Dr. Kim is a 2000 graduate of Loma Linda University. He considers it a great privilege to provide quality dental care to the residents of Thurston County! Alongside his fantastic staff, he is devoted to providing the kindest and most gentle dental care to his patients.
Dr. Kim has been married to his one and only love, Amy, for over 20 years. Together they have two beautiful teenage girls, Charis and Caia. Their family has two dogs: Tamarind, a King Charles Cavalier, and Boston, a Yorkshire Terrier.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kim has many passions! He is the co-founder of two non-profit organizations: ARME Bible Camp and F5 Challenge. He loves all things outdoors, including rock climbing, running, snowboarding and mountain biking. One of his most fun accomplishments was qualifying and running the Boston Marathon. He is also a two-time IRONMAN finisher. Along with having a very active role in his church, he has taken over a dozen mission trips all over the world. His favorite was a mission trip into North Korea!
Lindsey has been with our dental office since 2013! She graduated from the dental assisting school at Northshore Dental Assisting Academy in Bothell, Washington, in 2013. Before she became our front office manager, she worked as one of our dental assistants.
Olha became a part of our practice in 2019. She graduated from the Shoreline Dental Hygiene School in 2014, has three years of nursing school experience in Ukraine and has spent five years at a university in Ukraine teaching Russian.
Olha moved to the United States of America in 2009 and has one son and one daughter. They have two dogs (an American bulldog and a Chihuahua) and a bearded dragon. She loves going dancing and trying new foods. Fun fact: Olha lived in Kazakhstan for 13 years!
After moving from south California in 2007, Tina remarried and has two stepsons and two daughters. In her free time, she loves to decorate, garden and can veggies. Her husband runs their glass shop in Olympia and Shelton.
Trish joined our team in 2017. She graduated from dental assisting school in 1993 from South Puget Sound Community College. After working as a dental assistant for close to 20 years, she went back to school to become an Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary.
She is married to her husband and together they have two children, one dog and a cat. When not at the office, Hiromi likes to play video games with her husband and kids! She became part of our community four years ago after moving here from Atlanta, GA.

When my daughter first came to Olympia Family Dental she was terrified. Instead of forcing her through the process they eased her into the process. Those balloon animals won her over pretty quickly. Now when she comes in, she hops right up into the chair and chats through the whole appointment. I am happy with my own care as well. The staff is always welcoming, the office clean and inviting, easily understood explanations of procedures and needs, and patient is included in the decision making process.

Everyone is really nice and warm here. They make you feel comfortable, and both the hygienist (Olga, I think?) and Dr. Kim were very kind and helpful. Dr. Kim has a nice way of talking to people like they're a friend.

Outstanding staff! Dr. Kim and his staff are fantastic. They make the whole dentist appointment pleasant and comfortable. They truly care about their patients and obviously, enjoy what they do. I am a relatively new patient. I've had three visits so far in the past year. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Also, I've probably been a bit of a pain in the rear with my scheduling and rescheduling but they worked with me and made it happen. Thank you OlyFamDental!

Let's face it, nobody likes to go to dentist. Of all the dentist I've been to through out my life, Dr Kim is by far the best! He has a special way of administering the novocaine shoots, that make it so it's barely felt. He took the time to show me how to properly floss, which no other dentist has ever done. He is the best! The staff at Olympia Family Dental is also great they make me fell comfortable and even call me the day before my appointment to remind me.

Had a dental emergency and Dr. Kim and his team were excellent. I always feel well taken care of and at ease in every experience I have at this practice. Everyone is friendly , kind , professional, and provides quality care in all services. I highly recommend this practice. Years ago I had terrible anxiety when going to see a dentist. I am happy to report great experiences with a dental provider like Dr. Kim and staff will put past anxieties to rest. Thank you Olympia Family Dental for outstanding care and services. After putting off going to the dentist for months, I am SO glad I found Dr. Kim and his staff. I, like many others, have extreme anxiety about the dentist. They immediately made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. Even front desk was extremely warm and kind! (Which i feel is rare at a lot of medical offices so it seems staff is treated very well). I love the way Dr. Kim took the time to really explain oral health to me and why it's so important to floss. Editing to say that their cancellation fees are slightly ridiculous & greedy. They expect 48 hours for cancellation of an appointment otherwise they slap you with a $50 fee. I am a single mom already strapped for cash and now I have to pay $50 on top of my services because I gave 24 hours notice instead of 48 which is frustrating.

