Dr. Olson was born and raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Millard North High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Academic Honor Society. Following dental school she completed her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry, while also earning a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Olsons Masters Thesis project went on to be published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Olson is board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of several professions organizations including the American Association of Orthodontist, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, Nebraska Orthodontic Society, Omaha Orthodontic Study Club, American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, Omaha District Dental Society, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Julie (Gist) Olson is married to David Olson who is a native of Lincoln, NE. Together they have three children, Claire, Luke and Johnny. After completing residencies in Kansas City, they returned to Omaha where Dr. Olson joined the practice of her childhood orthodontist, Dr. Vic Monson. Away from the office, Dr. Olson loves spending time with her family and friends. She also loves to run and participate in local race events. She is an active member of the Junior League of Omaha and the Omaha Theta Alumnae Group, two organizations dedicated to community service and building relationships within the community.

Welcome to our practice! I have been a clinical assistant with this practice since 1988. I enjoy helping each patient personally with their orthodontic care. It is a joy to see what a positive impact orthodontics has on a person. Your smile is important to us!
Out of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Dave, our two daughters and their families. I love camping, reading, crochet, knitting, volunteering through my church, and, of course, Husker Football!!!
