Olson Orthodontics takes pride in our small, family feel where every patient and parent should feel welcome to speak directly to our staff, including the doctor. Dr. Hood-Olson, DMD, specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. She was raised in McLeansboro, IL, a small community in southern Illinois about 100 miles east of OFallon. She graduated valedictorian of her high school. Then, she attended Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, where she was awarded the Chancellor Scholarship. In addition, she received one of two positions for early acceptance into the School of Dental Medicine.
Upon graduating summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree, Dr. Lauren was recognized with the highest overall GPA for the department of science. She went on to complete her doctorate of dental medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in Alton, IL. She again graduated summa cum laudethe only doctor in her class to earn that honor.
After graduating dental school, Dr. Lauren married Andrew Olson of OFallon, IL, and they moved to Rochester, NY. In Rochester, she completed her residency at the Eastman Dental Center Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital.
After their time in Rochester, she and Andrew decided to move back to his hometown to settle down and start a family. Dr. Lauren practiced in the metro-east area for many years before deciding to join Dr. Satrom in 2013 and went on to purchase his practice. Dr. Satrom is a retired colonel from the Air Force and practiced in OFallon from 1999 to his retirement in 2013.
ORTHODONTIST IN OFALLON Dr. Lauren resides in OFallon with her husband and two children: a daughter, Avalinn, and a son, Watkin. When she is not working, she loves spending time with her family and being active in her church and community. She enjoys running, yoga, crafting, and photography. Any chance they get, she and Andrew enjoy cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and the Blues. Dr. Lauren is also a volunteer for the childrens program at her church. I am the laboratory technician here at Olson Orthodontics. I am responsible for the fabrication of all the orthodontic appliances. I received my laboratory training and all advanced training while in the Air Force. I started working here in April of 2002 after retiring from the Air Force, upon 26 years of service, with a cumulative of 36 years of experience in the Dental Laboratory career field. I enjoy working at Olson Orthodontics because I have the opportunity to work one on one with the doctors and the patients. Should a question or concern over an appliance arise, I can speak to the dentist directly. This also allows appliances to be created much faster and delivered to the patients quicker.
I was born and raised in Illinois. When I had braces at age 12 it really interested me in the dental field. I love this job because I love people. I love to craft- paint, sew, etc. My spare time is spent reading and watching old movies and spending time with family.
I was born and raised in Cincinnati, OH. I was a server at a pizza place at 17 years old. I had dentists that were regulars and they offered me a position in the office to work with them. I was hired on my 18th birthday. I love seeing the amazing smiles of our patients when the braces come off for them. I love to run, travel and spend time with my husband when I am not working.

Located on West State Street, just west of the heart of downtown OFallon, the office is conveniently located close to major roadways. You can access the practice off of Greenmount Rd and also Hwy 50. Olson Orthodontics has an advanced practice being completely remodeled in January of 2019. The atmosphere is welcoming, cozy, and comfortable! We want you feel part of our family when you enter your new orthodontic home. Dr. Lauren loves interior design so designing the layout, picking out all the finishes, gathering the furnishings, and even making some of the dcor herself was a fun project for her. Her vision to is be different and refreshing when it comes to experiencing your orthodontic treatment.

This review is way overdue but I wanted to say how much I appreciate the care I received from Dr. Olson. I fell and injured my mouth, broke my nose, tore up my permanent retainer, broke my arm and messed up my knee. I emailed Dr. Olson and she met me on a Sunday and repaired the retainer. After completing the service, she smiled, wished me well and told me to have a nice afternoon. She was so kind, gentle and sincere. I didn't want this to go without expressing my appreciation. Thank you so much!

Dr. Lauren is the most compassionate orthodontist ever. She has also found the most amazing staff to assist with and take care of her patients. We have been utilizing Dr. Lauren's services for a little over 6 years now and I can honestly say, it will be a sad day when we don't see these girls on a regular basis. Of course we have our favorite staff members that seem to make my daughter smile a little extra; Susie & Mirannnnda!

