Dr. Emil John Armand Cappetta was born and raised in Summit, NJ, and later completed his BA degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. From there, Dr. Cappetta moved to New York City to attend Columbia University, where he received his degree with a concentration in oral & maxillofacial surgery. Afterwards, he received renowned specialty training in oral & maxillofacial surgery at Bellevue Hospital, Manhattan VA Hospital, and New York Universitys Medical and Dental centers. There he became chief resident of the OMFS service, and received extensive training in maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, head & neck cancer, orthognathic and facial cosmetic surgery, dentoalveolar & implant surgery, as well as performing general & sedation anesthesia to both adult and pediatric groups.
Dr. Cappetta is a board certified diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is also certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support from the American College of Cardiology, as well as Advanced Trauma Life Support from the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, he is involved in the dental and OMFS communities through memberships with local and national groups including the American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Cappetta is affiliated with having been granted operating room and treatment privileges at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Hospital, where he serves as an attending surgeon and provides educational lectures and hands-on instruction to his residents.
Sandra is our newest surgical assistant at OMA. She joined us in 2016 and has been a warm and friendly addition to the practice. Sandra is excellent at making sure you are comfortable and calm when you are working with her. She has extensive training and experience in dental assistance and is also BLS certified.

Update- the entire staff (kinda except the woman I dealt with today in the front, she wasn't friendly) are all super nice and exceptional. Make sure you know the entire process and ALL costs associated. Waited four months to go back after an extraction for a consultation for my implant. The very first thing the woman in front said was "your out of pocket cost is $$$" I explained that wasn't paying for that scan before talking to the dr to hear my options and they wouldn't even let me in the back without paying. WITH a waiting room with other patients in it. The whole office doesn't need to know my business. Complete waste of time and time off work going there to walk right out 5 minutes later.

I put off getting my wisdom teeth removed for years because I was so nervous. So glad I was referred to Dr. Cappetta and team. Recently had all 4 removed and the process was quick and painless. The entire staff was so kind and gentle and put me at ease during and after the procedure. 11 days later and I'm already back to myself. The other reviews really do speak for themselves as I can't recommend them enough. Thank you for everything OMA!

This was my second time at the office and each time my experience was great! The entire support staff and Dr Cappetta went out of their way to explain everything that would happen before, during and after the procedure. This helped me be less nervous and anxious about my post procedure care.

Dr. Ranucci and his team has been amazing! From my initial visit to post op, they've embraced me with nothing but smiles and positivity. What would have been an anxiety inducing experience, Dr. Ranucci and his staff made me feel beyond comfortable and always heard. My experience working with his office has been nothing less than outstanding! Beyond professional and personable. I would highly recommend his office and services!

I've been going to OMA for quite sometime, for extractions and dental implants. Dr. Ranucci and his staff, Lisa, Tammy and the rest are very courteous and professional. They are truly concerned about your pain and well-being. They make you feel comfortable. Follow up phone calls to make sure your not having any problems. They are amazing. I would highly recommend OMA and Doctor Ranucci and staff to everybody.

We were referred for an emergency and the care we received from the entire team was emblematic of what dental care should be at its best. Without going into any details, it was a very serious and scary situation made better and calmer by Dr. Ranucci. Not historically a fan of dentistry, we would go back in a heartbeat.

Everyone was very kind. Dr. Ranucci is the best oral surgeon I have ever known. He is very caring and he does a thorough and a wonderful job, doing all he can to make the job complete and the best he can for me. He does all he can to make sure you are doing well during the procedures and his staff is very caring and personable too. They remember your name and remember information about who I am and anything we had talked about in the past. I found everyone there professional but not stuffy, willing to smile and laugh and help me to relax as we get ready for any of the procedures that Dr. Ranucci would be performing. Some of the procedures were hard to go through but I can tell you, throughout the whole time, I knew the doctor and those who were assisting would do anything to help me be comfortable and to have less pain. I trust Dr. Ranucci completely as well as his staff. I am so thankful that they are a part of my team of giving me the teeth and the smile that we have been working towards.
