anxiety associated with the location I had to change my appointment to the Windward mall location. Excellent patent care. Dr Yamamoto Has answered all my questions and calls anytime I have a concern about the procedure. He's been real patient with me and listens to my concerns and does his best to help sooth my anxiety about the procedure and my aftercare

My experience started not so good and it was my fault. I was late and didn't fill out the paperwork. Malu was so kind reassuring me that it was ok. Then I had a slight issue with my payment but it worked out. I was still assured they would wait and if it didn't work out I could reschedule. It worked out and Logan was extremely helpful and kept me calm every step of the way. She was so professional and we chatted about our kids. It was much appreciated since I don't like to go to the dentist. Dr. Keizik promised me she (and they!) would take care of me and they did above and beyond!! She explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions. Without a doubt this was a great experience! I highly recommend Oral Surgery Hawaii!! Mahalo!!

WOW! Such a nice, professional and patient office staff! I saw Dr. Thomas Yamamoto who squeezed me in for a true dental emergency. The staff was kind and thoughtful, and Dr. Yamamoto took the time to listen, discuss his concerns, and take the time every dental and medical professional should give, even without knowing my medical background! Best Experience!!! I would give 100 stars or more for this place! I didn't know what to expect getting a extraction.... as soon as I was greeted at the door, my experience was amazing from start to finish! Everyone was so kind, friendly and super efficient! The office was beautiful & they took extra covid precautions. Which made me feel good I couldn't believe how quick the extraction was! Painless and literally a few minutes! I'm truly amazed at Dr Kiezik skills. She was super cool & Yoda of oral surgery!!! Trust me.....you will be in good hands.

I was really nervous before my wisdom tooth removal, but I got to ask the staff a lot of questions before the surgery, and felt completely informed and much more comfortable. I had no pain at all, and it all went by quickly. I am so thankful to have been referred here!
