Since our beginning in the basement of the First Baptist Church in 1972, our aim has remained constant: to provide high-quality health care thats affordable, accessible, and efficient. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door provides top-notch health care to those who are hardest to reach, regardless of their ability to pay. Often we serve patients who may not otherwise have access to care including low-income families and individuals without insurance.

Beyond the medical, dental, and behavioral health care provided in our facilities, we promote wellness, good nutrition, stress reduction, and physical activity. Through our focus on prevention, we help to identify illnesses early and decrease the need for more expensive treatment down the road. Our goal is to help entire generations of families stay healthy.

Over the years, Open Door has risen to meet the growing demand for health care in Westchester and Putnam counties. We are proud to provide a medical home to nearly 60,000 local residents every year. Our award-winning Family Medical Centers have opened in a growing number of locations, and we operate numerous School-Based Health Centers to ensure that routine and preventive care is provided when and where children need it.

Mission:Open Door is the regions expert in all aspects of health, with a broad focus on building healthier communities. From prevention and wellness programs to the treatment of diseases, Open Door sees our primary mission as keeping the people of Westchester, Putnam and Ulster Countieshealthy and strong, regardless of their ability to pay.

Vision:By 2030, Open Door will serve more than 80,000 patients every year. Well expand to new communities, enrich our service offerings, and continue to uphold the highest standards of high-quality, patient-centered, affordable health care. Through our growing services, we will improve the health and quality of life for residents in Westchester, Putnam, and Ulster Counties.

We believe that when you help one person, you can lift up an entire community. Thats the Open Door Effect, and its how we extend the benefits of quality health care throughout Westchester, Putnam, and Ulster counties.

When people maintain good health, there are fewer school and work absences and fewer visits to local emergency rooms. As each Open Door patient becomes better equipped to manage his or her health, health care costs are lowered for everyone. Chronic diseases are managed better, and expensive treatments become less necessary. But more importantly: people feel better every day.

The Open Door Effect depends on health care that is accessible, affordable, patient-centered, and far-reaching. Prevention is a key component of the Open Door Effect, which is why weve expanded our wellness services to improve patients lifestyles. Whether it is blood pressure control, prevention of diabetes, reduction of asthma severity, cancer screenings or maintaining appropriate body mass index, our efficient model of health care achieves clinical results that consistently surpass national benchmarks for patient outcomes.

Absolute worst. I made an appointment Months ago, was on the phone with them for almost 40 mins going over what insurance I have, and confirming they take it. My appointment comes, super early in the am, I get here and the receptionist instantly says they don't take my insurance. She said they used to believe they took it, but now they don't. Did anyone call me and tell me they changed their policy on insurance.. nope. Did they try to accommodate, nope. Then the lady has the gulls to smile and tell me have a great day after just wasting my time and not even trying to work with me on getting help, that I came here for in the first place.

Came in for an emergency walk-in appt. All staff were super friendly, courteous, and informative. I was seen really quickly (apparently there are way fewer walk-ins on rainy days - so top tip is to get toothache only in wet weather, haha!). Walk-ins are for consultations only - so I had x-rays, and was talked through my problem and options moving forward. BUT as they had a no-show, Dr. Bell was then able to just fix my broken filling for me straight away. My face is still numb, so cannot (yet!) confirm the job has totally fixed the problem long term, but after such excellent treatment, I am very hopeful that Dr Bell has just saved my summer vacation!

Dr. Bell is an amazing gifted Dentist/Artist. I really need work done On my front teeth and so far what I thought was the impossible is becoming possible. I had pretty much given up on my teeth and was considering dentures. Dr. Bell persuaded me otherwise. I'll post before and after photos when done. After Note: Getting an appointment is very difficult. Appointments are 6-8 weeks out even after you are an established patient. Only one dentist is ridiculous. You are burning out Dr. Bell. Hire some more dentist's or a couple of hygienist s so the dentist's can be free to work on dentistry. You have some really good staff there and should not take them for granted by understaffed them. Wake-up!!!!

My insurance was billed for a cleaning even though I did not receive an actual cleaning. The dentist told me we "ran out of time" but that he "felt bad" so he only removed the tartar from my teeth.. The dentist even spoke to his assistant right in front of me saying my insurance wouldn't pay out for a "second" cleaning since my previous appointment had been billed as a cleaning even though I did not have one!

The dentist may be great, and the staff may be the best, but suffering thru their phone process for 2 days had me running the other way. TERRIBLE!! And when I finally got thru to schedule a cleaning she said she couldn't do that, only the Dr could tell her when to schedule that, that I'd have to be evaluated first. What!!??

THIS IS THE THE GREATEST DENTIST I HAVE ever been to. I don't know anyone who works here but they treated me as tho I was one of there family members. I had a 2pm appointment and 2 :02 they called me in. I have never been to Dr appointments and was seen on time. The place was busy but each person was treated with kindness, repect and pleaser. I've never written a letter before to anything like this in my life But Kelly the girl at from desk was so pleasant didn't rush me at all and was so nice. My phone broke she asked me would you mind if I look at it within five minutes it was fixed. And made my appointment at the same time Jennifer was another girl that worked here so nice also. The call center is the worse! Will transfer you before you even finish saying what you are calling about. They seem to have no information at all to help anyone going through Dental work. Dose not understand that Saugerties location dose not have anyone answering the phone since they are under staffed but will transfer you anyways. Dose not seem to know how to take a message or send a message. Love the staff at the dental office, despise having to call the call the usless call center.
