Dr. Friedman is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral Implantology, The American Society of Osseointegration, and a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a member of The International Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Friedman did his undergraduate training at the University of Miami and attended the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry as well as the Graduate Basic Science School receiving both his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and Masters of Science Degree in Anatomy. He did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Training at the University of North Carolina and completed his Residency Training at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1978. Dr. Friedman is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Friedman is a member of the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida Dental Association and many other of their affiliated local dental societies.
Dr. Friedman lectures on numerous topics involving complex dental implant surgery. He has been given permission to operate in many South American countries by their Ministers of Health. He is the developer of both the Hex Cylinder and Twist Lock Cylinder dental implant and has served on the board of advisors of many dental implant manufacturing companies worldwide.He is presently acting Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hospital West as well as Westside Regional Medical Centers.

Dr. Payton is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Indiana University in 1981 and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1984, with distinction. He completed his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University Hospital in 1988.
Dr. Payton is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and many local affiliated Dental Societies.
Dr. Payton has many areas of special surgical interests. He has extensive training and experience in the area of oral cancer and reconstructive surgery as well as tumors of the head and neck. Another field of surgical interest is Temporomandibular Joint Surgery (TMJ). He is a true pioneer in the field of TMJ arthroscopic surgery. He is one of the first to routinely perform in office TMJ surgery. He has done multiple open TMJ procedures as well as TMJ total joint replacement, when necessary. Along with these special interests, Dr. Payton also extracts impacted teeth, places implants, regenerates bone loss in the jaw using the latest technology (PRP & PRGF), just to name a few. Dr. Payton is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Payton is not only known for his expert surgical skills, but his warm, kind, and approachable bedside manner. He truly is an expert at putting a nervous patient at ease. He is the perfect combination of skill and humanity.
Dr. Luis Cardenas is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He received his dental degree from Javeriana University School of Dentistry in Bogot, Colombia in 1983 and completed his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 1992. Additionally, Dr. Cardenas has completed two clinical and research fellowships in craniofacial and orthognathic surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry and Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He has trained and worked with several world-renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeons, giving him expertise in the area of major craniofacial reconstruction. Dr. Cardenas is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Cardenas is an associate professor at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Cardenas's special surgical interests are in the fields of orthognathic, temporomandibular joint, cleft lip, and palate surgery. His advanced training in craniofacial surgery enables him to offer specialized treatments to patients with complex facial deformities.

My daughter got a tooth extracted by Dr Theiss. It was a very smooth process. Great compassion and care service from everyone at the office, including Hillary. Minimum pain and discomfort after the procedure. We love the experience here.

Although I think Dr. Cardenas is an amazing doctor and has been nothing but kind when I am there and he did go over all the negative scenarios that could result from my wisdom teeth extraction prior to removing them, I am very disappointed how the office has handled my pain. I was told that I could have facial numbness, however in addition to the numbness, I am experiencing burning pain to the right side of my face, constant burning pain and its been 3 weeks since my wisdom teeth extraction. Whenever I run out of pain medication, it's a hassle to get any. First, I was told the doctor is on vacation, I had to go to the ER. Now, no one is even answering their after service line. I'm disappointed. I didn't ask to be in pain. The past 3 weeks have been a nightmare and I'm sick of being made feel as if my symptoms don't matter.

Dr. Cardenas Is The best dentist when it comes to surgery's and extraction hands down , the staff and his assistant are always in great positive spirits with good customer service. Insurance deductible cost are always affordable and reasonable than others . My First time visiting him was about a year ago for surgery for 4 wisdom tooth's the process was fast, easy, and painless.Due to great customer service I have return a second time for a tooth extraction and I must say I made a wise choose in returning the service I received is excellent and I would like to thank you guys keep up the good work It greatly appreciate.

I came in for three extractions and it took about thirty minutes in total. They were very quick, efficient, and friendly. My recovery was also smooth and quick. Definitely recommend!

I was referred by my daughter's orthodontist to have extractions done in preparation for braces. The electronic patient forms completed prior to coming in was a tremendous time-saver. The office is very clean, organized and the staff very professional and friendly. Great communication and high quality service. COVID protocol responsible and consistent.

I can honestly say this office has the kindest staff and cleanest space I've visited, dental offices and overwise. They treat you like a person instead of just a patient. Quick appointments and caring, smiling staff. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed at once. And I can already feel a HUGE difference in my oral health. :)

Recently got my wisdom teeth removed at the Pembroke Pines office with the best staff ever. They made me feel very comfortable and safe while following Covid regulations. I was very nervous during my procedure but one of their staff Philip made me feel at ease. Cannot praise this office enough!

Oral facial reconstruction has given me the absolute best experience of all time !! I rarely write any reviews, but since I was so scared and stressed to extract all 4 of my wisdom teeth, I thought it would be better if I share my experience with others so they are a bit less concerned about the whole procedure! Dr. Cardenas is an exceptional doctor that you don't see very often unfortunately! He really cares about his patients and their fears and feelings! Loraine was so sweet and she was so patient and understanding! I had a very pleasant experience even though my case was a bit complicated! Thank you!

So I was pretty terrified to get all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at age 34. But Phillip was so patient with me, answered all of my annoying/paranoid questions and helped ease my anxiety about the process. He made the whole experience less terrifying. I even shared silly photos of my big, dumb swollen face with him during my follow-up and we laughed about it. Dr. Luis Cardenas was also great and my surgery went very smoothly. Was the recovery process fun? Hard no. Did the kind, caring staff at this office make it easier? Absolutely. Word to the wise: read the recovery instructions they send you home with thoroughly and pack your fridge with LOTS of soft food PRIOR to your surgery. Force yourself to eat something substantial before you take the hard, pain drugs, especially if you're a small person! Thanks again to this awesome staff :)
