Dr. Peter Lee and his wife, Dr. Dorothy Pang, founded this joint specialty practice in 1996. Our team has since expanded to include additional pediatric dentists, orthodontists, registered dental hygienists and assistants, and front office staff. All of our doctors are highly trained specialists who have received at least three years of additional education beyond dental school. Dr. Lee studied in England, Texas, and North Carolina before entering private practice here in San Francisco. He also teaches part-time at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Lee and Dr. Pang live in San Francisco with their two children, and enjoy going to the movies, reading and cooking together as a family. They also love visiting friends and family in Malaysia, Hong Kong and England.
After over 20 years of practicing here in San Francisco, Dr. Lee and Dr. Pang are happier than ever to be part of this vibrant community. They look forward to many more years of serving patients and watching their smiles grow.
Peter Lee, DDS, MS- Board Certified Orthodontist Dr. Lee is a well-rounded orthodontist whose professional interests extend beyond orthodontics to include other dental specialty topics: crowns and bridges, aesthetics, implants, periodontics, jaw surgery and growth and guidance in children. In 2020, Dr. Lee completed board-certification, also known as a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, has been voluntarily examined by his or her peers on the basis of knowledge and clinical skills. He is well-versed in dental literature, gives lectures periodically, attends continuing education courses regularly, and is knowledgeable about the state-of-the-art orthodontic and dental specialty techniques. Routinely, he applies these techniques to enhance the efficiency and quality of his treatment. Dr. Lee shares his practice with his wife Dr. Dorothy Pang, who is a pediatric dentist in San Francisco.A native of Malaysia, Dr. Lee grew up in the bustling city of Kuala Lumpur. He finished high school and college in England. Dr. Lee initially obtained his dental degrees from Kings College London and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Our orthodontist then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and the Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Lee is a clinical professor and teaches part-time in the graduate program of orthodontics at the University of California, San Francisco.In addition to loving his practice and teaching orthodontics, Dr. Lee has many hobbies. He loves movies, music, reading, traveling and plays a keen game of badminton. He is also an accomplished chef who can cook pasta dishes and a rack of lamb to rival many Italian restaurants. But his true claim to fame among his friends and family are the Malaysian curry, satay and the Hainanese chicken rice!

Painless experience, there was a lot of new tech that they used to determine that I was going to need Invisalign. Then explained to me the benefits of Invisalign over braces to me.

I went here because I was in the process of moving to SF and had a permanently attached lower retainer break. I wanted to go in to get it fixed or talk about getting it removed and maybe getting one that wasn't permanent/fixed. The people here were super nice and friendly. It was probably one of the best experiences I've had in an orthodontist's office, or in any office, period. I don't even usually leave reviews on places, but they said it helped them a lot, and I figured I would since they were so nice and helpful. I was helped by Linda and Dr. Lee as well as Tina, Peter, and Maya. All of the staff here was not only super friendly, but also super funny, and I enjoyed talking with them all. Even though it was my first appointment, which was only for an evaluation, they were able to squeeze me in and remove my lower retainer as well as get my teeth scanned for a new mold right then and there. They also referred me to a dentist and helped me set up the soonest appointment possible with her. I would highly recommend going here!

My experience with OPDSF has always been wonderful. The staff are always nice and friendly. Peter at the front desk was kind and warm when he greeted us and let us know what to anticipate for the visit. Rita who assisted in my daughters treatment was very detailed with explaining my daughters after care instructions.

I recommend against using them. My child's teeth are still crooked. Dr. Lee overcharges and concluded treatment by screaming at my daughter. He was upset about his profitability. Poor communications entirely. I asked him why he charges so much. "I am that good," he said.

I went here all my childhood and they've always been the best. Truly talented dentists who can work well with their patients and perform wonderfully. I was very sad to leave but glad I got such good service for so long. Dr lee is the best ortho. so funny, extremely nice and helped me out A LOT

Dr Lee and staff at OPDSF are the best. Although we were nervous at what the outcome and effects would be with Invisalign for Kevin, it turned out to be painless. This is because of Dr Lee's reputation and knowledge about his patients. Very kind and friendly place. The service was very well and the staff was very kind. Amazing staff in this place and I would highly recommend that you come here. I loved how welcoming and friendly Peter and Natalia was when I first entered they made me feel very welcomed inside. Mei, Shimi and, Nancy did an amazing job on my teeth. Overall great experience and would recommend all to come.
