Dr. James Omlie received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of St. Thomas in 2009. He went on to graduate with Honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Omlie began his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in 2013. During this time, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017, completed 1 year of general surgery, and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency in 2019.
Dr. Omlie was involved in clinical and scientific research during his residency with interests in resorbable fracture/orthognathic plating systems and evidence-based management of medically complex patients. He authored two chapters in Perioperative Management of the Maxillofacial Patient and presented at the annual AAOMS meeting. Dr. Omlie enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with particular areas of interest in orthognathic reconstructive surgery, dental implant reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pathology, and anesthesia.
James is the son of our Dr. Mark Omlie. He grew up in Eden Prairie and continued his undergraduate and dental training in Minnesota. In his free time Dr. Omlie enjoys being with his family, waterskiing, downhill skiing, studying history, and cheering for the Timberwolves, Vikings, Twins, Gophers and Wild.

I got four wisdom teeth taken out here and had a great experience with the staff. They were super friendly and really made me feel comfortable. They made time for me and didn't make me feel like a burden or just another patient. I don't usually post reviews but this was above and beyond service so I wanted to share my story.

I had to get my wisdom teeth out with short notice and they actually got me in within 2 days of my referral. Dr. Omlie was very calming, compassionate, and great overall. He personally called me later in the afternoon to make sure I was recovering well and didn't have any questions. 10/10 would get more teeth pulled by him. I normally have problems with novocain not working and I stayed numb just like they wanted me to. Wasn't even loopy from the sedation they gave me. Amazing experience.

This was seriously the best experience from the time I walked in to the time I left the recovery room. Dr. Ziegler and his team made me feel comfortable and eased my anxiety right away before removing my wisdom teeth. This was incredibly fast, smooth and a painless process. I actually cried tears of joy and gave hugs because I was so shocked at how well things went. Thank you all for giving me an amazing experience. I HIGHLY recommend.

The staff was incredible! My son had his wisdom teeth removed. The procedure was very quick and everything about the extraction and the care afterwards was explained thoroughly. The doctor even called later in the day to check that everything was still going well.

We were referred to go here for my daughter's tooth extraction. She is only 5 and she was nervous about it however, Dr. Pearson made a whole experience so much easier for her.
