Dr. Olson was born and raised in Omaha, NE and graduated from Millard North High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Kansas. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry where she graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Academic Honor Society. Following dental school she completed her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry, while also earning a Master of Science in Oral Biology. Dr. Olsons Masters Thesis project went on to be published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.
Dr. Olson is board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of several professions organizations including the American Association of Orthodontist, Midwest Society of Orthodontists, Nebraska Orthodontic Society, Omaha Orthodontic Study Club, American Dental Association, Nebraska Dental Association, Omaha District Dental Society, College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Julie (Gist) Olson is married to David Olson who is a native of Lincoln, NE. Together they have three children, Claire, Luke and Johnny. After completing residencies in Kansas City, they returned to Omaha where Dr. Olson joined the practice of her childhood orthodontist, Dr. Vic Monson. Away from the office, Dr. Olson loves spending time with her family and friends. She also loves to run and participate in local race events. She is an active member of the Junior League of Omaha and the Omaha Theta Alumnae Group, two organizations dedicated to community service and building relationships within the community.
Building relationships with our patients is the foundation of our practice. With our relaxed office atmosphere and friendly, courteous team it is no wonder why our patients always leave our office smiling!
Welcome to our practice! I have been a clinical assistant with this practice since 1988. I enjoy helping each patient personally with their orthodontic care. It is a joy to see what a positive impact orthodontics has on a person. Your smile is important to us!
Out of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Dave, our two daughters and their families. I love camping, reading, crochet, knitting, volunteering through my church, and, of course, Husker Football!!!

Dr Olson was very nice so was her assistant. I do not have coverage for braces on my dental insurance and Dr Olson allowed me to make payment arrangements. I was very happy about that no credit check was needed.

Dr. Olson and her staff are just wonderful! They are efficient when making appointments and love getting text reminders for upcoming appointments! We have one out of braces and one in Invisalign now - their smiles look beautiful we are so happy with the results! Great office - highly recommend!!

Everyone here is the nicest, sweetest and kindest people anyone could ask for. They have always been so informative and helpful on everything. If you need braces please go see Dr. Olson and her staff. They truly care about you as a person. They are always so sweet to me but more importantly they are so kind to my son and he's not even the patient. Please go there for all your orthodontist needs. You will love everything and everyone!!!! I'm genuinely sad my ortho journey is coming to an end!

Love this place! Moved to Missouri half way through having braces and refused to switch orthodontists. So we drove back once a month for appointments! These are absolutely amazing people!!

I did Invisalign with Dr. Olson and the entire process was completely pain-free, literally and figuratively. The professionals at Olson Orthodontics are genuine, friendly, reassuring, and organized. From the front door to the examination chair, everyone that helped me was kind, upbeat, and efficient. I always felt valued, never just another customer. When they asked a question, they really wanted to know the answer and they always followed up on my next visit. And beyond this ability to be personable, they do excellent work. I've never felt so confident about my smile. I definitely recommend Olson Orthodontic for your teeth-straightening needs!!

Got my braces at this place in 2016, got them off early 2017, and had to go back because my retainers finally gave in to the stress of my nightly stress grinding. Went in, got the scan, and was out quick and hassle free. They're a great place with great people.
