After three generations, Dr. Robert L. Heller is now our lead dentist alongside Dr. Renee L. DiDonato. They can expertly treat any dental need from general check-ups to full mouth reconstructive surgeries. In the 35 years since our establishment, our dentists have placed more than 35,000 dental implants.
Drs. Heller and DiDonato have decades of collective experience. They are members of the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, PARAGON, International College of Dentists, and the American College of Prosthodontists. Dr. Robert L. Heller is also the current co-director of the Midwest Implant Institute.

Were a specialty practice, and we give specialty care, according to Dr. Rob, who attributes this care to our diagnostic abilities, experience, technology and education. Were able to diagnose more readily the needs of the patient. Through the latest technology and our diagnostic skills, we are able to form a treatment plan that is comfortable for the patient. This leads to long-lasting care, he says. Dr. Rob both surgically places dental implants as well as restores the implants. He works closely with many referring dentists by placing the implants, which are restored by the referring dentist.
Dr. Robert Heller completed his undergraduate education at Ohio Wesleyan where he received a BA in Biology. He earned his DDS in 1988 from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Dr. Heller then continued with his prosthodontic residency at The Medical College of Virginia (1990) and completed his hospital-based implant residency/graduate training at Loma Linda University (1997).
He has served as President of the Ohio Section of the American College of Prosthodontists and Chairman for the Ohio Dental Associations Sub council on Young Dentists. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, staff member at Grady Memorial Hospital, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Dental Society. Dr. Heller is an active member in The American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Columbus Dental Society & American College of Prosthodontists. He has published multiple articles and continually presents lectures on a national scale.
Dr. Heller maintains a private practice oriented to implant surgery and related prosthetics for nearly 25 years. He currently practices in Lewis Center, Ohio. He believes that the patient is the purpose of his restorative practice. Up-front discussion with patients about their treatment plan and fees standardize Dr. Robs practice and further his goal to provide the highest possible quality of dental care.
Dr. Heller currently serves as Director of the Midwest Implant Institute (MII). The Midwest Implant Institute helped seven Dental Schools develop their dental implant program and has taught thousands of doctors to become dental implant surgeons. Dr. Heller has trained these doctors in the hands-on externship of the Midwest Implant Institute. Since 1997, he has taught and surgically performed numerous courses ranging from implant placement to advanced bone grafting, lateral nerve repositioning, sinus elevation and numerous other surgical procedures. He continues to lecture on a national scale for multiple organizations, including the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID).
An avid sportsman, Dr. Heller enjoys fishing, playing golf and basketball, although he was a collegiate football player. He often gets beat by Dr. Dustin Timmerman on the golf course. He is happily married to his wife, Amy, and enjoys every moment with their four daughters.

Dr. Renee DiDonato practiced dentistry in Boston, Massachusetts as well as the South Shore, near Cape Cod, for several years prior to returning to her hometown of Columbus, Ohio to join our practice. She attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where she served as the first female President of the Ohio State University Chapter of the American Student Dental Association. In her role as President, she organized community outreach programs, including Give Kids a Smile.
Following her graduation, she attended The University of Floridas Advanced Education in General Dentistry program, which is one of the most well-respected dental residencies in the nation. During the program, she earned a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a Certification in IV/Oral Sedation.
She is an alumni of the renowned Dawson Academy of Complete Dentistry and the Pankey Institute. During her residency, she completed over 400 hours of continuing education in implant dentistry, periodontal surgery, TMD therapy, oral surgery, endodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. DiDonato ensures she is knowledgeable on the latest dental technology and materials, and she continues to attend courses taught by the most prestigious educators in dentistry. Throughout her career, she has consistently strived to provide excellent patient care while also enabling her patients to feel comfortable and relaxed during their dental visits.
She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentists. In addition to practicing dentistry, she enjoys traveling, running, biking, and trivia. Most of her time is spent with her husband, Eric, and their daughter Victoria (or as they like to call her Rory). She is a graduate of Upper Arlington High School and the College of Holy Cross, where she played Division I Field Hockey.
Externship in Hospital Dentistry University of Colorado Denver School of Dental Medicine, Kishore Shetty DDS, MS, MRCS Integrated into a General Practice Resident curriculum and to gain experience with medically compromised patients as well as more familiarity with advanced dental procedures.
Fall 2008 Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach Upper Arlington High School Coached, served as a mentor, and helped in college recruitment for girls on the varsity team. Participated in team activities on and off the field such as the Race for the Cure. Worked with captains parents to plan team events and helped address parent concerns.
Spring 2008 Assistant Varsity Lacrosse Coach Upper Arlington High School Youngest head and assistant coach duo to win an Ohio Division I State Championship Title. Coached, motivated, and created a positive competitive atmosphere for 25 high school girls at daily practices and games.
Womens Varsity Field Hockey Team College of the Holy Cross Spent 20-25 hours per week as part of a competitive NCAA Division I program. Involvement required a year round commitment to practices, games, strength training, and team meetings.
