Encouraged me to get polyp removed to prevent cancer and promised insurance would cover it, turns out it wasn't cancer, so paid thousands out of pocket and surgery wound never healed right. His solution? Gave me a soft bristle toothbrush for the wound. But, I agree with others that he and staff were very nice, even though I'm worse off and had unnecessary surgery.

Dr. James Omlie performed a biopsy on my tongue. This doc is a genius with pain management. I barely--if at all--felt the novocaine shots. He equipped me with pain killers should I need them, post-surgery. The bottle remains unopened. I was in no pain after the surgery. The wound healed quickly. Now I would not even know a biopsy was performed. Besides all this, Dr. Omlie has a delightful personality. At Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Consultants, you sense their genuine compassion for their patients. I can't recommend this clinic highly enough. BRAVO!

Dentist was competent and cordial but here are the negatives: 1. They schedule you 15 minutes early so you can sit around for at least 30 minutes because they assume their time is more valuable than yours. 2. They are so hyper - focused on money that it's, frankly, gross. 3. You can't go into the place without payment being brought up at least 4 times and the amount due for your next appointment at least 2 or 3 times. 4. It's great to have a full understanding of what is owed in advance BUT even after that's been established it's constant talk about money, money, money. Really distasteful. 5. Several of the front desk people are very rude - at least in Edina. 6. They don't follow their own procedures or honor their word. A place hyper-focused on money actually doesn't honor it's word about payment commitments made. Prior to even making an appointment, I was told they have 2 discount dental programs and you also receive a 5% discount for paying cash or by check. The first time I came in, I paid with a check and received a discount from the dental discount program as well as 5% for paying in cash. All good. The next time, I was walked out to pay (as if someone is going to run out, you have to be escorted to the payment desk), I heard the woman whispering. I asked her what she just said since I thought she was discussing a cash discount. She told me I won't get 5% off for paying in cash because "that's double dipping" since I have a dental discount plan." I pushed back since they have nothing to do with one another. She called someone and came back with the same statement. Rather than argue with someone who has no real authority, I called when I got back to my office. My paperwork says, "all those without dental insurance receive a 5% discount. And, marked in bold letters on the discount card, it says, "THIS IS NOT INSURANCE" even though they tried to tell me this is "essentially my insurance." Uhm...no it's not. It's a dental discount plan that I paid money for and this practice agreed to accept. In turn, to participate, this practice agreed to discount the price of its procedures for card holders. So, I contacted a supervisor and communicated that I expect a discount. I have yet to hear back but will take further action if I don't receive a 5% discount as I'm going by what they told me before I ever scheduled my procedure here as well as the paperwork provided to me. Given that this place is so hyper-focused on money to the point of being gross, it will need to honor its word about the costs associated with the procedure - especially since they decided to rescind what they had already committed to in the middle of the dental procedure. Period. Full Stop!

Dr. Andy Pearson is the absolutely very best surgeon any patient could wish for to perform oral surgery. I've had a recent very bad experience elsewhere and he pulled me out of my deep gloom about dental surgery. Great chair side manner, tops in technical skills and made my procedure very positive (almost fun). He and his Assistant, Gabby(Gabrielle), were a perfect duo in making me comfortable and confident. Kudo's to every staff member I met as well.

My appointment was at 11:45 pm, I didn't get called back to see the dentist until 12:15. Then I waited in the room for the dentist until 12:45. I wasn't able to get details around the estimated cost of what my procedure would cost. I was told I receive a call within a week. Now I'm playing the waiting game.

My procedure at OMSC was for a bite correction. Although I had been advised for many years it should be corrected, I was reluctant believing it would require weeks of recovery. The procedure went amazingly seamless with no pain and a quick recovery with very little disruption to work or life in general. Additionally, Dr. Kurtzman explained my bone situation in detail, what to anticipate in the future and treatment options when needed, which was super comforting. Their care is exceptional.

The kindness and compassion alone is a reason to go here. I was in a ton of pain and went from my dentist, who sent me straight to my endo who discovered a pretty bad infection, so they sent me here to get my tooth extracted. I already struggle with anxiety around dentists so I was very anxious and overwhelmed since it was all happening so fast. Everyone here was so kind and thorough. The nurses especially were so kind, they were so patient and understanding. I can't thank them enough.
