The Mission provides after care support and encourages participants to maintain contact with program directors. They are encouraged to seek support for any issues they encounter and may be offered partial financial support while they become established and move to life beyond the recovery houses.

Our residential treatment programs are currently housed in rented facilities. While in the program, men and women follow a set of guidelines designed to aid them in the recovery process. Men in the program are required to work at the Mission during the day and attend church and bible studies throughout the week. Women in recovery are required to participate in state and court mandated programs, as well as bible studies, church and counseling sessions. Both men and women follow the Genesis Recovery process, which is based on the bible. Men can stay in the program for nine months and women can stay in the program up to two years.

The Missions primary need is for financial and in-kind support to help maintain programs. Updated needs are listed on the home page and are printed in our quarterly newsletter, or can be obtained by calling the OUGM offices at (360) 709-9725.

No. The Olympia Union Gospel Mission works from the understanding that the gospel message of Jesus Christ is central to any and all work that takes place at the Mission, therefore the Mission does not accept any funds which might compromise their ability to present the gospel.

  • In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • The OUGM exists as an Evangelical Christian Rescue Mission, serving Thurston County, to share the good news of life in Jesus Christ by meeting the physical, mental and spiritual needs of individuals in crisis.

We carry out our ministry to share the love of Jesus Christ in practical ways by meeting the needs for discipleship, food, shelter, dental care, limited health care, life skills training, addiction recovery, household goods and personal effects, benevolence, education and job training, domestic abuse intervention, and developing and maintaining partnerships with individuals, organizations and churches.

Our vision is that OUGM is the voice of hope to the lost, the young and elderly, to those in bondage to drugs and alcohol and to the broken-hearted in our community of Thurston Countythrough the life transforming teaching of Gods Word. We compassionately touch the lives of those in physical and emotional pain through the restorative care of counseling, dental and vision services. Our desire is to provide a safe haven and a listening ear to all in need of food, clothing and shelter. We are committed to being the hands, feet and voice of Christ, making His appeal of reconciliation through our words and deeds. We are Christs ambassadors gathered from the local churches to show our community Gods love and share His message.

I wanted to leave a great review for this place after they helped fix a broken tooth and the staff were so understanding back in April. I waited a bit to write this as I had some travel for medical stuff and knew they were going to call me in for a cleaning at a later date. So I thought I'd roll everything all into one nice friendly review. I thought... The staff here during the initial visit were friendly and listened to me when I said that my blood pressure always goes high during dental appointments due to PTSD, hypervigilance, a fear of dentists stemming from childhood, etc. They took my BP more than once to see that after a bit of being in the office that it was indeed going down and everything went fine. That appointment went great and I thought they were awesome. That was not the case this time... The initial staff at the desk and taking my x-rays were friendly again. When it came to check my blood pressure this time, it was as usual just slightly over the mark for what they accept. This time however the hygienist, whom I hadn't met on prior visits, decided to be aggressive in their handling with me over it. They kept trying to bring up that I needed to see doctors and get on medications to treat it and would not listen to anything I had to say regarding the situation. They re-tested me after a bit and I was within range, and even then she didn't stop making comments about needing to see doctors for my heart and weight. I finally had to walk out after telling them that their behavior was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I would honestly rather have all the teeth rot out of my head than be treated the way I was today.

I can't begin to say what a "Great group of Volunteers" that work here. I had dental insurance before I had major back surgery 3 times that left me disabled and was unable work any longer @ the age of 58 that was a major adjustment in itself. Then recently had a stroke and no insurance. So my dental work took a back seat. I developed 2 areas of infection in my mouth and teeth needed to be removed and cleaned. I was given information from the "Olympia Free Clinic that the Union Gospel Center might be able to assist me and get on there diabetic program. I called and a appointment was made. This office is very prorfesaneley ran and very well organized.. the volunteer Dentist's and Hygienists are the greatest to say the least. I feel so respected and welcomed when I come in and I've never walked away feeling as if I was a burden. I can't begin to tell you how better my physical helth has improved and has given me a great boost to how I feel about myself. This is a program that has been long overdue in our community. I don't know what I would have done with out them.. I do hope that those who sponsor this program will see how valuable and needed this program is to the well being of people like myself who have lost medical insurance due to a major medical issue. God defanetly shines a bright light on these gifted individuals who show so much compassion to others.. Bless you all for all you do. Sincerely: Margaritta U, Rodarte

This is the best dental experience I've ever had! The staff made me feel comfortable and the dentist had my infected tooth out so quickly, I didn't feel a thing. It didn't even hurt when he gave me the novacain. I would definitely recommend anyone who has dental fears to come here!

It is a good place. But the one thing I don't like is your spouse cannot come back to the room with you. Every other place expensive or not will let your spouse go back with you. It is a good place if you have a dental emergency.

I absolutely love this place the staff is very friendly and professional. They care about your needs and get you in and out quick. I choose this place over any other dental clinic around. I've had allot of work done and have never had a bad experience or have ever been in pain. If you ever need dental work done on an emergency bases this is the place to go.

I had a great experience at this place last year, however today my boyfriend did not. If you are black they won't accept you and they'll tell you to go up north because they don't believe anyone of color can possibly live in thurston county. It's disgusting. They'll talk about President Trump and ridicule you in front of everyone in the waiting room for no reason. I understand these people are volunteers (i think?) but why do they have to be racist? :(
