Dr. Saehee Kim graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Biochemistry. She then attended dental school at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a one-year general practice residency at Montefiore Medical Center before practicing as a general dentist for four years. She returned to specialize in Endodontics at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry. During her specialty training, Dr. Kim published a systemic review of the cervical plexus accessory innervation which has significant implications for dental anesthesia

In 1983 I took an IV sedation course from Dr. Stanley Malamed at USC School of Dentistry. As you may know, Dr. Malamed is one of the worlds foremost authorities on sedation in dentistry. Studying with him was intended to help me in removing impacted third molars and placing implants. Over the last 30 years I have removed more than 20,000 impacted third molars and completed more than 4,000 sedations.

In 1999 I sold my general dentistry practice. The new owner asked me to help him with third molar surgery. A few of my dentist friends heard about this arrangement and asked me if I could provide the same service for them. Today I provide mobile early third molar removal services for 37 offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I have learned that age is everything when it comes impactions. Patients from about age 13 to 19 can have their third molars removed predictably and safely with a minimum of trauma. Most of these are full bony impactions. The roots are not fully developed, and complications are extremely rare.
