Dr. Phillip R. Newton is a Cum Laude graduate of Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science Biomedical Engineering Degree. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Baylor College of Dentistry and completed his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Before joining our practice, Dr. Newton completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Residency at Texas A & M Health Science Center as well as Baylor College of Dentistry. During his residency, he gave back to the community by participating as a co-founder and dental care provider at Lubbock Impact Free Dental Clinic. There, Dr. Newton provided free dental care in the form of dental exams, extractions, and referrals for additional dental needs. Dr. Newton is currently serving his local community through the Baylor University Medical Center Cancer Screening, focusing on head and neck cancer screening services.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Newton and his wife Sarah welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl, in June 2016. Although Dr. Newton has a full schedule, he manages to maintain an active lifestyle. His interests include kayaking, fishing, hunting and backpacking.
A native Texan, Dr. Michael Ray grew up in The Colony, just north of Dallas. He always wanted to pursue a career in the medical field and has found that oral surgery is an ideal way for him to help people.
He loves getting to know his patients so he can truly understand what they need and what will help them feel comfortable during treatment. He finds that helping people improve their smiles and oral health is the most rewarding part of his job, and he loves having such an impact on patients lives.
Dr. Ray received his undergraduate degree in biology in 1995 from the University of Texas at Austin. He continued to Baylor College of Dentistry to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1999. Dr. Ray joined the Navy after graduating from dental school and completed a General Practice Residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Dr. Ray also attended Harvard University and earned his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in 2015.
Oral surgeons are required to complete at least four years in an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. Dr. Ray enrolled at Baylor University Medical Center and Baylor College of Dentistry and completed the program in 2006. During his residency, Dr. Ray trained in the safe administration of all levels of anesthesia and treatment of a broad scope of oral and facial conditions.
Dr. Ray served on active duty in the United States Navy from 19992010 and has continued his service since then in the Navy Reserves. His travels in the Navy exposed him to many human conditions including serving on the USNS Comfort after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010 and in Kandahar, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2008, Dr. Ray earned his certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In doing so, he achieved exemplary status among oral surgeons and demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the oral and maxillofacial surgery specialty.
Outside of the practice, Dr. Ray enjoys playing golf, tennis, listening to live music, and traveling. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and five children. Dr. Ray is a Captain in the US Navy and serves as a reserve Naval Officer.
Dr. Dingwerth joined Oral Surgery Associates of North Texas in 2002. Dr. Dingwerth was born and raised in southern Illinois. He received his bachelors degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1991, where he played collegiate basketball. In 1995 Dr. Dingwerth earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University. During dental school, he was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon and Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Dr. Dingwerth earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas Tech in 1998. After which, he completed his internship in General Surgery and his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Currently, he is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M College of Dentistry (formerly Baylor College of Dentistry). He is also a staff physician at Baylor University Medical Center and Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He holds a license in both medicine and dentistry in Texas.
He is a very active in oral and maxillofacial surgery professional societies as a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southwest Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Texas Society of OMS and North Texas Society of OMS. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society. His surgical interests include dental implants, corrective jaw surgery, wisdom teeth, dental extractions, facial trauma, and oral pathology.
Basketball continues to be one of Dr. Dingwerths favorite past times while he also enjoys golf and coaching sports. He and his wife, Karla, have two children. They continue to be active members of their church and the community.
Dr. Finn joined Oral Surgery Associates of North Texas in 1997. With an interest in health care dating back to his early teenage years, he was chosen to attend the High School for Health Professions magnet school in Houston, Texas. He later received a B.S. degree in biology from Baylor University in 1986. He went on to earn his D.D.S. degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1991 and an M.D. degree from Texas Tech in 1995. He has additionally earned certificates for internship in both oral and maxillofacial surgery and general surgery as well as a certificate for residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery, all from Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
He is currently an attending physician at Forest Park Medical Center and previously a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is licensed in Texas in both dentistry and medicine. Dr. Finn is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Fellow in the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Finns surgical interests include dental implants, wisdom teeth, reconstructive jaw surgery and grafting. He is very active in his field as past president of the North Texas Society and the Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well the Oak Cliff Dental Study Club. He was also appointed to the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners by Governor Perry.
Dr. Finn and his wife Tiffany, who is also a dentist, are active members of the community and their church. They are proud parents of two daughters, Lily and Ava. His outside interests include most outdoor activities. He was once the national unicycle trick-riding champion and appeared in various shows, parades and TV commercials with his brother and sisters.

