Dr. James Omlie received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of St. Thomas in 2009. He went on to graduate with Honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Omlie began his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in 2013. During this time, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2017, completed 1 year of general surgery, and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency in 2019.
Dr. Omlie was involved in clinical and scientific research during his residency with interests in resorbable fracture/orthognathic plating systems and evidence-based management of medically complex patients. He authored two chapters in Perioperative Management of the Maxillofacial Patient and presented at the annual AAOMS meeting. Dr. Omlie enjoys all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery with particular areas of interest in orthognathic reconstructive surgery, dental implant reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, maxillofacial trauma, pathology, and anesthesia.
James is the son of our Dr. Mark Omlie. He grew up in Eden Prairie and continued his undergraduate and dental training in Minnesota. In his free time Dr. Omlie enjoys being with his family, waterskiing, downhill skiing, studying history, and cheering for the Timberwolves, Vikings, Twins, Gophers and Wild.

I went in for a consultation and mentioned to Dr Omlie I wished I could just get the teeth pulled today and he was able to. He is amazing! I felt only a little pain. And any time I mentioned any discomfort he changed what he was doing. He answered all of my questions. He let me know what he was doing and why. No one likes getting teeth pulled but I would absolutely recommend Dr Omlie and the staff here.

Dr Spanels is amazing! I had couple questions before the procedure for my son and Dr Spanels explained very well. He and his staffs were very nice.

Wonderful care. Took the time to make sure I was comfortable. Explaining exactly what the procedure would entail. Everyone I chatted with was kind and friendly. Definitely recommend OMS!

Nobody likes going to have teeth removed. But my experiences going here twice have both been exceptional. My anxiety goes away as they explain everything that is going to happen, no surprises. They make sure you are not going to feel pain, they really care. From the moment you walk in until you leave you are treated kindly by all of their employees. I highly recommend going here. Shout out to the team, you are all so kind and compassionate. Much appreciated!!

Still waiting for the novacaine to wear off, but my tooth extraction by Dr. Stich was a piece of cake for me. Both he and his assistant have a great chair side manner while expertly getting through the procedure.

Dr Hass is an amazing Oral Surgeon. He did an implant for me today and it didn't take long, and I had zero pain during the procedure. He's patient and answers all questions. His staff and nurses are all very efficient and thoughtful. I highly recommend him.

Very efficient and thorough process from checking in all the way to checking out with the next appointment and paperwork ready to go. Dr. Neuner takes the time to explain every detail of the implant process using state-of-the-art equipment. Everyone is professional in a clean and safe environment.

Nice people! Effective people! That says it all. Awesome individuals from the reception staff, to the prep staff, to the surgeon and the assistant. I was in awe and totally satisfied. I'm very happy I came to see Dr Omlie. Everyone there is friendly and efficient. I felt confident that I was getting excellent care.
