Dr. J. Art Mirelez, Jr. maintains one of the most successful private dental practices in Fresno. A local boy, born in Fresno, and raised in the nearby small rural town of Caruthers, he attended and graduated from Caruthers High School. After graduation, he attended Fresno State University and received a Bachelors degree in Chemistry with Honors. Dr. Mirelez received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry in 2002. Upon completion of dental school, he was selected for a General Practice Residency Program at Fresnos University Medical Center, where he treated medically compromised patients under general anesthesia. Dr. Mirelez then went on to work for Healthy Smiles Mobile Dental Foundation, a local non-profit childrens dental organization.
Dr. Mirelez travels internationally in search of safe and advanced implant techniques, one of which is the Ickert Dental Centre of Canada. Dr. Mirelez is a graduate (1 of 300 worldwide) of the prestigious Kois Center, an institute for elite dentists who choose Advanced Dentistry Through Science. Dr. Mirelez also advanced his sedation training with the Dental Organization of Conscious Sedation to become a leader in Sedation Dentistry.
Dr. Mirelezs desire to be the best clinician possible through training and education has allowed him to acquire the honor of Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Gates grew up in Fresno, graduating at the top of the Bullard High School class of 2000. He spent weekends and summers working at his fathers vineyard in Madera where he learned many skills and values which can be applied to dentistry. After high school, Dr. Gates then attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. While studying at Berkeley, he did research in a plant genetics laboratory.He matriculated into dental school in 2006 at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine and graduated in 2010 with a DMD degree. In his spare time, he enjoys many outdoor activities such as cycling and hiking, as well asprojects around the house.Dr. Gates has been practicing dentistry for 10 years now and looks forward each day at the office.
Dr. Van Hoff graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Dentistry in 1989. In 2000, she moved to the US and got married. She received her California dental license in 2003. She loves to spend her weekends hiking in the mountains and is passionate about the outdoors. She loves to read, watch foreign films and plays classical music on the piano.

Dr. Aiko Kondo was born in Japan but came to the U.S. at 7 years old and was raised in North Carolina and Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University and completed her B.S. in Biology with Honors in two and half years. While preparing for dental school at OSU, she realized she also had a passion for research. She spent the next 4 years working in a biophysics laboratory in Japan, using microscopes to track single molecule movements on live cell plasma membranes, eventually obtaining her Masters degree in Medical Sciences from Kyoto University. Dr. Kondo returned to the U.S. to attend dental school after realizing her true passion was in dentistry. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Her hobbies include cooking and staying fit with yoga and exercising outdoors. Growing up, she spent a lot of her time playing the piano. Her senior year in high school, she won the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati, Ohio and had the opportunity to perform at The Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Dr. Kondo is a compassionate dentist who always aims to put her patients at ease. She finds it highly rewarding improving patients lives, whether it be from improving their smile or relieving them of pain.

10/10! So grateful for this place. The worst tooth pain of my life kicks in Saturday night 9/3 and of course it is a long holiday weekend (Labor Day on Monday), just my luck! I had non stop pain no matter what I did (medication, salt and warm water rinse, chewing garlic, you name it I tried it). When I was unable to sleep because of pain, I became desperate and started googling emergency dentists. I found OnCall Dental and called at midnight; to my surprise someone answered the phone and made me an appointment for Tuesday. Of course I was thankful but still thinking to myself I don't know how I am going to make it till Tuesday. On Sunday 9/4 I received a call at 11:30 from Angela asking if I could make it there by noon. I said absolutely! Let me tell you this place lived up to every positive review! Angela up front was kind, professional, and upfront about services and costs. I even overheard her conversation with other people and she always was transparent about what insurance would and would not cover. She is what you wish every front desk medical office experience would be like. Once in the room, the dental assistant Amy was the first to great me, answer questions, and was overall just a top notch dental assistant. Once we had a plan in place Dr. Gates came in and went over the procedure, answered my questions (I ask a lot of questions), let me be in control of the care I wanted, and was completely transparent about the procedure and cost. My pain was coming from one wisdom tooth but I had two wisdom teeth that needed to be pulled. He let me decided if I just wanted one tooth done or both. I never felt like the office pressured me to get any care or treatment that I did not need or want. They did what was medically necessary to help me get out of pain. Because of the way the staff treated me, I trusted them and decided to have both wisdom teeth pulled. Dr. Gates was extremely gentle and he talked to me through the entire procedure, always checking in to make sure I was okay and not feeling any pain. Within probably 10mins total he had me numb and both teeth out with honestly zero pain. I don't know how he did it but I was extremely impressed. I was so grateful for the team that was there today to help me. Because of them, I am no longer in pain. I wanted to write this review so the next person in my position could feel good about choosing this place. I chose this place because of the reviews and I was not disappointed. I was actually more impressed then I even anticipated. Thank you a million times over to OnCall Dental. You guys saved me from multiple days of pain. You guys are awesome!

