Fluent in 6 languages, Dr. Houenou grew up in the French-speaking country of Benin. In 1998, he received his dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in Michigan and completed a surgery-based General Practice Residency at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Following the formal dental training, Dr. Houenou completed an approved, one-year Implant MaxiCourse Program in 2008 through the Medical College of Georgia and has since been able to offer all phases of implant dentistry ranging from surgical implant placement to implant restorations.
In 2015 Dr. Houenou became Associate Fellow of the Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) making him a fully credentialed member of the organization. In 2017 Dr. Houenou graduated from the Misch International Implant Institute adding to his clinical skills. Later in the same year, he achieved Diplomat Status with the International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI).
Dr. Houenous professional interests include implant dentistry, sedation dentistry, oral surgery, removable prosthetics (dentures/partials) and endodontics. He maintains a professional collaboration with colleagues internationally and holds an active license to practice dentistry in the states of Georgia. His personal interests include travel, motorcycle, salsa dancing, cycling, soccer, tennis and cooking.

Dr. Houenou Is the best dentist I've ever had. He's so sweet and helpful and all of his associates are very nice and respectful. He's fun to talk to when cleaning your teeth and he's very gentle and precise with the way he does his work. I love this place !!

I've been going to this place for many years now. The dentist isn't pushy about doing work that doesn't need to be done like chain dentists. Cleanings always leave me with white teeth.

First Time At Optima Dental, From The Time I Walk-in I felt as if I was here before which is a great feeling. From the Receptionist To The Doctor Was phenomenal. Jen Took Great Care of me , and doctor was super official one of the best Dentist I've been to my whole life.. btw did I mention I came in 15mins late and for a emergency visit and he still was able to take care of me..
