Founded in 1989, OMSNashville has grown into a full-service private practice with Board-Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and Associates; Dr. Daniel Burchfield, Dr. Gregory Richardson, Dr. Bruce McLeod, Dr. John Shea, Dr. Kevin West, Dr. Margaret Hamilton, Dr. Andy Wicke, Dr. Joe Mort, Dr. William Randall Cone, Jr, and Dr. Thomas Bailey.
The doctors of OMSNashville maintain a strong commitment to the treatment and care of the community and have nine convenient locations located in Brentwood, Bellevue, Columbia, Gallatin, Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Mount Juliet, Nashville, and Springfield to better serve the needs of their patients. They are also affiliated at local hospitals including Sumner Regional, Hendersonville Hospital, Skyline, Baptist, and Vanderbilt, where they serve as clinical professors. Our doctors have donated hours of service to the Salvus Center and Interfaith Dental Clinic in Nashville, whose mission is to improve the oral health of uninsured, low-income, working people, their children, and the elderly in Middle Tennessee through access to affordable quality dental care and oral disease prevention services.
The highly trained staff at OMSNashville is chosen for their compassion in addition to their skills, and are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants who assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. All surgical assistants are CPR certified, ACLS certified, and are registered Dental Assistants.
Dr. Daniel Burchfield received his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University. After graduating with honors from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, he completed his General Practice Residency at the University of Louisville V.A. Hospital program. He went on to complete his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Bellevue Hospital in New York, New York. He received a prestigious Clinical Cancer Research Grant in 1977 and was the recipient of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award in 1980. Dr. Burchfield has been voted perennially by Nashville Lifestyles Magazine in their category of Top Dentists in Nashville. He has also been recognized as one of Americas Best Dentists and recently by Interfaith Dental in Nashville as a Dentist of Distinction.
Dr. Burchfield is the founding partner of OMSNashville and opened his first office as a solo practitioner in 1988. His personal interests include golf, tennis, racquetball, running, swimming, bicycling, and reading. He enjoys living on his farm with his three dogs, cheering on the Nashville Predators, and spending time with his three sons, John Daniel, Garrett, and Jacob.
Dr. Gregory Richardson received his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University. After graduating with honors at University of Louisville School of Dentistry, he continued to complete a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In 1994, he joined OMSNashville.
Dr. Richardson is committed to achieving clinical excellence through continuous educational pursuits. He practices the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery including bone graft and implant reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, obstructive sleep apnea correction, as well as traditional oral surgical procedures.
Dr. Richardson is very active in the local and state dental societies. He is a delegate to the Tennessee Dental Association and served as the President of the Nashville Dental Society. He volunteers regularly with the Interfaith Dental Clinic as a clinical instructor for oral surgery residents. Dr. Richardson is Board Certified and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral &Maxillofacial Surgery.
On a personal level, Dr. Richardson pursues sports and staying physically fit. He is also an avid aviator and musician. He lives in Nashville and enjoys family time with his wife Virginia and daughters Lilah and Cora.
Dr. Bruce McLeod received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christian University and graduated with honors from University of Maryland Dental School. He went on to serve in the United States Navy for 13 years and completed his General Practice Residency at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. In 1993, he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He later became the Department Head of Dentistry of the Orlando, Florida Naval Hospital, received the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal for Service, and became the Oral and Maxillofacial Department Head in Mayport, Florida. In 1997, Dr. McLeod joined OMSNashville as the third partner.
Dr. McLeod is an avid swimmer and participates in yearly open water meets. He enjoys going to TCU games and spending time with his family (wife, Maria, and two daughters, Kristen, and Michelle) and friends on the lake.

I had to take my dad to OMS in Goodlettsville TN. about 5 weeks ago. My dad wore a mask in because he has zero immune system. Before going, he had just spent the last 3 weeks at home. When he went in, no one was wearing a mask. When he asked, they said it's not required by the CDC or local health department anymore. 2 days later he started sneezing and having a runny nose. The 4th day he had a cough and a bad headache. The 6th day he was coughing with a low grade fever. Now he can't be put on Paxlovid because it was passed the 5 day mark. He is very sick now and has been coughing for over a month now. Someone at OMS gave him covid. This company is very selfish and they are putting at risk patients in danger. My dad was fully vaccinated. He is still very ill. Shame on OMS for not wearing masks! A.L

Dr. Hamilton and staff are absolutely amazing! They were incredibly comforting, understanding and proffesional as I was having surgery for the first time. They even called me later that evening to inquire on my status, which shows excellent patient care! I am very greatful to them and their services and couldnt recommend better!

I had to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled. I met Dr. Bailey for the first time for a consultation. He was so nice and explained to me about the procedure. He pulled the 2 wisdom teeth the next week. Oh my goodness it was the easiest recovery. I followed his directions for the after care and was back to normal the next day. Easier than getting you teeth cleaned. I has zero pain. Best experience I've ever had. If you need work done ask for Dr Bailey. I promise you will be pleased.

DO NOT GO TO THE GOODLETTSVILLE LOCATION. Dr.Mcleod does not care about your time at all! I am the first appointment for the day on top of getting there early. The staff was great, but the fact that my surgeon had me waiting over an hour, just to find out that he was not even in the building! How rude can you be. Then walks in all casual like he didn't have to be somewhere. Just because your a Dr. doesn't mean screw everyone else's time, so unprofessional. Thanks for wasting my time.

Dr. Hamilton and her team are highly skilled professionals who do a fantastic job (I have had multiple procedures). They are so down to earth and likeable, which is just icing on the cake. I trust that the work they do will be correct, cosmetically pleasing,and long lasting. I highly recommend them.

My husband needed a tooth pulled and our dentist referred oms. They pulled the tooth in less than 30 minutes and the doctor was great. However we had a problem with the red head lady at the front desk. She was rude and overbearing because we did not have our masks on. We had the covid vaccine. She ordered me to put it on. If I am going to spend 500.00 plus ,all I expect out of her is Yes Mam.

Learned this place was out of network 2 days before the surgery (I should've asked earlier even though I was referred by in-network dentist), and staff handled the situation professionally and assisted me to cancel the appointment. Dr. Burchfield is such a great doctor and I was looking forward to the surgery.

Dr. Cone and the entire OMS staff made my oral surgery experience better than I could have imagined. I was nervous coming into this, however I was immediately made to feel comfortable and well informed. Dr. Cone even called me soon after my surgery to check on how I was feeling. Everyone here is awesome!

If I could give 100 stars, I would! I highly recommend Dr. Cone and his staff. Everyone at OMS-Goodlettsville was compassionate and genuine throughout the entire process. I saw him for the removal of 4 impacted wisdom teeth and the procedure could not have went smoother. Dr. Cone followed up the same evening with a call to check in on my status post-op. I had slight swelling which is to be expected but little to no pain throughout recovery. In my opinion, he's the best in Nashville-Goodlettsville area.

I am 26 and just got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. I was extremely nervous for the procedure and concerned about the healing process afterwards. The staff in the office and during the procedure were so kind and helpful with any questions or concerns I had. Dr. Cone is AMAZING! I hardly had any pain after my surgery, and I was back to work in no time. He even called me evening after my surgery to make sure i was doing OK. I would highly highly recommended him for any oral surgery.

Dr. Cone and OMS Nashville made my sons experience of getting his wisdom teeth out seamless. Dr Cone explained everything to us pre-operatiively. And he had minimal pain!!!