Apparently the office doesn't care about individuals sitting in their car running their ac and wasting gas or burning up in the heat waiting past the appointment time but you better be on time or you can reschedule your appointment. My time is just as important as theirs. Thats why I make an appointment. But apparently they don't care about my time and other appointments I have to make.

In October 2018 our daughter was seen by Dr. Olson's office and given a treatment plan. We were informed that this treatment plan would be implemented on our own timeframe. This was far from truthful. They provide us a copy of a letter they are sending to our dentist stating their plan to put us in a "no treatment" (all caps) status because of no response. Your office have no business complaining to our dentist. By the way, all caps in a letter signifies yelling and is rude, and our dentist doesn't need to hear from you. Your office spent more time justifying their process then hearing our dissatisfaction. However, I'm glad I called. It was enghtning to discover that your office values developing new business relationships more than it does developing patient relationships. Then, your follow on voicemail asking about our son only proves your office is more concerned with business. No apology in your message.

I cannot recommend this office enough! We have had nothing but wonderful experiences every time we visit. The staff is so fun and friendly... We always get excited to see Krista and Debbie! Dr. Lauren and her staff is very thoughtful and considerate and that means a lot as a young mother taking kids to my appointments; which can be chaotic to say the least. They seem to be very conscious of building strong patient relationships. Debbie has even taken time during my appointments to help my 3 year old get familiar and comfortable with dental care by leaning her back in the chairs and helping to get her excited about brushing her teeth. Excellent office with excellent staff!

I've never needed braces until stress from the death of my husband caused me to start grinding my teeth at night.... to the point they were caving in! Everyone here was super understanding and patient with me. A year and half in braces and my teeth are perfect again! I'm not an easy patient. Pretty sure the "younger" patients didn't give the girls as hard of a time as me, but they never stopped smiling, telling me I'm doing great, and supporting me. Especially Debbie and Dr. Lauren. You won't find a better staff and Dr who care about you and know what they are doing.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience here. Dr Olson attempted to put a spacer in for my daughter, it was too big and came out the same evening. She was also told that it wouldn't hurt. My daughter was in tears and was bleeding so obviously it caused some pain. In addition to that I called the office and spoke to Debbie who was incredibly rude to me.

Braces hurt. Spacers hurt. Getting molds done is not the most fun thing in the world and sometimes makes you gag. If you want straight teeth you're going to have to suck it up deal with a little pain along the way and these guys have done a great job making you feel at home and at ease. My husband and I both have had work done here and are so impressed by how super nice and attentive the staff was! Can't wait to start my child here, they already love on him and he's not a patient! Highly, highly recommend!!

You would be hard pressed to find a better Orthodontist in the area, or a better staff than what you will encounter with Dr. Olson and her highly trained staff of specialists. Dr. Olson is very knowledgeable and takes the time to answer all your questions, I would not hesitate to recommend her services to family or friends, especially if you have young children! From the friendly greeting upon your arrival, to the attention to detail that both the doctor and her assistants provide, you won't find a better group in area!

These ladies are the best. They love what they do and it shows. My daughter Rylee is always so comfortable going there even if it isn't a pleasant experience. Susie is of course her favorite and she is so sweet to her. Love this office and the care we have received! Thanks Dr Lauren for making my baby feel good about her teeth!

Dr. Lauren is absolutely amazing! My teeth had shifted after not wearing my previous retainer, so I wanted to straighten them back out. I chose to do Invisalign, and Dr. Lauren made my teeth look better than before! I was highly impressed by her credentials, and her amazing chair side manner. Not only did she graduate top of her class in dental school (which was comforting to me), she was also extremely kind and caring. She was always more than willing to answer any and all questions that I had. The staff was also very kind and respectful. I had a wonderful experience at Olson Orthodontics and I will recommend Dr. Lauren to everyone!
