Dr. Mittal is passionate about orthodontics. Not just the science behind it, but also the chance to develop long-lasting relationships with her patients. Born and raised in Springfield, Dr. Mittal graduated as a valedictorian from Hayfield Secondary School. She received a dual degree in Biology and Sociology from the University of Virginia followed by a DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia/VCU Dental. While in dental school, Dr. Mittal was active in student leadership (ASDA), president of her Dental Fraternity (DSD), and volunteered with Mission of Mercy (MoM) projects in underserved areas of Virginia. She went to Indiana University to complete her specialty training in orthodontics and a Master of Science, where her research was published in The Angle Orthodontist. Having served communities in Reston, Manassas, Woodbridge and Fredericksburg, Dr. Mittal is thrilled to finally serve patients in the same community which fostered her growth and development. Dr. Mittal met her husband, a U.S. Marine Corps Reservist, at UVA and they are smitten with their two little girls.
Our managing partner, Dr. Berman, is a former patient of the Springfield office, so this is a homecoming for him. He has lived in Northern Virginia his entire life, graduating from Langley High then attaining his Bachelors degree from the University of Virginia followed by a DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He went on to receive specialty training in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Oral Biology at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Berman has been a board-certified orthodontist for over 20 years, successfully owns orthodontic offices in Falls Church and Franklin Farm, and is very active in the dental community. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis.
Hes placed his trust in Drs. Mittal and Berman to take over care for his former patients. Dr. Bagden has studied and refined a revolutionary technique, the Damon System, that gives patients more efficient results. He has been a speaker on this technique in 40+ countries, is a Certified Damon Instructor ( a certification given to less than 25 orthodontists in the US), and has a true passion for treating his patients. His energy and enthusiasm dont stop there. He also enjoys running marathons, cooking, and discovering new interests. Dr. Bagden is enjoying his retirement with his wife Kathy, five children, and six grandchildren.