My dentist couldn't see me til Oct.3. So I googled "need tooth pulled" and Oncall Dental popped up. I called and told them my situation, they were able to Squeeze me in the same day. Everyone was so nice and helpful from the receptionist to the doctor. I definitely recommend them.My pain is finally gone Thank you Oncall Dental.

The experience that the employees of our company have received, has been absolutely top notch. Each of our employees have commented, they will never take their dental service t any other location. That is how great of a location this place is.

Not being a huge fan of pain, I nevertheless had a sharp pain, from a wisdom tooth I should have removed years back, but I never did. I called in, and was given an appointment for that same day and within an hour from my call. They managed to make the appointment on what I could see, was a very busy day. The staff was very kind, professional, helpful. The dentist removed my tooth, and did so, in an effort that surprised me it had already been done. Each step was very clearly explained to me, leaving me with no questions. I can't speak highly enough of this Dentist, the staff and their set up.

This is my first time to visit this facility and i cannot thank enough for my friend's referral. Staff is beyond friendly and professional. I would absolutely recommend OnCall Dental to anyone. On all of my visits i had zero pain on mu procedures and staff worries that i experience zero pain. I will absolutely keep on coming back for future procedures as well as recommending to my friends. I would give more than 5 stars if I could.

I was in a lot of pain and looking for help. I found on call dental and I was taken care of right away. Very professional and up front with cost's, they impressed me with the removal of my broken tooth, They are now my dentist. If you are looking for a new dentists. Look no more

Called at 9pm at night spoke to the on call person to be I formed that they aren't 24 hours and there is no dentist on right now. The website says 24 hour emergency service. Completely misleading

I went today sad as a walk in and I left happier than ever !!! They are so understanding and respectful, I called in with an attitude because I had a headache from my toothache and it was very bad and the lady on the phone still calmly helped me. I highly recommend coming here especially if you are scared of the dentist like I am they made me feel comfortable & took the time to explain things. The staffs are nice the office is clean

Honestly i did not have dental insurance and yet it was affordable for me for taking out 2 wisdom tooth which had caused me severe pain and it did not hurt me through the procedure. Thanks to Dr. Kondo she was very patient through the end even they had closed at 2 p.m. on a sunday. I want to thank Oncall Dental that they are open 7 days a week which anywhere in fresno there is no weekend dental place that are open besides this place. Here i found them on the google search and had a great review! It is true with all the reviews and now I am finally stress relieved from aching jaw pain free now. Everyone here is friendly and nice! Go here if you are like me even with no insurance they will still do a payment options! Thanks oncall dental!

I called this place yesterday in severe pain due to a wisdom tooth coming out I didn't have any insurance and the price was very reasonable they took care of me with love and compassion I definitely highly recommend them! Didn't feel a thing and I had the tooth taken out before the afternoon I came here because I had read nothing but good reviews on them and I don't regret it I found my new dental place . I will definitely being going back again.

Genuinely the best dentist office I've ever been to. Had a true dental emergency and was seated in the dental chair 1.5 hrs after calling in! Staff is incredibly warm and didn't make me feel nervous or embarrassed in any way. Plenty of options for those without insurance as well. 100% would recommend to those in need.

I took my son there when he was in the worst pain, I looked everywhere to find someone who would see him that day and I finally found somewhere. When I brought my son in the staff was so nice to him treated him like he was their child he was so comfortable there and loves how nice everyone is. Not only were they nice to my son but so nice to me and worked with me and I'm so thankful for that. My son can be a handful at times but they were patient and understanding made sure my son knew what was going on throughout the whole procedure.
