Dr. Richard Martinwas born in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to New York at a young age. After completion of high school, he went on to study at the University of Maryland, College Park in Biological Sciences. He then entered New York University Dental School, where he was elected Omicron Kappa Epsilon and graduated with Full Honors in Oral Surgery. Dr. Martin completed his residency at Harlem Hospital, Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was appointed chief resident. He then completed a one-year Fellowship at the Oral Surgical Institute in Nashville, Tennessee where he remained in practice until December 2001. Dr. Martin started his solo practice in Lewisville, Texas in March 2002.
Dr. Martin has a special interest in surgical instrument design and splint design. During his residency he started designing instruments and for the past 12 years has designed over 20 instruments. Many are used by surgeons around the world. He still continues to work with the same instrument company and has had the #1-selling surgical instrument in the world, the Grasping-Forcep, for the last 4 years. He has now turned his focus towards designing instruments for bone grafting and dental implants.

I met with Dr. Martin and his team for the first time today trying to work out my somewhat complicated wisdom teeth removal. I have been to two other locations to try and make a game plan and NOBODY has made me feel as comfortable and welcome as Dr. Martin and his wonderful team! They explain everything clearly and fully in a way anybody could understand. They also took the time to address any concerns I had and answer any and all of my questions. The office looks nice, the people that work there are all wonderful, and it was just a nice place to be when I was coming in with anxiety from previous oral surgeon visits that didn't go how I wanted them to. This is the place to go for any oral surgery needs!

Highly recommend. My daughter (19yrs) has anxiety and is very uncomfortable in new places. The front office was very friendly and put her at ease right away. In addition, when I was able to go join her she told me it wasn't necessary. She got it. She said that Dr Martin was wonderful. She wished we could find a dentist as great as he and his staff. Don't hesitate to see him.

I am family member number 5 to be taken care of and treated by Dr. Martin and his team( both brothers mom and dad and a few family friends) They are phenomenal, and I feel so safe and comfortable with them. Some of the sweetest people I have ever met work here! Seriously, oral issues and pain is not a joke and they make the journey a piece of cake! Not a single complaint

Dr. Martin and his staff were great! I brought my daughter in to get her wisdom teeth out over college break. She was very apprehensive and didn't want to get it done, but she knew she had to since they had been hurting her. At once the staff made her feel at home. Once she met Dr. Martin she was put at ease and the rest is history. In a matter of minutes she was done! When my younger daughter needs her wisdom teeth out I am calling Dr. Martin's office to set her up. I am glad as a mother I can send my children to his office knowing they are getting the best care possible!!