Had a bad night with a painful upper left #11 area. Called at 08:30 to see if can be seen? In at 08:45!. Of course, I need a root canal done. Very happy with the customer service. The ladies up front desk were quick and very knowledgeable.

I have been terrified of the dentist my entire life, and always put off going unless absolutely necessary. I had some tooth pain, so I made what I thought was going to be a quick filling appointment. Dr Kim informed me that it was a wisdom tooth that needed to be pulled, and convinced me to get it extracted then and there. The entire staff soothed me as I cried for a little and encouraged me and reassured me through the whole process. I'm recovering so quickly with very detailed instructions, and I'm not as scared anymore. I'm so appreciative of him and his wonderful, caring staff. I'll never go anywhere else. I highly recommend this office to anyone considering a new dentist.

I really like that Dr Kim takes the time to explain how to care for your teeth properly. The whole team was great. The office is very clean and the hygienist Ola was very impressive! They are now my new family dentist!

I had a tooth break wednesday night i called thursday morning at 11am and they saw me at 2pm and pulled my tooth. They truly care about their patients. Doctor calvin kim talked to me about all my options before pulling it and then helped me after to fix my other teeth. They pulled it pain free. If your looking for a great dentist thats fast and truly cares about your wellbeing this is the place. Even with the covid19 going on i got in 2 hours after i called not even without covid can you get in any dentist same day.

I finally found a great dentist with wonderful staff. I have always had bad experiences at the dentist, but with Dr. Kim I am no longer afraid of dental work. He and the staff are kind and welcoming; no 'bad judgement' here for the patient like I've had in the past. Thank you all! Now I can finally keep up with my dental health.

Dr. Kim was wonderful. His staff is caring and friendly. I would recommend them to everyone I know. He does wonderful in helping you not feel pain with the shots or work he has to do. He makes you feel very comfortable and actually cares about how you feel.

I have been to many dentists, If you're looking at the top of the line work A+++++ check this place out! They work with integrity, passion, quality, and treat you with dignity, From the doctor to the entire staff. And most all the place is super homey, comfortable, and clean. Especially at the time of the pandemic, your safety is a top priority, at the check-in, sanitizer at sight, and they take your temperatures. If you're looking for the best dentist in the Lacey-Olympia area, this is the best one in town, perhaps the entire state of WA

My dentist retired a few years ago, we have been seeing my cousin, his office is up north in Woodinville, so it's a bit of a drive. I had a dental emergency on Christmas, I could not get in to see anyone until the Monday after. I ended up having an extremely difficult extraction done, on an emergency basis, my tooth needed to be removed. It was a very unpleasant experience to say the least, and I was fearful there was still roots and or fragment of tooth left in my socket, or worse I had been injured during the procedure. I was in a panic the morning after the extraction and started looking at reviews and calling around to see if anyone could fit me in for an X-ray to make sure I was ok and nothing else needed to be done. I am so thankful I called Olympia Family Dental clinic. The front office staff immediately put me at ease when I explained the situation and they found a way to get me right in, within an hour and a half of the initial phone call. When I arrived the dental hygienist was professional and very caring and listened to what happened and my concerns. She called for the X-ray from the office yesterday and then carefully took new X-rays of my very tender mouth. Next Dr. Kim came in and did a through exam and gave me an explanation of what he thought happened yesterday and calmed my nerves. He spent the better part of a half an hour with me, that is unheard of in my opinion. I am so thankful I met Dr. Kim. I feel as if I found a dentist that I can trust and see more than one time. It's hard for me to find a dentist I can trust and be confident in, I feel like I just won the dentist lottery.
