Dr. Marrs returned to his studies in 2003 to begin his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to serving as a faculty dentist at the university, he also served as a student instructor and completed his residency training in June 2008. He also received a Masters Certificate in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery during his residency.
Dr. Marrs is an affiliated staff member at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and St. Joseph Medical Center. Dr. Marrs field of excellence is in specialized dental implant placement and bone grafting techniques, tooth extraction and third molar removal, facial skeletal reconstruction (orthognathic surgery) and treatment of facial trauma.
Dr. Collier is a native of Kansas and a 1979 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Dr. Collier served as an Associate Professor of oral surgery at the UMKC School of Dentistry from 1979-1980 and completed his oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency through UMKC and Truman Medical Center in 1984.
Dr. Collier has given numerous lectures and presentation to many of these local societies and regularly participates in continuing education symposiums. He is an active staff member at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Overland Park Regional Hospital, St. Joseph Medical Center and Heartland Spine & Specialty Center. Dr. Colliers field of expertise is in specialized dental implant placement and bone grafting technique, treatment of facial trauma and facial skeletal reconstruction (orthognathic surgery), tooth extraction and third molar removal.
Dr. Barber is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan. He was awarded the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) Dental Student Award and Membership into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (National Dental Honor Society) prior to graduation. He then completed a General Practice Residency from the University of Utah, in which he gained extensive training in treating the medically compromised General dental patient. He then went on to complete an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Barber has received extensive training in advanced oral surgical procedures (impacted wisdom teeth, dental extractions, dental implants, bone grafting), outpatient anesthesia (sedation), orthognathic surgery (corrective jaw surgery), facial trauma and maxillofacial pathology. Dr Barberis aboard-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Care Life Support. He is actively involved in the community and enjoys volunteering his time to serve others, including the Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) and Dental Lifeline Network. Dr. Barber also speaks fluent spanish.

Professional atmosphere & staff professional too. Clean, busy staff but it was a pleasure to meet Dr. Barber. He gave me his full attention despite busy schedule. He answered my questions about what to expect when he extracts 2 teeth at next appointment. He is working with Dr. Sparks (my periodontist) who I will see immediately after my appt to extract is complete! Dr Barbers is awesome & his staff phenomenal as they with staff at Dr. Sparks (periodontist) to ensure I would see him immediately after Barber. Seamlessly easy-it appeared from what I could tell-but staff is excellent: professional & efficient but kind & courteous too!! I was extremely anxious, it was obvious! And confused by a day where 2 dental specialists would see me. Dr Barber took the time to explain the ease of the procedure and how it would be a brief procedure and completed likely in 30-45 mins. He was reassuring, caring and answered all my questions with patience! His reputation is accurate!! Experienced professional, busy office-staff too but patient is priority and was put at ease afterwards. Recommend to anyone needing an oral surgeon! My procedure isn't until November but I am not nervous at all now!! His bustling office staff, patients there & full wait list proves his competency!!

Dr Collier could not have been any better ! No one had more anxiety than me . He explained everything and was so fast I hardly knew he had started and it was over. So if you're putting it off like I was reconsider... it was much simpler to just get it over with. I recommend Dr Collier 100 percent !
