Our iTero Element 2 Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital impression system that eliminates the need for messy putty in your mouth. With this technology, Dr. Hoang can digitally capture a detailed 3D model of your teeth and gums. Not only is this process far more comfortable than the old putty based impressions, but its faster and offers a more accurate clinical diagnosis.
During the impression process, you can breathe or swallow as you normally would. You can even pause during the process if you need to sneeze or just want to ask a question. The scanner gives us a 3D model of your mouth that can be used for planning your dental treatment to show you what your new smile might look like.
We are all about painless dentistry at Optimum Dental. But we also go beyond painless to keep you comfortable and relaxed. As proof, we have made our office into a friendly environment full of amenities for you and your family.

Dr. Bao Hoang is dedicated to your personalized, quality dental care. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from UNC Greensboro and graduated with an honors distinction. He then earned his DMD degree from Western University of Health Sciences. Upon graduation, he was awarded the HPSP Scholarship from the U.S. Army. While commissioned as a dental officer, he received numerous military decorations and awards for his outstanding contributions to his fellow soldiers and was honorably discharged after completing active duty terms at Fort Bliss, TX, in 2018. Dr. Hoang is continuing to serve in the Army Reserve Unit as a dentist. He is now happy to call Raleigh, NC his homeand would like to bring his gentle approach to dentistry to Optimum Dental.
Dr. Hoang is a fellow with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics (AAIP). He also belongs to the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Hoang is committed to continuing education and takes many advanced courses each year to enhance his skills and better serve the dental care needs of his patients, providing them with a gentle and comfortable dental experience.

I'm so happy I took the decision of giving Optimum Dental a chance. I was looking for a second opinion from my previous dentist and I'm glad I did. One of the thing that drove me into Optimum Dental was the amazing reviews and they don't do justice to how amazing everyone is. Christina and Amy are very nice and welcome you as soon as you go inside the office. Dr. Hoang it's the best! He is so nice and professional. It doesn't matter how many questions I had, everyone patiently answered and provide the best options for me. I'm very grateful with everyone. Please give Optimum Dental a chance. They don't disappoint!

I needed a wisdom tooth extraction and I am so happy I choose Optimum Dental and Dr. Bao Hoang! This was my first wisdom tooth extraction and of course I was very anxious but Dr. Hoang was very professional and caring. I didn't feel a thing. Would definitely recommend!

Took my Viet mom here for an emergency extraction. Dentist Bao Hoang was professional and explained thoroughly (in Vietnamese) what he plans to do and was very knowledgeable. Would recommend to anyone!

I would like to appreciate the work done by the doctor and supporting staff for my root canal treatment and placing a crown after that. The staff here are so friendly and takes good care of me and my teeth.

Dr.Bao Hoang identified that I had an issue that was only curable via prescription medicine on 8/16 -- today, I reach out for assistance on the matter. I was pleasantly told I had to come in for evaluation. When I arrive I am told the balance I paid on 8/16 has been adjusted an additional $49.80, and a consolation before that another $20 despite me paying on the spot both times. We can all agree insurance companies have their adjustments, but when I provide my insurance at the beginning of my appointment and pay same day I don't expect issues 60 days later. Why wasn't I told before this? Lastly and most importantly -- why wasn't I prescribed the solution to my problem when you identified it on 8/16? Instead you want to charge me a $70 cocharge, for information you already had at your fingertips and should've addressed prior. Instead I had to once again research on my own for a solution. I expect doctors to show compassion in the moment and provide solutions when an issue is presented. Not double charge. Laziness and the I'll-desire to help has plagued the medical industry. I'll pay half the copay at a general practitioner and get the same outcome. The outstanding balance Optimum Dentistry claims will also be paid within 24 hours of today. Edit: Since posting this I have edited my review from a 1 star to 5 star review. I been contacted by Dr.Bao Hoang personally, and was informed that the doctor who saw me on 8/16 was not him. More importantly, I am being prescribed the medicine I need to relieve the symptoms present during my 8/16 visit without any issues. I have agreed to pay the balance in full. This was the plan from the beginning, but I am glad he took the time to contact me and make this situation right. This was not only professional, but extremely kind of him! Much appreciated.

I had an amazing experience here as a new patient today! Christina at the front desk and the rest of the team were all so kind and caring. Dr. Hoang went through all of my X-rays and clearly explained everything. I've honestly never felt any other practice involve me so much in my care and ensure that I understand everything and get all my questions answered! Bonus points for having Great British Baking Show on in the room lol. So happy I found Optimum Dental!

The experience here couldn't be better. I've visited several times and I really enjoyed every visit. They did an excellent job on understanding your concerns, fears and are patient with your questions. I used to have a hard time to visiting a dentist because my previous dentist was a nightmare but Dr.Bao Hoang has helped me overcome that and I'm not afraid of needle or any numb anymore. My hygienist Chantel also did awesome job! deep cleaning is supposed to be painful but my experience is very smooth! Many appreciation to the team at Optimum Dental!

It was an incredibly smooth process having my emergency dental appointment as a new patient booked within a super short notice! Communication with staff was fast, convenient, and stress free for getting my appointment scheduled. (Even on a holiday weekend) Everyone I spoke with at the office was very kind, informative, and very understanding of my needs. This was by far the best dentist appointment/experience I've ever had. Not only did I leave pain free, but they were able to give me a cleaning that was long overdue during my first appointment. I was very pleased and grateful for that. This office performed above and beyond my expectations. That being said, this will be my primary dentist from now on, and I will be making appointments for my family as well. It's so comforting to have a dentist that's there for you in a desperate situation, no matter what day it is, and makes sure to solve whatever problem you're having that day. I'm very excited to come back and continue with my treatment plan to keep my teeth healthy and clean