Procedure is not complete at this time. However, most of what remains is not significant enough to change my opinion. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing this type procedure. They provide a painless way to do procedures that are typically very painful. I would be willing to pay any additional cost if my insurance company would not cover it. They are that good. They pay great attention to the small details that result in an excellent outcome!

After searching for the right Oral Surgery I found this office. Staff and Dr. answered all my questions about removing wisdom teeth and other possible treatment too excellent service and very professional people that work there I definitely going to have my wisdom tooth removed in this office.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out as recommendation from one of the surgeons to help with some jaw pain i was having. Scheduling was quick. The surgery was quick and the recovery was fairly easy. The one thing i was so dissatisfied with was the fact that they billed me for the anesthesia. They claimed that my insurance does not cover that, but they did not tell me that when they first provided the quote for the procedure. My insurance ended up denying the claim but requested an operative report from the surgeon's office in order to cover the charge. I notified the surgeon's office but their billing office refused to send the insurance company the additional documentation that was needed in order to process the payment. Thankfully, BCBS customer service was so much more helpful and allowed me to provide the documentation myself since the billing woman at Oral Surgery Associates felt it wasn't her job to resubmit the claim for payment. I am now a "volunteer" billing associate at Oral Surgery Associates since i'm basically doing their claim services.

My wife found OSANT Cedar Hill several months ago when she was having an issue with an infected tooth. She had a great experience and was very happy with this office so that when I needed 2 teeth extracted, I went to OSANT as well. I had a wisdom tooth extracted (it was in and rather healthy but had a cavity and I chose to extract rather than fill) and another tooth that had a broken root. At my consult, I was offered general anesthesia but my current financial situation only allowed me to have it done under local. I had a wisdom tooth pulled about 2 years ago at another practice, which was a painful experience, so I had a lot of anxiety with just having it done under local. However, the staff was very friendly and did what they could to try to ease my stress. I had NO PAIN during the procedure. The wisdom tooth came right out. The second one sounded like it may have broken so it took a little more work than expected, but again, I felt no pain. 8 hours post-surgery, I was still 90% numb, which I was thankful for. I took a pain pill before bed just to be safe, but haven't taken one since, only ibuprofen. 48 hours post-surgery, I have experienced no swelling, no bruising and no pain or discomfort at all. Everyone's experience will obviously differ based on circumstance. My wife and I both have been very happy with our experiences. If we need oral surgery in the future, OSANT Cedar Hill will be the first call we will make. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I recommend oral surgery associates of North Texas located in cedar hill. The entire staff is very professional and friendly. I had 2 wisdom teeth extracted same day and I wasn't in a lot of pain. My doctor was very caring, he explained everything before and after. Thanks everyone at this office

As a 75 yr old, I have had extensive dental work during my life. I was fearful the first time. A broken bridge with tooth stubs sticking out, I was scared. The office staff was patient and reassuring. In the chair, out like a light, awake and ready to go home-just like that! A few months later, broke off two more teeth. No problem! I knew who to call! And just like before-in and out and home to heal. Thankful my dentist recommended them!!!

Dr. Newton is great. Thought of everything for the procedure and explained what was going to be done. All of the medicine that was needed and the instructions before the surgery. He is the one the other Dentists send their patients to and for good reason. Highly recommend.

Outstanding staff of Medical Professionals. Their facility was spotlessly clean. Dr. Phillip Newton took the time to explain the procedure and answered all my questions. My biopsy was pretty much pain free. Dr. Newton called the afternoon of my procedure to check on me. Look forward to the test results and follow up appointment. I would highly recommend this Practice and Dr. Newton for any of your Oral Surgery needs.
