The Olson family has provided excellent dental care in northwest North Dakota for many years. Quality patient care has been emphasized by all three generations. Dr. Megan and Dr. Olson are known for their strong listening skills and each patient's concerns are assessed with compassion and attentiveness. Their dedication to the needs of each patient has led to maintaining and improving the oral health of many families throughout the region.

Born and raised in Mohall, ND, I consider it a privilege to practice in Minot. My father, Dr. Clarence Olson, a strong influence in my life, served the Mohall community for over forty years as a general dentist. His dental classmate, Dr. Roman Stroebel, encouraged me to pursue a dental career in Minot which eventually led to the purchase of his practice in 1979. I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN for my undergraduate education and completed my dental education at Loyola University of Chicago in 1979. My decision to practice in Minot was quite easy because of my love of hunting, the outdoors, and Lake Metigoshe. Minot has been a great place to raise my family.

I take great pride in my family. Following in my footsteps, three of my daughters have attended Concordia College, while one graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College. Three of my daughters have chosen to pursue careers in Minot; Katie works at the Adult Learning Centerin Minotand Kelly is an attorney with the City of Minot.

Megan joined my practice the summer of 2014 after graduating from Creighton University. My youngest daughter, Julie, is currently a nurse at Sanford Hospital in Fargo. My wife, Kathy, and I have enjoyed many years of following the girls'high school and college activities around the midwest. We now enjoy chasing after our young grandchildren.

An advocate of education, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current options for my patients. As a member of the Minot Rotary Club, I have had the privilege of sharing my knowledge of dentistry with the underprivileged in the developing countries of Honduras and India. As a dentist, I recognize that all my patients are unique individuals that have placed their trust in me. That is one reason I value each and every patient relationship that I have established in Minot or in other parts of the world. I continue to enhance and share my knowledge of dentistry as an active member of the following dental professional groups:

When I graduated from Minot High School in 2005, returning to Minot just 10 years later didn't seem like a possibility, however, my time living in different parts of the country and traveling throughout the world made me realize the value in a hometown. Being able to work and grow, both personally and professionally, with my family close by has already proven to be extremely valuable and gratifying.

Growing up, I had excellent examples of individuals that chose to dedicate themselves professionally to their communities. My grandpa was a dentist in Mohall, North Dakota for over 40 years, only agreeing to retire after he found the best replacement for the job. My dad has been practicing dentistry in Minot since 1979, and has proven to be my most valuable resource as a young dentist. Throughout high school, I spent summers cleaning and assisting at my dads office. There were always words of encouragement from my parents and my grandpa to consider dentistry, but at that time, dentistry and living in Minot were the last

things on my mind. After I started college, my opinion quickly shifted. I took a year off after college and worked as a dental assistant for my dad I needed to make sure this was the profession for me. During that time, I became even more interested in the technical aspects of dentistry, but I quickly learned that the most rewarding and motivating part of dentistry is helping patients.

Since graduating from dental school and returning to Minot to practice with my dad in 2014, I have been able to begin my professional relationship with the Minot community. Not only has my profession allowed me to grow in a supportive community, but it has also allowed me to be closer to my family. I get to work with my dad every day and I have been able to spend more time with my three sisters who all live in North Dakota. Whether were spending time together at the lake, playing tennis, or just watching our favorite television shows, it has definitely been enjoyable having them close. Moving back has also allowed me to reconnect with old friends and connect with new ones. I recently became a member of Young Professionals, Kiwanis, and the Ambassadors. I have met many incredibly interesting people through these organizations and I look forward to becoming more involved in them in the future. Minot is a great, vibrant community; as a young professional, I am hopeful that I will be able to have a significant impact on the Minot community, both professionally and personally.

Skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional patient care. As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship.

Olson Family Dental - General dentist in Minot, ND

I am a graduate of the University of Manitoba Dental School and, before moving to Minot, I practiced for a short time in Canada. Like Dr. David Olson, Dr. Roman Strobel influenced me to relocate to Minot and I have happily enjoyed practicing on my own here since 1972. I have known Dr. David Olson personally and professionally for many years and Dr. Megan Olson since she began her career. We have very similar practice principles and ethics -- and that made our decision to merge practices very easy! Merging practices allows me to continue to practice dentistry with reduced hours, but to ensure that my many loyal patients continue to receive the highest quality care. I am proud to work alongside Dr. David and Dr. Megan. My wife, Virginia, is a licensed professional counselor working in Minot. We have two grown children and one grandson.

On a scale of 1-10 my husband and I give Olson Family Dental A 10. Our experiences over the years have been 100% satisfactory. The staff are all friendly and service is excellent. All dental work received has been satisfactory. We would refer anyone with confidence that they would get the same results.

Olson Family Dental is where I have had my teeth taken care of (both necessary dental work and also cleanings) for many years. They have always been efficient and honest with the work and cost that was needing to be done. I have seen both Dr. David Olson and also Dr. Megan Olson. Both gave very positive experiences, therefore I would recommend Olson Family Dental to anyone, especially family and friends.
