For patients who require major work, we will work with you to design a CareCredit payment plan. Our office accepts debit cards, cash, or any major credit card as forms of payments.
Dr. Friedman is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Oral Implantology, The American Society of Osseointegration, and a member of the American Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a member of The International Society of Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Friedman did his undergraduate training at the University of Miami and attended the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry as well as the Graduate Basic Science School receiving both his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree and Masters of Science Degree in Anatomy. He did his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Training at the University of North Carolina and completed his Residency Training at The University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1978. Dr. Friedman is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Friedman is a member of the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida Dental Association and many other of their affiliated local dental societies.
Dr. Friedman lectures on numerous topics involving complex dental implant surgery. He has been given permission to operate in many South American countries by their Ministers of Health. He is the developer of both the Hex Cylinder and Twist Lock Cylinder dental implant and has served on the board of advisors of many dental implant manufacturing companies worldwide.He is presently acting Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hospital West as well as Westside Regional Medical Centers.

Dr. Payton is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He received a B.A. degree in Chemistry from Indiana University in 1981 and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1984, with distinction. He completed his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Indiana University Hospital in 1988.
Dr. Payton is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, and many local affiliated Dental Societies.
Dr. Payton has many areas of special surgical interests. He has extensive training and experience in the area of oral cancer and reconstructive surgery as well as tumors of the head and neck. Another field of surgical interest is Temporomandibular Joint Surgery (TMJ). He is a true pioneer in the field of TMJ arthroscopic surgery. He is one of the first to routinely perform in office TMJ surgery. He has done multiple open TMJ procedures as well as TMJ total joint replacement, when necessary. Along with these special interests, Dr. Payton also extracts impacted teeth, places implants, regenerates bone loss in the jaw using the latest technology (PRP & PRGF), just to name a few. Dr. Payton is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Payton is not only known for his expert surgical skills, but his warm, kind, and approachable bedside manner. He truly is an expert at putting a nervous patient at ease. He is the perfect combination of skill and humanity.
Dr. Luis Cardenas is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and The American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He received his dental degree from Javeriana University School of Dentistry in Bogot, Colombia in 1983 and completed his specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 1992. Additionally, Dr. Cardenas has completed two clinical and research fellowships in craniofacial and orthognathic surgery at Baylor College of Dentistry and Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He has trained and worked with several world-renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeons, giving him expertise in the area of major craniofacial reconstruction. Dr. Cardenas is on staff at many of the local hospitals in the community.
Dr. Cardenas is an associate professor at the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Cardenas's special surgical interests are in the fields of orthognathic, temporomandibular joint, cleft lip, and palate surgery. His advanced training in craniofacial surgery enables him to offer specialized treatments to patients with complex facial deformities.

The doctor who did the procedure communicated well and explained everything thoroughly. The procedure went well. However, communication with the office wasn't good. They lacked follow up, took forever in requesting insurance approval (about 7 - 8 mos) because they never sent the first approval, was given misinformation that cost me money. I am still trying to get to the bottom of the situation. UPDATE: I just started to talk to the office manager or the finance manager. She has been extremely helpful.

I had 2 wisdom teeth surgically extracted by Dr. Payton. He is an excellent surgeon with a Midas touch! He skillfully extracted both teeth within a few minutes and no pain or even discomfort! I'm glad i followed his suggestion to extract both teeth at the same time! His clinical team is also great and helpful. I avoided having my wisdom teeth out for a long time, due to the fear of the pain, past horror stories, etc. What set Dr. Payton apart for me is that he truly took his time to walk me through the surgery (pros and cons), wasn't pushy about anything, and gave me multiple options to think over. While I nervous the day of the surgery, Dr. Payton got me to laugh, and it was over in about 30 minutes. The healing process went great, and my follow-up appointment with him took a quick two minutes. It is hard to find individuals you can trust in a big city like Miami, but Dr. Payton goes the extra mile and takes a lot of that stress away.

My experience at Oral Facial Reconstruction and Implant Center was exceptional. Everyone at the office was helpful and friendly. And my procedure, performed by Dr. Payton, was so much better than I could have expected. On the day of my procedure, I was taken in without delay. Once seated, the procedure was explained in detail by both the dental assistant and Dr. Payton, as well as post-op expectations. The procedure itself went by very quickly and I was amazed at how efficient the team was while having such amazing bedside manners. I was in and out of the office in short order and felt great about the entire experience. I had no complications, but just in case, Dr. Payton called me himself around 9:00 PM that night to check in on how I was feeling. I hope to never need their services again, but if I do, I will come back confident that I am going to a team of highly-skilled, friendly and knowledgeable professionals and would recommend them to anyone.

I was supposed to get my 4 wisdom teeth extracted by another doctor, who luckily extended his vacation and was no longer available for my surgery. I had to rush and find a new oral surgeon immediately, so I searched Google; by a miracle I found Dr. Kevin Payton. What a great professional he is! Not only did he not go for the money by wanting to pull all 4 teeth, but instead, he recommended only extracting "the problematic one." He was very kind and took his time during the consultation, explaining to me all the different outcomes and risks and advised the best procedure. Luckily they were able to do it right there on the spot under IV sedation, and I was back home in a couple of hours. I deeply appreciate all the fine treatment I received, as I was very nervous before the procedure. I'm now 7 days post op, and I feel great. I highly recommend Dr. Kevin Payton and his staff.
